    Descent video with good content. Clean up your surroundings. Will help some keep focus on project. Didn't see you put in new high pressure filter. Probably all it needed. Also the isolator under fuel pump will come out easier if you twist it by the bottom.

    Very informative video, one thing. I’ve been tinkering with my bf 130 and it seems to have the same setup as the 115. Where the fuel pump is located, there is a high pressure filter under the cap with the 3 screws. I noticed you didn’t change that. Not criticizing, just saying because you said you’re not really a Honda guy. Great video though.

    Great job. This is very helpful. Excellent. Thank you! Not that I’m an expert or anything but, One thing that you probably should looked at and for others tackling this job is open and inspected and chang high pressure paper pleated fuel filter. I just cracked mine open and it was filthy with bad gas and junk that goes straight to my injector rail. I think I’ll follow your instructions and open up VST and high pressure pump just to clean out. Then I’m hoping my Honda will start running again.

    Great video, found it very helpful. Could you tell me the part number for the plastic piece and O-ring that holds the fuel pump in it's place? I'm talking about the piece that you have wrestle with to get out of there. (Minutes 20:10 -23:40 of the video)

    So been through my BF90 fuel system. New filters, new hp fuel pump,strainer, cleaned out VST, new injectors as could not get one of em to work, and had to really clean tarnish off the brass spade connectors for the hp fuel pump. Looked at and cleaned float needle. Seems low pressure fuel pump is ok. Cleaned out water strainer. Think of anything I missed? Gonna try one more time to start, so far cranks but nothing.

      Have you verified correct fuel pressure? Is the VST filling with fuel?

    Really well done and gave me the confidence to tackle! But I do have a question... I was very careful taking apart and putting back together - mine actually very clean EXCEPT for the filter! When I was finished I noticed a 1" round rubber gasket on the floor. I don't recall seeing anything like this when I took apart and your video doesn't show anything like this in the VST. Now worried that I missed something... any feedback?

    Hi there. I really enjoy your videos and I heard you say on this one that you usually do Yamaha ‘s. I know you’re busy but I have a problem with my 2000 HPDI 200 hp. It was running great and then all of a sudden when I hit a swell it drops power and then goes back to being OK. They drain the VFD in the rear is really orange with water in there. Could this be the cause? Thank you.

    I'm NOT criticizing with this question, but just curious, about your reasoning for not pulling the fuel rail and having the injectors serviced. I believe they cost about $20-$25 an injector to have them serviced. Since you did such a thorough job with the rest of the fuel system, why not include the injectors? - Respectfully

    • @maineboatguy
      @maineboatguy  3 года назад

      I typically clean the injectors if there's a running issue (i have an injector cleaner) but this engine was overflowing fuel due to a bad needle valve. Ran perfect after this service.

    If you wish her to start up first time every time, remove the IAC idle air control valve assembly and give her a good clean with brake cleaner or carb cleaner.

    Hello everyone, I went yesterday to a friend's place and one of his 2002 10hp Honda EFI motors he said runs but died after 5 minutes. So he tried to start it and had one pop but that was it? Cleaned the fuel filer and water sensor bowls and checked the fuel pump. Looked at the VST but stopped there. Any suggestions on moving forward to get this motor firing again? Thanks Tim

      Just got a update on this to share with everyone. My friend got his 130hp running by cleaning this unit. He's going to do the same on the twin before it has the same issue. This worked for his issue which was a non-starter due to fuel issue. Imagine how much this would have cost at a shop$$ Thanks for putting this video out. The owner is super happy👍

      Should be an overflow hose and connects to the bottom engine cowling , hard for me to tell without seeing it but should connect to a fitting on top of the VST

      Russell zito most likely the needle valve is sticking, you should replace it and clean the seat out with a cotton swab.

    Hey Maine Boat Guy, do you know if the 130HP is a similar fuel setup? Having a rough idle (miss?) on a 130 plus what feels like a miss at low speeds. Full throttle seems fine.

      Maksim Trofimovich should be a similar set up. I would recommend replacing filters if you haven't already, send out fuel injectors for cleaning and replace your spark plugs.
