By the way, Sony didn’t make No Way Home. They paid 75% of the budget and distributed it. Marvel Studios had creative control, they made No Way Home. That’s why No Way Home is a good movie and not some Sony garbage like Venom, Morbius or Bloodshot.

It's Avi Arad's fault. Just wants to sell toys and doesn't understand zilch about comic book movies. He ruined spider man 3, He ruined the amazing spider-man 2 and he will ruin Tom's spiderman if feige will lose control over him.
The only reason Tom's spiderman worked was because feige was the cook in the kitchen. I always thought Amy Pascal was as bad as Avi Arad but with the spider-verse movie and her successful co-operation with feige it seems like she is just malleable by who she is working with. Feige is bringing out her good sides while Arad exposes the bad sides. I think if they got rid of Arad and put her in charge, with the guidence she got from feige during Tom's run and it showed in spider-verse, she can really pull this off.
I’m honestly thinking that everything that people say about this feels like it was chopped up. I’m wondering if this movie was supposed to have tons of MCU references that they had to cut out at the last minute.
this is why I'm not a fan of these stand alone villian movies. They have to come across likeable so they sacrifice the whole villian part of the villian. The Joker is the exception and should be the formula.
i think theyve gotta stop giving anti heros their own films. Venom is NOT a god film its just fun on the first viewing, but good god sony needs to learn
I read an article that said Sony never consulted Kevin Feige. That explains why the multiverse post credit issues exist. Sony for some reason thinks the know better and clearly don't. Is Sony run by the same people at Warner Bros.?
Saw Morbius last night. I loved it!! Yeah, the end credit stuff was kinda phoning it in but, I really had a good time! I would like to see some prosthetic and more practical special effects but I dug the story, enjoyed Leto as Morbius, and enjoyed Matt Smith as well!! I would have preferred more of a fight at the end but...happy!
I've been calling it "Snorbius". What a slog. It dragged and I was falling asleep. The crazy editing kept my attention, and the climax was utter nonsense. People are going to love this movie, and that's fine. But man, what a clusterfuck.
I've got a much worse opinion of this movie, but there's a lot I agree with. Leto was far from the worst part, I did like Matt Smiths performance but his character's motivations aren't even paper thin, and I would have been ok with the VFX if they were just a visual representation of how leto perceived the world, but then you see the same effects in security footage so that inky effect is actually happening. but by far, my biggest gripe is the editing. it feels like who ever edited the movie absolutely destroyed it, the beginning was at a break neck speed that I just never cared, and then the ending did the same thing but with even worse plot beats. I will also say the very start at the cave made no sense to me. how the hell did that thing catch the bats, why didn't they kill him, so many questions that brought me out of the movie. Also, pretty sure the post credits scene was reworked footage they cut from the film and then just stuck SURPRISE CHARACTER in, and thats why leto's reaction is so disconnected
I honestly feel bad for this film because I actually like the villain more and morbius cheated that wasn't even a fight very disappointed they had two years to fix this what a waste
It's messy, but but so was Venom 1&2, but i liked it. Ill just ignore the end credit scenes from now on. Only real complaint i had was the dance scene. Also, i noticed Gibson had a bloody neck with a white cloth on it in one scene. Maybe he got bit in a deleted scene?
I feel like the movie we got isn't what we were supposed to get during the original release date considering the post credits scene and who was in it and where they originally appeared in the trailers. Add to the fact that a certain Spidey film from last year wasn't even filmed yet when Morbius originally planned to be released.
I went in with really low expectations and actually thought it was decent. I do think it could’ve added another 15 minutes or so though, thought it ended quite abruptly and some storylines went nowhere. Post Credits scenes were nonsense though.
Do you think the issue is that No Way Home decided there were no superheroes in the Venomverse? They had to remove all MCU/Spider-Man references. I really wish that Sony would work more closely with the MCU on its Marvel properties. I know Sony wants to be its own thing, but it would be better if you COULD have Blade or Deadpool or X-men could crossover. Also, Dr. Strange was supposed to come out before Spider-Man and they had to change a lot in reshoots. Maybe something crucial changed and no one told the Morbius crew.
