    Just saw this Man for the first time on FB. I think fusion Jazz is the HARDEST type of music for a drummer to play. There is so much intricacy with the rest of the band! One 1/16th note out of place sticks out like a broken thumb! The first fusion album I ever heard was the self-titled Stanley Clarke album: (His pic with a brownish background.) On it was Tony Williams. He turned out to be my favorite drummer. A few years later, he went to the hospital for a "ROUTINE" Gallbladder operation. He never came out. I felt like I had the flu for a week!!

      If you watch enough review videos on the Strata Prime, you will see that it has too many flaws and issues to use this kit live or even for playing songs for videos. There is a video of a great drummer using this kit in the studio with his band, but the sounds are clearly not from the module as I believe he was using a computer VST for sounds. All in all, Alesis is heading in the right direction. I just do not think their kits are worth buying until they come out with one that actually works as well or better than the competition.

    i wonder where the trade-off is because i imagine some brands want $3k just for a module with these capabilities by itself - if this kit proves its durability over time, alesis could be catapulted over the other electronic drum brands with this flagship for pure value

    I've been considerating getting an electeic drum because of "noise pollution" issues around where I stay. I think this would be a great investment. Electric drums are no where near the real thing but this is quiet realistic. I'd definitely buy this

    • @Iamadrummer

      The Alesis Strata Prime set may be the best offering from Alesis, but... I can not recommend Alesis products. Alesis is stepping up there game and trying to come out with more professional kits but their e-kits are only good for beginning drummers and more advanced drummers will want a better kit that perfoms as it should more like an accustic kit rather than a practice toy. The Strata Prime Module is a great advance for e-drums, but the set itself if you watch enough reviews of this kit has too many flaws and issues to consider buying. For about the same amount of money, I think there are many better brands of e-kits out there as I have a terrific, better brand one. The other thing is that e-kits are quieter than accustic kits, but they are not silent. The Strata Prime kit has a 20" bass drum that is muffled but still louder than most e-kit bass drums. If you watch 65Drums, he does great in-depth reviews of electronic drum kits. He even demonstrates how loud the kits are without sound. He, as well as most of the reviewers of the Strata Prime kit, love the module but can not recommend the kit, at least not until they fix many of the issues the kit seems to have.

    Enjoyed watching J rod play. what sticks does he use ? and really nice kit. what was the name of the actual drum set he was playing ? it sounded more realistic than any Roland sound. and the module is really nice. my question is if you use this kit to record in Pro Logic. how do the outs work ? is each drum and cymbal recorded separately into the DAW ? or how would it work and plug into the audio interface ? and how would it show up on your logic screen ?

    Wow! Other than hearing E drums on the Drumtec channel with DAW or their live sound editions, these are the best most realistic stock sounds I’ve ever heard! My only problem and fear with Alesis is they don’t have the reputation clearly that Roland and Yamaha have for near bulletproof reliability. I’m sure they’ll get there though but this is just phenomenal. I’m nowhere near ready to spend 3,500 but at this point I feel in the next couple of years they’re gonna have a kit this good for about 2000! Wow! This is leaps and bounds ahead

      And the one thing I didn’t like about the strike was the feel of the high hats they were too thick. Of course you could get other HH I’m sure but they were just too stiff for me. I can say this though, about three years ago I was walking into a music store behind some guy and his super hot girlfriend, a few minutes later I’m at a strike kit playing and it felt so good that I was playing really well and she walked by smiling at me! Jrod is one of the best and could make a play toy sound good lol. My problem with electric kits is the mesh heads and the noise that the rubber rims/cymbals do produce what we're hearing is the direct out not the in room sound. computer seems like all that tech should have been around anyway.

    • @keithwoodcrest
      @keithwoodcrest 6 месяцев назад +6

      ....$3k is actually cheap for a good, flagship kit. And not everybody, like myself, can have an acoustic kit right now. I've got a kid and my in-laws living in my house so practicing all hours of the days and nights is a no-go anymore and I can't afford an outside of the home studio space but I want an ekit that looks and feels like a real kit and can actually keep up with my playing. And anything under $1.5k, let alone $3k, is not doing that

    • @Lumerdrums
      @Lumerdrums 6 месяцев назад +3

      it's good to have both if you work professional. Some clients want a real recording, so I have my acoustic kit. some want to have realisticly played midi drums for their project, or just working with the sound from drum plugins, which is fine. You can't offer both without having both drum options available. In covid times I was so happy to have my electronic kit at home so I could make music. I wouldn't give away my "real" acoustic drums, neither the Edrums.
