when I was in high school, we had a friend named Vlad. a tall and pale guy with redish brown hair, a cool dude. we used to smoke cigars and weed in the woods not far from the campus. he was the guy who often had sachet of good stuff with him and he was also the one who smoked a lot of weed, that's why we called him Vlad The Inhaler. not long after he was known by that moniker by the whole campus and it made him famous to other people as well.
As a romanian I am proud of this video ! Vald was a cruel but a fair ruler. He had the balls to stand up to the ottoman witch means Massive balls 😂😂 They sais that during hus reign you could leave a bag full of gold in the market square, come back 3 days later and you will find it in the same place 🤣🤣🤣🤣 cause nobody dared to do shit cause they knew the punnishment. You did agood job with this video bro ! Proud of you 😊 !
@Auron1Roxas2 you don't know what you are talking about dude... the killing people for having an afair part is not true... there was a lot of false propaganda made by his enemies that made him out to be far worse than he was however most things Briefed said were true. It was just if somebody killed your relative they would be impaled... it was a death for a death. Vlad a monster ? No. He was a great ruler a ruler who had the balls yo stand up to the Ottoman empire and fought for his pepople until he died. That is LITERALLY what a hero is. Did you watch the whole video and listen to hkw he stood up to them or are you just browsing the comment section looking to contradict someone ? Vlad Tepesh wasn't given as a "Hostage" in the modern sense of the word, it was more of a trade and a way to ensure peace. Sons were swapped so they could learn, marry and create allies between nations. It just so happened that Vlad was treated like crap by his given father and brothers hence his hatred of them. It's covered in a great book called: Vlad the Impaler a life from beginning to end.
Great video! You missed a couple things like Vlad and Radu's older brother Mircea II who ruled briefly before him and was killed by the boyar families by blinding and then burying him alive. This stoked Vlad's hatred of the boyars and Saxons

Vlad was probably not insane in the clinical sense but he was definitely the hard product of some hard times…and by some accounts, his brutality may have single handedly stopped the spread of Islam into Eastern Europe. Mehmet was not squeamish by any means but the sight of 20,000 of his men on stakes left an impression on him that might have lasted the rest of his life. Thanks again for this great video!

In Romania Vlad the Impaler is considered a hero even though we shiver at his cruelty as well. But looking at things from a historical perspective, he took drastic measures to fight a very powerful enemy, the Ottoman Empire and he refused to bow down and renounce the Christian faith. Betrayal by local nobility was always a recurring theme and many of our heroes died by being betrayed and assassinated by the said nobility at the behest of outside powers. They were cruel to the peasants they were leading and many of them were cowards and traitors, choosing to sell out their own country just to keep their power. That is why nobody here sheds any tears for them that they were impaled by Vlad. He did not play the classic political game, he fought evil with evil. As you mentioned he also made reforms by drastically punishing immoral behaviour, thieves being especially targeted. It is said that at public wells they would leave a gold chalice for people to drink water with and nobody would dare steal it. An interesting fact you left out. When he attacked the Ottoman camp, he and his men were disguised in Ottoman clothes which caused a huge confusion in the Ottoman ranks. The attack was brief, the Valachians retreated and the Ottomans kept fighting each others for hours before realising what happened. Great video as always, thank you for your hard work and amazing delivery!
Love this video bro but i actually have a challenge for you. I know you usually make videos on real gods and such but i would love to see you make a video on elder scrolls gods or daedra❤
Vlad took care of the scammers and beggers, he gathered them all in a barn and said hey look free food and drink come and eat your fill. Man then barred the doors and lit it ablaze, what needs to happen now. Crime only exists when the govt allows it to exist.
Most Def a hero Saint Vladimir was a Ottoman Genocery , he fought for Ottoman because he was in besarabia and was raised in court of sultan and impaled more crusaders than Muslims but when it came down to it he was Christian and fought an entire empire, he was smart , he put horse shoes on backwards so it looked like u came but really left , he made castles that move w the regional earthquakes, real Dragon , what a saint should be , even fought w a sword equal to katana Turkish kilig

No
One of my favorite minor figures from history to read on. Very complicated. Very fascinating.