I literally spent more time seeing what other movie plot points were in this movie than watching it. It's basically Venom but with more science and no venom. In fact just watch batman begins instead and if you've seen the movie you know why.
Glad to hear the love for Jared Harris. Absolutely incredible actor. I watched Mad Men in it's entirety with my ex girlfriend and his character was perhaps my favorite in the whole series. I found his performance so compelling and he is only in like 2 and a half seasons of a six season show. Talk about having an impact.
I didn't find it to be "terrible", but it's certainly not good.. lol, there's no sugar-coating it.. this is a mediocre movie, and there's no excuse for it.. as Rob stated, how do you screw this up ? Vampire lore + comic book source material + plus Sony backing.. should've easily been a hit. If Morbius was released 20 years ago or if it was a SyFy original flick now, might've been better received.. but this was clearly a FAIL.. by the middle of the movie i was basically waiting for it to end. By contrast, a recently released film called "The Outfit" was a solid, entertaining, engaging movie which i really enjoyed ; low-budget flick with no crazy FX.. apples VS oranges but it really illustrates the quality difference with good writing / directing
I honestly feel we would’ve got a better movie if it came out when it was supposed to. Like she said, a lot of these studios had a lot of time on their hands with films that were waiting to come out and they obviously decided to go in and cut this movie up for whatever reason. I’m not sure if it would’ve helped but I think there’s a version of this film that was made that would’ve been at least a bit better
I'm all in with John here. Hadn't even seen his comments on Matt Smith before I made them. We are completely synchronized on this movie. Liked what he liked including the visual effects and hated and could not make sense of the same things. I don't often agree with you but when we do it's usually 100%. That's funny to me.
There’s a kid in the movie Morbius puts in an induced coma that I’m assuming died by the end, did they address that in the movie, because that’s a wild continuity error that’s gonna make me sad if it’s true.
Haven't watched this, probably watch it when it gets to Netflix. I watched the after credits scene on RUclips and it felt like a bad reshoot, you can't even see Michael Keaton and he probably did it in a booth reading his lines that were written in like five minutes with no thought in mind trying to probably avoid something else they were trying to do, in a moment that felt like it's part of a comic book, which proves that not everything that can work in a comic can work in a movie. Feels like they didn't know what to do. I just hope after that scene and what I hear about this movie that sony will make a new deal with marvel for spiderman, because everything good about that spiderman and all that massive box office is all Kevin Feige.
Wasn't bad imo.. wasn't great either but after everyone saying it's terrible, I went in with low expectations and glad to find out it wasn't as bad as I expected. It's a comic book movie, wasn't any worse than the venom films.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Morbius. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Leto's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Morbius truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in his existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jared Leto's genius unfolds itself on their film screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Morbius tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

And John is now entering the stages of denial I got after watching Rise of Skywalker.
Morbius is worse than Catwoman
Blade and spiderman were needed for this movie like the amazing spiderman cartoon
I’d have been down to see this for Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man trilogy, though I don’t want Jared sending Tom and Mahershala used condoms.
By the way, Sony didn’t make No Way Home. They paid 75% of the budget and distributed it. Marvel Studios had creative control, they made No Way Home. That’s why No Way Home is a good movie and not some Sony garbage like Venom, Morbius or Bloodshot.
Sony made the top 3 spider man movies ever, they made a bad decision that doesn’t they are a garbage company
Into The Spider-Verse bruh lol
@@darkgate33 Assuming you are talking about Spideman 1, 2 and Into the spiderverse, Kevin Feige was involved in the first two . They are not a garbage company, but the studio makes a ton of bad decisions when the right people are not involved.
So? They are still Sony movies lol.
Still Sony Movies regardless. Yall be sucking mcu so much like they can do no wrong and that they're perfection, it's getting old. You mcu fanboys are hella toxic and annoying af at times.
It's Avi Arad's fault. Just wants to sell toys and doesn't understand zilch about comic book movies. He ruined spider man 3, He ruined the amazing spider-man 2 and he will ruin Tom's spiderman if feige will lose control over him.
It been his fault for over 20 years
The only reason Tom's spiderman worked was because feige was the cook in the kitchen.
