Bush asked about Edmond Morris, Reagan's official biographer who eventually produced "Dutch: A Memoir" which placed Morris within the text as a fictional character. The President didn't seem to know how he ended up in his employment! From what I know, it was Mike Deaver who knew Morris and suggested to Nancy that the author of the Theodore Roosevelt book would be a good choice for President Reagan. Nancy knew that her husband liked the book, and so he was selected...much to Nancy's later regret when the book came out.
