+Mick Michaelson Snapped an arm or leg? The instructor in the video is great and for several reasons. If you snap someone's arm or leg intentionally, you can be sued and/or arrested. Humility is important for many reasons, including legal ones. LOL! Great video and I agree that the instructor has great class. I would love to be his student.
I guess there is the law suit/douche bag counter to being a nerd and invading someone's gym in the middle of class. I live in Brazil, things get handled differently out here. No law suits, to say the least. Most gyms have a liability waver you must sign before training. I don't think that was the case here. Sign the waver, can't sue. then it's just an inverted heel hook to surgery to learn some humility. Most Brazilians (and Americans actually) would at least choke you out. They would not care about being sued (I've seen it happen many times). The guy brought his cronies in to the gym to show off. I doubt he would later sue after being served up. Mute point, what I was saying was he DIDN'T but COULD have and most WOULD. Walk in to any Gracie Barra, ATT, BTT, Alliance, Chuteboxe, Macaco etc. gym and try that shit. 98% of the time you will be visiting a local hospital or at least a drug store. If you suffer from vaginitis of the soul, a lawyer as well...
Mick Michaelson I agree with you Mick, but telling someone they have vaginitis is not a valid legal defense. LOL In the USA, you most certainly can sue anyone for medical bills if you cause them bodily harm, intentionally or otherwise. No instructor wants to go through the hassle even if they win the legal battle.

Glad to see that it was a civil challenge, in the spirit of sport. I'd love to join, but I can't relocate at the moment.

As someone who's wrestled for a while, and later gone into jui jitsu I can say that I definitely surprised and frustrated other people who were supposed to be at or above my level. At the same time, it's not like I could beat the very best in the gym starting out. It's a different sport, and even though wrestling gave me good fundamentals I still had to learn the sport. It's not a matter of which martial art beats which because the real answer is that the one who's more skilled is going to win. Wrestling doesn't teach how to submit or choke. Jui Jitsu doesn't teach explosive power and throws. Neither martial art is the perfect be all end all, but both are incredibly respectable and practical and should be treated as such. In this video we see a master of Jui Jitsu humbling a wrestler with far less experience. The lesson to learn is respect. It's not that Jui Jitsu beats wrestling, or that wrestling is useless. It's to learn that you can't underestimate your opponent like the young man did.
@@coach1332 You missed the point. Also, it's grappling which gives a solid fundamental to fighting and mixed martial arts. Jui Jitsu is also considered to be grappling, and it's proven to dominate since the Gracie family 'bruh bruh'.
@@thiagoribeiro021 You missed the point of my comment, and put on display how little you actually know about fighting. There is no end all be all greatest fighting style. UFC and MMA has put that on display. The point of the comment was to remind you that ego is the greatest obstacle in a fighter's way.
BJJ is such a beautiful sport,I been training for 5 years and they have really saved my life in real fights along with kick boxing....it's nice knowing the fact that I was fighting against opponents with no strategy and intelligence...y'all people I recommend y'all to train it really helps mentally, physically and in many situations.
You are the most patient and gracious person I’ve ever seen to be challenged by a bonehead, especially in the middle of your class. Good job not hurting the guy.
Damn that dude wasn't gonna tap for some reason. He was gonna let you break his arm and choke him out. Some people need to learn to humble themselves and understand they can't be a hot headed fool on the mat. Good thing you were nice to him getting choked out is much preferred to a broken arm.
Presumably, he didn’t walk in with the goal of learning about BJJ. Seems like he wanted to show how skilled he was, hence, going directly to a full-on challenge with his friends watching. I doubt he went in there hoping to show off how quickly he could be defeated. Must have taken him by surprise when his brain and body went into panic as he realized things weren’t going the way he planned. He chose to protect his pride over protecting his body parts.
Your leadership skills combined with the humbleness that testifies to your experience and self confidence, allowed this guy to thoroughly realise that there are no shortcuts in jujitsu. I admire that you could have easily embarassed him, however you taught with respect and honor, which may hopefully become the catalyst for him to return. Bravo! (No pun intended!)
I was fortunate enough to attend a Texas No Gi seminar with this 10th Planet Professor in Austin in 2019. BMac was my favorite. That decision did not come easy. All instructors there had their own magic tricks to put us in awe. I think it was his sense of humor and his style of teaching. Once again thank you for the knowledge.