@@IdoShmido the Sony email leaks showed the issue with the whole operation
I think the best way to sum it up is Avi Arad is in the toy making bussiness, not the movie making one.
Yoooooo you should check out my review for why I kinda like Morbius BRAH!!!
WB post credit scene?
Saw Morbius last night. I loved it!! Yeah, the end credit stuff was kinda phoning it in but, I really had a good time! I would like to see some prosthetic and more practical special effects but I dug the story, enjoyed Leto as Morbius, and enjoyed Matt Smith as well!! I would have preferred more of a fight at the end but...happy!
Lol
This sucks. I’m hearing the studio might’ve been meddling with the film since it feels like there’s scenes missing
Yea no shit
They probably messed with venom 2 also
I honestly feel bad for this film because I actually like the villain more and morbius cheated that wasn't even a fight very disappointed they had two years to fix this what a waste
Me too! Haha
I can't imagine seeing the Morbius trailer and being excited.
After all of this... I am still going to see it... and the go see The Batman again to cleanse my soul
John trying to find anything to be positive about lmao 😂
I went in with really low expectations and actually thought it was decent. I do think it could’ve added another 15 minutes or so though, thought it ended quite abruptly and some storylines went nowhere. Post Credits scenes were nonsense though.
They definitely chopped at least 15 minutes off at the end bc i heard the end was rather abrupt
I think that’s what ultimately made this movie a clusterfuck trainweck.
They could've just made a straight up vampire movie, it would've been a hit
I literally spent more time seeing what other movie plot points were in this movie than watching it. It's basically Venom but with more science and no venom. In fact just watch batman begins instead and if you've seen the movie you know why.
I thought it was a cool movie.
After the three Marvel live action Spider Man films, The Into the Spider Verse, and the two Venom films.... This is a real disappointment.
this has more views than john's no way home review haha
This probably has more views than the amount of people who went to see it in theatres.
All I'll say while not seeing Morbius yet, there's a lot of stuff in No way Home that didn't make sense.
Trying to connect it to any movie was risky.
It’s not the WORST movie I ever seen…but it wasn’t good. I definitely had low expectations, and too bad it met them.
I thought Morbius was alright, I've certainly seen much worse
Lets get a Morbius vs Blade film going.
There’s a kid in the movie Morbius puts in an induced coma that I’m assuming died by the end, did they address that in the movie, because that’s a wild continuity error that’s gonna make me sad if it’s true.
What happened to the actual quick out of the theater reviews? they haven’t been up starting with Lost City
The movie was straight up ass
there's a LOT of trying to pick microscopic things out that are good, which tells you it is NOT good at all.
I wonder if somebody decided to "improve" the movie while it was finished but delayed... (in german: Verschlimmbessert)
Wasn't bad imo.. wasn't great either but after everyone saying it's terrible, I went in with low expectations and glad to find out it wasn't as bad as I expected. It's a comic book movie, wasn't any worse than the venom films.
It was bad, let's not beat around the bush.
@@jackscalibur maybe by MOST MCU standards but this is a SONY comic book movie. Different standards, should be different expectations, still very watchable
@@gilla87 That's...stupid. It's not like Sony is completely incompetent. They gave us Into The Spider verse.
@@jackscalibur dude I know.. but thats also stupid.. lets argue they are the pinnacle of film making by bringing up their most critically acclaimed film, yeah ok... they also gave us the fem Ghostbusters, venoms 1 and 2
@PiffMasterG pretty much
I liked the movie. Even knowing about the reviews. Was great in Dolby cinema 👍
April 1st was yesterday
Eh long lame joke dude
Wolverine also showing Logan as child. Venom disapointed me, that post credit scene should have end of movie and not post credit scene. I like Fantastic Four more, even the second.
This movie was definitely not watchable!🤦🏽♂️😂It was straight trash.😂🙌🏽🗑
Thank you for giving your honest opinions & criticisms unlike most people on the internet. Yes this is definitely a flawed movie, but I really enjoyed myself! It was honestly good that my expectations were so low. Give the movie a chance everyone! You might like it more than you think.
