Dude, those dogtooth specimens were fantastic! And you know I cannot resist the sparkle and shine of druzy! That spot just keeps giving! I have an idea on the green crystal but I want to research it to see if I’m right. I’ll let you know 😊
@@joedadbod8450 I thought wavellite but I don’t know. I don’t have any to compare with it and the photos online are not that dark. Do you find green fluorite in that area?
So that green crystal structure may be malachite ( copper ore) we actually find a lot of it up at Copper Valley Mine attached to dog tooth calcite , the other thing it could be , could be clorite ( prolly spelled that wrong) . That was a great video I love Road cuts.
Thank you, my friend! Yeah, it's just little green spots kinda here and there, with no rhyme or reason to it...and often under the calcite. Either way, I think it's pretty neat. Thanks for your wisdom, and I hope that the fossil show with the kiddos went well the other day!!
Nice!! Am in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Any advice on cool spots out here? So many amazing things all over! Just drove through Missouri & saw all kinds of road side spots, but didn't check out yet. Thinking about going back soon lol Thank you for sharing your pretty finds & for doin what ya do Sir!
@@tstasinis thank you so much!! Yeah, I try to check out some road cuts if I’m able to. It helps that the rocks have been dug into by the heavy machinery and has been exposed. That gives you an indication of what you can find in that area. If I don’t like what I see, I drive on down the road a few miles and look for another spot. Eventually I’ll get something. It just takes some time prospecting new places.
Thanks!! it's a relatively smaller area, but it's been producing quite a bit each time I visit. There's still a lot left there to find, and like the Terminator, I'll be back! 🤣
@@patbluetree4636 I wondered that, but I wasn't sure if that could be found in that area, or if it's possible to be under calcite and above the dolomite. Sometimes it's outside of the calcite, but a lot of it that I have been finding is under the calcite. I think I might put it under a microscope and try to get a clearer image/video of it...
@@Buriedtreasurerocks I’m really not sure…I don’t have a UV light or a black light. My buddy Chris from Wright Rocks says he gets UV reaction to the calcite that’s more brown in color.
I always look at the rock faces along the road as I drive along...just wondered. Have you ever been stopped from looking or picking at the rocks...they must be in the right of way. I'm always nervous about that. Beautiful crystals!!!

@@soul_adventurist thanks so much!! Looking forward to your thoughts on what that green might be. 😊

Amazing video!! Thanks for sharing!!

@@cptnkaos5994 thank you! It’s fun to get away for a few hours and be able to find some cool stuff fairly close to where I live.

@@joedadbod8450 Is that a crystalline type of malachite?

Joe, haven’t watched it all yet, but any of that calcite UV reactive?
