A colorful piece of opalized wood that was a surprise -

  • This morning I went down the ladder with the intention of digging, but of doing mostly housekeeping type stuff, like removing the lower layer of clay.
    As I was digging out the clay and making the tunnel a bit wider, I noticed a curious lump on the left wall. I took a poke at it with the jackhammer. It was a piece of ironstone with color that led to more ironstone with more color.
    That poking led to this piece in the video. As you can see, I cleaned out the clay under the piece to make removing it easier.
    I removed it. It contained more colorful opalized wood. A separate sort of stick of opalized wood was loosely attached to this piece. I’ll show that in the next video.
    After removing this piece, there was more color left in the wall.
    Once lunch digests I’ll go underground and remove whatever comes next. It’s nice knowing there’s color in the wall waiting for me.
