New HomeSchooling Mom of 3 and Working Full-time - My Experience so far

Welcome to our channel.
I am a new homeschooling Mom of 3. My kids are ages 7,9, & 11.
I've wanted to homeschool for a while but the kids finally got on board on their own making things easier to decide in the end.
I wanted to come and share our experience so far. We started mid-end of August. So, we're about 4 months in.
The first couple of months were super rough because the transition from public school to homeschool was a lot for the kids to unlearn and adjust to.
Now, the kids are closer, kinder, and joke more with one another. They have so much more compassion for others. They're full of questions and if I don't know the answer we find it together.
They are learning life/home skills, mindfulness, the basic core subjects in public school, responsibility, and accountability and so much more.
Our whole family dynamic has changed for the better and I love it.
I work full time and we homeschool about 4-5hrs a day. Typically Monday through Saturday. On occasions we take a week day off depending on how involved we were throughout the week or if something comes up and causes us to change our schedule. We do not sit and do our 5 hours in one sitting. It is stretched throughout the day to keep the kids engaged and interested. Which, naturally, mine love and we actually end up doing a little more than intended because we found a way to make things so fun you don't want to stop learning.
Like most new parents to homeschooling I bought a couple programs to use as well, like Reading Eggs and IXL. We still utilize them, but only for a short part of the day. We not to spend too much time in front of a screen. Especially because that's literally how I spend my workday, in front of a screen.
