- Paul Andersen starts with a brief description of asexual and sexual reproduction. He explains how meiosis ensures variation in the next generation. He describes the important structures in the male and female reproductive system. He explains how the menstrual cycle ensure the success of the released ovum. He also shows how a zygote becomes a blastula, gastrula, embryo and fetus.

I watched your videos for AP Biology, college General Biology, and college Genetics. I am now watching your videos to help me study for the biology portion of the MCATs. Thank you so much you have helped me for several years and always made science even more fun and interesting! You are such an inspiration!!!
what med school you in now?
@@dj_m5646 the wiped tailed lizard isn't just an egg with out sperm their Gemetes are fussed one nucleus's produces gene expression spacial information of parent other other builds the proteins and yoke. And what about the sperms Lympids gene activators
Great video, however the cervix sits below the uterus and at the apex of the vaginal canal. Just to clarify.
Hi Mr. Andersen, I really enjoy your videos, and not only because they are fun and easy to understand but because every time I'm in trouble with a subject you are the one who always helps me trough it ! Thanks a lot!
Hi Mr. Anderson, I just want to point out @ 3'37", the cervix is the lower end of the uterus that extends into the vagina, not the opening of the vagina. Thank you as always for the awesome videos.
@amiraleu7823 thank you for pointing this out! As a long-time fan of Bozeman Science, I was surprised to notice a mistake. Also surprised to see that this isn't the top comment!!!!
You are fantastic Bozeman - I LOVE LOVE your podcasts and use them almost daily in both my teaching and in my learning. My students also love you. Thank you for yoru fantastic - real world postings. I am curious as to what you use to do these presentations? WHat program allows you to write in it and such? Prezi?
Catharine- I am on a Mac and so I use Screenflow. I have put together a video that shows my method. If you google educational screencast you should find my walkthrough. Hope this helps. -Paul
Just over 24 hours until finals, so I'm here at 1AM watching my favorite RUclips A&P tutor :)
Your videos should be viewed with every lesson taught in AP Biology in every school nation wide. A great help, thanks so much.
Just like to let you know that you basically help me understand all the aspects of my biology course i don't understand when my teachers explain it too me. Keep up the awesome work you're changing lives!
The cervix is at the opening of the uterus, not at the bottom of the vagina where you drew the arrow in your diagram
You nailed it! Spot on. Helped so much for my anatomy 2 final. Thanks so much!!
@MsFelineFan Duh. Thanks for that. I have added an annotation.
May I just say, I have learned more from you in a day from your videos then I have learned from my teacher throughout this entire year! You are going to help me pass my finals! Thank you so much!!!!
From what I have been studying, during ovulation a secondary oocyte is released, not an ovum. Ovum is a term used only once the sperm has penetrated.
He made some other mistakes when talking about the female genitalia aswell :-/.
in biology we learned that an ovum is just a mature egg... which is capable of being fertilized. It doesnt mean its already been fertilized.
I've learned the entire curriculum in the last 5 days, thanks so much.
"this is like a Clone War"
+Malek Ajam i think we all thought of the star wars reference
Your videos have been helpful! Thanks so much :)
all my homies love mr anderson 🙏
honest to god, these are the best videos for education,
Love your video series, you are right in line with our teaching material.
Love you!🤓👍💕💕 very nice and clear explaination
At 2:57, you said the glands are neutralizing the pH inside the "vagina," I think you meant to say "vas deferens"?
By the way, I'm actually using your videos to help me study for the MCAT (in addition to other review books). Thanks so much!
He is right, inside the vagina is very acidic, so germs can hardly grow. However, it is not sperm-friendly, thus those secretions work as chemical buffers to safeguard those sperm to meet the egg for fertilization.
Where's the video for the development part?
You are doing a really good job!
The book also has many great examples you can use when teaching.
keep up the good content, mate!
Hi! There is an error. He shows the cervix being at the opening of the vagina towards to the outside of the body, but it should be located above the vagina and below the uterus.
I think you’ve circled the cervix in the wrong place.. lol! (3:30 +) But a good/ great video overall so thank you ;)
This helped me study for my health class, thanks! :)
No need for the correction at 3:01 Mr Andersen the prostate gland does secrete alkaline fluid to neutralize acidity in urethra (due to urine) as well as the seminal fluid itself and the acidity of the vagina.
where does mitosis occur in the female reproductive system?
in the ovary. oogonia divide by mitosis to form primary oocytes
I love learning about the uterus thanks
i don't :)
Thank you for helping me pass biology :)
I only wish you would have concluded your video with a brief overview of the last steps of formation after gastrulation, which are neural tube formation, heart begins beating, and then breathing practice.
just wondering, is the blastula also known as a blastocyte??
Mia Love Blastocytes are "the cells" of blastula. They are not the same thing.
Yeahhhhhhh that's not exactly where the cervix is. Lol..
Lol right. 🤣
I was about to comment that
I still don't understand why this was overlooked :/
Can someone tell me what implant actually means? Is it just when the egg is fertilized in the uterus?
It seems to me that he was referring to when the fertilized egg ingrains itself into the endometrium of the uterus.
**fallopian tube
Good job! You just made my lecture much easier!
Could someone explain why do we get a peak of LH and FSH, LH in particular, just before day 14 in the menstrual cycle?
LH stimulates the follicle to release the mature egg.
It is cervix at the end of uterus ,rather than vagina. That is vagina is on the outer side
Thank you so much amazing intro.
my biology teacher made me watch this
He marked cervix in the wrong spot at 3:37
Lol that's not where the cervix is 😂 I wonder how many people have lost marks on exams because of this video lol.
Nice Overview!
Can you put the sub title ???
that is another cook
Very helpful!
very helpful comment
Good job
HAHA... You might want to review where exactly the cervix is located! you circled the opening to the vagina! It's the area where the vagina and the uterus connect, but of course there is more detail to it then just that... :)
Hi Mr Anderson, I was wondering if you can give me the link to the image that you used at the start of 5.05? Thank you very much.
This guy is better than bill the science guy
NOBODy is better the Bill Nye other than Vicman you must not be a true 90's kid OUTTA HERE!! WITH THAT BS
The cervix is labeled in the wrong place!

Star wars the clone wars
You said 100s of thousands of eggs, they have around 400, think you just had that small mistake, love your videos
No...no mistake there
That is the vulva and not the cervix.
Thanks
He doesn't know where the cervix is???
helpful..........thanx :-)
