"Heaven's Gate is one of my favourite films. It's an orgy of equipment with grandiose images and landscape shots, the film takes its time, but the storyline is so big that I would have loved to watch Cimino's 5-hour cut as well.
I haven't seen it, but from the scenes here: It looks like a grandiose film like the older period movies and of similar length. I love those usually, so this one shot right up my "to watch list". :)
I hope you find more broader appeal, I really enjoy style of your videos. It always fun to find out something new about film history. Like truely new. Heaven's Gate look interesting, the only thing that stopping me from forming my own opinion is that it was directed by the guy who made The Deer Hunter. That's incredibly 70s film with a bunch of weird decisions and poorly done research culturewise.
@@mintybadgerproductions Coppola was an Innovative Filmmaker & Scorsese a Great Director….l think Filmmakers are driven more by their Right Brain Hemisphere “World” & Directors by their Left one!

Some of my favorite movies came out during this era and the Indiewood-era movement.
Super video. in Italy it is impossible to have great videos about cinema
Heavens Gate obviously inspired the moniker for Costner’s 95 ocean epic “Kevin’s Gate,” or as some like to call it: “Fishtar.”

I feel like Heaven's Gate (a movie I hadn't heard before) was one of the key inspirations for the design of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Scorsese is the only one talented enough to pull off "cocaine made a movie".
I'd put Coppola up there too, 'Apocalypse Now' had such an infamous production it spawned its own documentary.

That's not how you pronounce "poseur."
