    How often should I water my palms? I had 2 Sylvester palms installed about 3 weeks ago about 6 feet tall. The outside fronds are dying or dead but inside fronds are still green and look good. I’m a little worried. They told me to water twice a day heavy each time. Is that too much? Any advice helps thanks

    • @dirtyhandscleanmoney7373
      @dirtyhandscleanmoney7373  3 года назад +3

      Twice a day might be too much
      But keep the same schedule
      Always mornings and evenings never during full sun
      Add Milorganite fertilizer
      Really helps

    When staining (using natural products), if color does not result in something you like, is it safe to re-sanded and re-apply stain again (either to make it lighter or darker depending on preference)? Just bought 6ft and it’s not nice and yellow/orange to give it that pineapple look 😢

    • @dirtyhandscleanmoney7373

      It doesn’t harm the tree but it’s never good to stain a palm
      We do have some “stains” but it’s a mix so it’s not as concentrated as regular stains are
      It can be removed with a pressure wash

    How to get a palm weevil infestation...

    • @dirtyhandscleanmoney7373
      @dirtyhandscleanmoney7373  Год назад +1

      Haha
      Where’d you get that info?
      Any palm is prone to weevils
      Specifically Phoenix Palms
      We spray our palms with pesticides and fungicides at least so they don’t have issues the first couple months
      As with anything and everything you have to take care of what you have
      Whether it be in your landscape or in your own house

    • @vineleak7676
      @vineleak7676 Год назад +1

      @@dirtyhandscleanmoney7373 cutting branches that are not completely dry (still sap and living cells) and creating wounds is what attracts weevils, this is true for all trees, this is a technique entomologist use to collect and breed some hard to observe species of Xylophagous Coleoptera by wounding branches and then collecting the infested branches a few months later to breed the beetles. This is especially true for palms and particularly for Phoenix palms who are some of the most heavily pruned palms and this is the reason why ornamental Phoenix palms in the Mediterranean are getting obliterated by red palm weevil, by pruining them we are effectively breeding weevils in mass... A Phoenix palm that does not get trimmed at all is going to be much less attractive to weevils.
