hooooooly moly .. that last trip over the small gap made me shiver and shake! :O that parkour part is horrible and can put an end to your run in a second. So unfair...
its just occurred to me. is Derrin, yknow. actually human. we find him standing dead still in a room by himself and he just apropos of nothing agrees to follow you everywhere you go even when it becomes abundantly clear there isnt a way out for a very long time. He starts to ask questions about a place he MUST have been in for some time as he mentions knowing some of the inhabitants- but he behaves as though he was born there. Im starting to think Derrin is the success of whatever magic was being researched and is just a new soul in an old body the same way the undead inhabit the souls of bodies and let go when they die
I would say the learning curve is a bigger obstacle than the price, as it’s inexpensive but quite hard to learn. It becomes very satisfying if you can get past that initial learning. There is no other game with similar mechanics, so it’s like learning to use a joystick or a mouse when you’ve never used one your whole life. If you like skill based games, it's one of the most satisfying. I have an Exanima Arena playlist designed to help new players. Exanima content creators can make it look deceptively easy, but we were all once hopelessly falling over like toddlers at one point. In their recent coffee diary they say they plan to add more depth of content in the future. That can help you know if you should get it now or wait for the full release. It is currently at 0.9 but the developers don’t rush a fine wine.
I can't put my finger on it but some of this series I absolutely can't look away but others I feel like screaming "would you f***ing get on with it!!". There are cuts and edits so perhaps squeezing in more "action" is possible? I say this because it feels like I watch you manage your inventory more than you fight anything.
I know what you mean, I spend a lot of time editing for this reason. It's a balance of keeping it coherent, and keeping a good pace. Each episode can have a different pace too - i.e. the sewers have a lot of action. Early game inventory management is important, but from EP13-EP14, it's a solved problem. The other less interesting part is the searching containers, or empty rooms etc. You'll see me do more and more short cuts on those, so that an experienced player can still feel spatially oriented, but it's not just me searching bedside tables for 20 minutes. You'll see the pace speed up in upcoming episodes too.
the physics of this game are hilarious, gets me every time you planting your face on the pavement because there was a tiny obstacle

Thank you for putting this series together. Your narration is excellent and really sets the scene.
Great job in the sewers you made it look easy

This episode had me holding my breath lol
Is this game worth it? Saw it early on but most people called it a tech demo at the time. Really interested tho