Old timer me just blundered onto this video. 20 to 45yrs ago I was a decent wrestler, if you'd been around then,or I was younger now I'd sure like having you teach me some handy tricks. My hat is off to you for your skill& for not hurting the kid. I say Well Done sir!
You're a really humble guy. You cite all your Tec and reference who taught you them. The guy seemed like he was very used to a wrestling environment and really didn't have a submission game. This video is actually very good because these are effective transitions and submissions that I should try to practice. A lot going on in this video. Cheers.
Dude this happened when i was the instructor for the university of Wisconsin mma club. Buff ass dude walks in, says "who's the instructor?" Forcefully. I'm looking around like "ya, where is that guy?" I ask him what his skills are, what he's looking for, he replied "I won the title at state last year in wrestling, so if i can beat the head gut i know I'm good." So I ask if he'd ever singe any jiu jitsu or submission wrestling and he says no...... I them tell him "if you can prevent me from tapping you inside one minute, you win." Got him with a triangle in like 15 seconds.....
joeyruh so did you jump on his shoulders to execute the choke instantly or did you start the fight with his head between your legs? Because rener fucking Gracie couldnt go from a whistle to a locked gogoplata in 15 seconds 😂
Does this happen a lot to you guys? I had it happen to me one time in my entire active training career, and even that, I have to say, was once too much, You never know what to expect and if something could escalate. You handled it really well. I applaud your efficiency AND your restraint.
Thanks, man. This kind of stuff actually does happen to us a lot. I think it's because we are inside of a workout facility and a lot of the weight lifter/body builder types want to give us a go.
The world of MMA is becoming more and more popular. Now more and more people learn several different styles of fighting. Greco-Roman, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido...before people only learned boxing, maybe kick boxing and the more typical Martial Arts like Karate, Judo, Taekwondo and Kung Fu, but professional fighters and wrestlers are learning many more things these days. This is a competitive world and you need to have an edge over your competitors, so the more stuff you know, the better.
TheSteinbitt I still don't get it, it's the name of a Martial Art.I'm sure it's spelled correctly and I don;t see what's funny about the name "Aikido".
Anxo Fernandez Just because its so useless, its basically magical thinking, and whenever I look it up on youtube, there are only vids of guys sparring extremely light, and doing shit that doesn't work IRL on each other.
@@ericcraig3875 nah he's just out classed. Wrestlers have little to no submission game. Their ONLY focus is getting your back to the ground. So even if they get to a dominate position. If they have no submission training, never trained with striking involved. There's not much they can do. Wrestling is great for learning how to get to a dominate position but that's about it. So it wouldn't have mattered if he had more experience or not.
+10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur That's really cool of you and you seem like a good instructor man. I'm a south Alabamian myself and one of the most defining moments in my identity and life was down here over a decade ago doing a 'tae kwon do' (but really mixed martial arts, because we had an amazing instructor who studied and trained hard in other classes himself- jiu jitsu, kung fu, maybe some I didn't know or can't remember - heavy focus on grappling and non-point / contact sparring). I know you know, but I just think it's great what you teach the boys and adult students. It's been years since I've trained and I'm not and don't claim to be billy-badass, but I just think that a really good instructor and quality training in grappling and sparring can teach a man a lot about themselves and enlighten / empower them as to their place in the world while offering a rote confidence to change their perspective and even avoid fights. At least that was my experience, in the years after training, there were more than one time punches were being thrown and I could defend myself without hurting the person or even throwing a punch, more still that I was able to NOT fight, because I didn't need to fight for my ego. The benefits to what you are teaching these boys and men are much deeper than 'fighting'. I think that's awesome and glad to see good instructors in my state.
+Nexocidal I'm a wrestler and I challenged the instructor to a roll in my first class. wasn't being a dick, I just wanted him to kick my ass and submit me so I know what it feels like. needless to say that happened, but he was super nice, and while he was kicking my ass he explained to me how he was doing it, so I learned a lot.

Mick Michaelson
I agree with you Mick, but telling someone they have vaginitis is not a valid legal defense. LOL In the USA, you most certainly can sue anyone for medical bills if you cause them bodily harm, intentionally or otherwise. No instructor wants to go through the hassle even if they win the legal battle.
