I have recently been fascinated with Herod Antipas for some reason, and have been looking at all the palaces his father built including Masada fortress. But looking at John the Baptist led me to discover Machaerus. This was the place where John was beheaded that’s still around till this day.
OMW, straight from the get-go, not even one minute into this video, John the Baptiste walking just like you would expect John the Baptist would, drinking a coca-cola!

The Chosen is an amazing show; yet, when we learn all of the intricacies of film making and the challenges encountered by everyone in the cast and crew, the final product is truly miraculous. Whatever impatience and demandingness fans might have in the form of "why can't we see the episodes sooner??" should become muffled and even muted by these weekly updates. :)

Oh my gosh!😖😂I seriously didn't think those were real crickets, until Chris made such a face!!🤣Noah (Andrew) was a champion, and David (JTB) acted like he's really been eating these things all his life! It's amazing how they transformed the warehouse into the different sets they needed. I love watching these videos--thanks TC for keeping us up to date with what's happening on set!🥰

Fyi, John the Baptist was NOT eating bugs and honey, he was eating carobs and honey as in carobs from the locust bean tree. The Greek words used for what John the Baptist was eating was NOT the same words used to mean the bugs but it was referring to the locust bean tree where carob which like dark chocolate comes from. Carobs and honey makes a lot more sense doesn't it? Not only that, carobs are extremely high in antioxidants and loaded with high amounts of nutrients. Also another fact is that honey bees are almost always found living in the locust bean tree, which has a ton of very large thorns and keeps a lot of animals away. The region in which John the Baptist lived is well known to have had locust bean trees growing there.
So excited for season three. I love your show, and my husband loves your show I have told so many people about your show and the feeling that they will feel Watching the show, I feel like all of the people in the Bible are right there with me in the room, especially Jesus keep up the great work. But even that just makes me giggle, and then comes the look on Mary's face when she realizes Jesus is calling Matthew and I'm just grooving in the moment. You guys are amazing. So much love.

I personally don’t believe it was bugs John ate, there is a fruit that’s call locust. And it makes sense John ate it with honey because the locust fruit is powdery and dry but sweet. It make more sense he dip the locust in the honey and ate it.

I adore the series... But I hope that John the baptist's beard is a bit more realistic than the last one! Couldn't concentrate on his story line because of it🤣
It's a good thing to acknowledge the work of the construction crew and set decorators all those working behind the scenes who are doing all the harder work which would be barely notice when the season 3 comes out because the focus then would be on the story line, scripts and dialogues because the teachings of Jesus and the gospel is what must be remembered most importantly.
Having to eat a bug is a classical bit of initiation for any Wildlife rehabilitator. Those of us that have taken injured or sick wild animals, migratory fowl and raptors to try to rehab them enough to go back out to the wild. Usually done at a conference, it is a bit stressful to be called up to the stage for your "snack"!
Growing up in NYC and having lots of street food and even eating food from stands actually in the Subway I'm sure I've eaten a Bug or 2. But Never voluntarily. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day. Dio Ti Benedica. 🌷🌷🌷

I love the talking to actors, and showing some of the sets. And even the crew people with how they handle out of order filming. What I am not fond of is seeing and knowing ahead of time are how the special effects are done. I don't want to watch the scenes in the dungeon, and see the day light, or moonlight coming through the windows, knowing how it's done. When I watch it, I will immediately tell myself that 'it's only white & blue lights outside the windows on a crate'. I know that things have been made to look outside, when it's actually inside, but I don't want to have that be the first thing I think of. Dallas said they reshot the healing of Elam's hand because it creeped some people out, and he didn't want people to be immediately wondering his that special effect was done. But, it was told 'after' the scene aired. Chris & Kris are doing a good job. But I don't want everything revealed ahead of time. Like drawing attention to the cell bars being so far apart that she can climb through them.
We have crickets as a local delicacy (usually cooked as adobo). We don’t pour honey on them, and one must eat them carefully to avoid the leg barbs. Tasty, crisp, and protein-packed!

I’ve always thought this was a mistranslation. It is likely John the Immerser was a member of the Essene sect and a vegetarian. Locust trees are all over Israel and there is a traditional flatbread made from the hulls (not the seeds) of the locust pods. It is sweet because the inner lining apparently takes like honey. I think this is more likely what John the Immerser was eating and not the bug locust.
Please pray for God to intervene and bring my two youngest children home to me safely soon and for their sexual abusers to be STOPPED and prosecuted and unable to hurt them again in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
In my opinion He ate locust the Bean but many people especially Americans never heard of locust the Bean so of course they would believe he ate bugs. I thought it was fruits growing up but found out it’s a bean. We use to just pick and eat it. Locust is a dry powdery bean that kind of l light yellow on the in side it’s very dry and it makes sense he would eat it with honey. I read the Locust trees are suitable for beehives in African .

I love the talking to actors, and showing some of the sets. And even the crew people with how they handle out of order filming. What I am not fond of is seeing and knowing ahead of time are how the special effects are done. I don't want to watch the scenes in the dungeon, and see the day light, or moonlight coming through the windows, knowing how it's done. When I watch it, I will immediately tell myself that 'it's only white & blue lights outside the windows on a crate'. I know that things have been made to look outside, when it's actually inside, but I don't want to have that be the first thing I think of. Dallas said they reshot the healing of Elam's hand because it creeped some people out, and he didn't want people to be immediately wondering his that special effect was done. But, it was told 'after' the scene aired. Chris & Kris are doing a good job. But I don't want everything revealed ahead of time. Like drawing attention to the cell bars being so far apart that she can climb through them.

I’ve always thought this was a mistranslation. It is likely John the Immerser was a member of the Essene sect and a vegetarian. Locust trees are all over Israel and there is a traditional flatbread made from the hulls (not the seeds) of the locust pods. It is sweet because the inner lining apparently takes like honey. I think this is more likely what John the Immerser was eating and not the bug locust.

In my opinion He ate locust the Bean but many people especially Americans never heard of locust the Bean so of course they would believe he ate bugs. I thought it was fruits growing up but found out it’s a bean. We use to just pick and eat it.
Locust is a dry powdery bean that kind of l light yellow on the in side it’s very dry and it makes sense he would eat it with honey. I read the Locust trees are suitable for beehives in African .

@@shepherdsvoice3245 But in some context the same Hebrew or Greek word clearly describes insects, like the plagues of Egypt or the prophecy in Revelation.