+10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur Great moves , very powerful , youre very skilled . bravo , you gave him a free lesson how to be humble . im not a bjj practitionner but a judoka , but i respect jj .
Did he join the class after that? LOL. That would be a pretty good sell for most people. Also, I admire the sportsmanship between the two of you. When I saw the video title, I thought it was going to be some jerk that walked in like, "I'll take any of you on!", then somebody gets hurt. Glad to see that it was a civil challenge, in the spirit of sport. I'd love to join, but I can't relocate at the moment.
Hey man if I’m ever in Decatur I’ll definitely drop by. I wish there were more instructors like you around. You’ve got my respect!
oh my gosh what control and professionalism ....amazing post ,,,,bravo the way you handled it
Confer on you, the rank of Jedi knight, the internet does.
That's probably the coolest thing anyone has ever said to me.
"drop in any time. you don't have to fight the instructor right away" XD
Jiu Jitsu has fascinated me since I first saw it used. It is just amazing how patient and respectful just about everybody is that uses it.
That's my patented finishing move... "The wet willy!"
ROFLMFAO! I laughed so loud.
If this happens often, you should really invest in a camera with color, sound and faster framerate. I imagine people would flock to your business if they saw videos like this.
Agree
great idear
penis
pashtin wow !your first word?
No I just hate fedor
I love all the 10thplanet names XD Its like those restaurant order synonyms hahahaha. For a second I really thought the wet willy was an official 10thplanet move XD
I expected him to.. wet his willy and go backmount.. but this was Hilarious aswell =p
ZoroconStudios the title holders prove that wrestling is dominate bruh bruh
@@coach1332 You missed the point. Also, it's grappling which gives a solid fundamental to fighting and mixed martial arts. Jui Jitsu is also considered to be grappling, and it's proven to dominate since the Gracie family 'bruh bruh'.
@@coach1332 Wow, did you use your whole brain for that one...?
wrestling is kids play if compared to jiu jitsu, a master bjj makes a wrestler with no bjj skill taps in 5 to 10 seconds.
@@thiagoribeiro021 You missed the point of my comment, and put on display how little you actually know about fighting. There is no end all be all greatest fighting style. UFC and MMA has put that on display. The point of the comment was to remind you that ego is the greatest obstacle in a fighter's way.
He’s lucky you felt kind that day. You displayed great sportsmanship.
I've watched this masterpiece twice in the past few years and it's just as amazing
You are the most patient and gracious person I’ve ever seen to be challenged by a bonehead, especially in the middle of your class. Good job not hurting the guy.
After he passed out, I would have pulled his pants down and tied his shoelaces together.
He chose to protect his pride over protecting his body parts.
i am a wrestler and as it turns out, a LOT of wrestlers are very much not humble.
You handled this with great class and respect. Awesome representative of jiu jitsu and martial arts. Love it!!!!!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💕💕
You're a class act and a credit to 10th planet and BJJ as a whole. Not sure if I'd have been so nice bro. Well done.
I love this, I don't think he realised how nice you were being to him, which is even more commendable.
"he asks for another roll but this time im heavily drugged chained to a tree blindfolded"
"and he has me in an inverted heel hook while stabbing me with a dirty needle in the sole of my foot."
"...there's also one of his pals shooting me with a tazer..."
Dealt with like a true gentleman. You sir are the definition of a Master (Sensei). Huge respect! Would love to check out the club some time!
Storming gyms has a long history. I think it's a good thing.
JE Moody Let's you know where you're at if you're a lone wolf. Gotta challenge yourself every now and then..
"I gave him a hug cause I love him" lol
Old timer me just blundered onto this video. 20 to 45yrs ago I was a decent wrestler, if you'd been around then,or I was younger now I'd sure like having you teach me some handy tricks. My hat is off to you for your skill& for not hurting the kid. I say Well Done sir!
he's going to go sit in his car and cry...
Year later and I still think he's out there crying
You're a really humble guy. You cite all your Tec and reference who taught you them. The guy seemed like he was very used to a wrestling environment and really didn't have a submission game. This video is actually very good because these are effective transitions and submissions that I should try to practice. A lot going on in this video. Cheers.
Damn 10th planet is stocking guys this smooth in Alabama eh? Chill out Eddie bravo....
10WO
total control of an uncooth barbarian
great demonstration of a self defense that works from any grappling scenario
Still one of my favourite videos on RUclips.
Excellent, man! Very professional, but you also gave him a much needed reality check!
Starts his position after being humbled nuff times by putting the instructor in a headlock?
Seriously??
This video still cracks me up.
Nice job, Brandon. Way to be merciful. The wet willy was priceless!!
This time he wanted to start from a headlock...
As Chael Sonnen was told, Nothing beats Wrestling! Except Jiujitsu! Great video guys!
DUDE YOUR FUCKIN SIGNATURE MOVE IS ACE BRO HAHAHA boss status
Hahahaha this is top notch entertainment!! Glad you didn’t miss the chance to create this gem!
Thank you for sharing! That was interesting and entertaining. The instructor was a gentleman.
Liked and subbed. Much respect. That Ghost escape though!! Mental noting that one. Oss!
K...
joeyruh so did you jump on his shoulders to execute the choke instantly or did you start the fight with his head between your legs?
Because rener fucking Gracie couldnt go from a whistle to a locked gogoplata in 15 seconds 😂
lmfao
@@question2943 ?
Been following on Instagram for about 2 years now and just found this channel. Beautiful work, that man was humbled by love lol
Welcome aboard my guy!
Knowledge at its best. Instructors like him, make champions🙏
Well done dude, you were very restrained here.
Nicely done. That was a highly enjoyable video.
This is why I love 10th Planet, from Josh at 10th Planet to this Jedi master in the Video, love you guys.
Ha ha thanks dude 🙏🏼💕
Excellent video! I hope this gentlemen is satisfied with your qualifications.
Lol!
It is probably an act.
beautiful job Brandon. did he have a tribal tattoo? Maybe his affliction shirt had him feeling tough, bad idea.
+tyler smith ba ha ha!
“Anyway, come on by. 10th planet jiu jitsu in Decatur Alabama.” 😂😂
I have probably revisited this video 10 times in the last 4 years!
Sensei knows his stuff, also a laid back good guy. Glad to know there still some quality m.a. teachers left out there.
+twotetah I appreciate that!
The wet willie ! I’m jealous I need a Signature move
***** No prior experience necessary, any official 10th Planet will be able to cover the fundamental principals of submission grappling
I asked my coach to show me the "wet willy", he told me I was not ready for it's incredible power to shatter people's pride.
he ain't wrong lol
I live in Bahrain and had very little martial arts training in my life. This instructor is amazing I would love to be your apprentice
High school wrestlers are truly dedicated athletes but some of them act like they're human weapons
+Anxo Fernandez aikido lol
TheSteinbitt What's funny?
Anxo Fernandez
aikido
TheSteinbitt
I still don't get it, it's the name of a Martial Art.I'm sure it's spelled correctly and I don;t see what's funny about the name "Aikido".
Anxo Fernandez
Just because its so useless, its basically magical thinking, and whenever I look it up on youtube, there are only vids of guys sparring extremely light, and doing shit that doesn't work IRL on each other.
The wet Willy finishing move to add insult to injury is too funny 🤣🤣🤣
Really great technique but the wrestler didn't look very experienced.
That’s because the BJJ guy is so damn good in contrast.
@@Jackholiday1025 yes, he is and the wrestler sucks at wrestling.
@@ericcraig3875 why can't you admit that the jujitsu guys technique is better?
@@ericcraig3875 nah he's just out classed. Wrestlers have little to no submission game. Their ONLY focus is getting your back to the ground. So even if they get to a dominate position. If they have no submission training, never trained with striking involved. There's not much they can do.
Wrestling is great for learning how to get to a dominate position but that's about it.
So it wouldn't have mattered if he had more experience or not.
haha that was great, me and my daughters are going to our 1st workout Friday.
captain blueballz lol wtf
+captain blueballz fuck off loser
nah take the girls clubbing instead turn them into thots
punch drunk fukhead!
Do you still go?
I doubt you'll reply to this, but is this facility still open? I live in the Decatur area and am interested in signing up.
Hey matt. Shoot a message to tenthplanetjiujitsu@gmail.com and I'll set you up with a free class.
brandon
Free class? Better take that opportunity Matt, hope you did ;)
+10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur That was so bad ass, thanks for opening up the awesome uses of jiu jitsu in my eyes. I'm gonna look for some classes.
I respect your attitude, Brandon. I don’t think a lot of people would have the same patience that you have. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
