Thank you this was helpful. I ordered one this morning. I can't wait to use it. I have a whole house to paint. We moved into a new construction house and the paint choice and job was cheap and lack luster. I bought my paint color for ceil, doors and wall. I even bought all the equipment but kept procrastinating. I knew the old fashion way would take forever, so I purchased the wagner 5000 after watching a for videos. Now there is no looking back. I can tackle and complete my project with in a day or two instead of weeks.
That's great MyToni72! You will love it for sure! Just remember to play with all the settings and do some test sprays to make sure you like the look before you go after it! Also remember to keep a damp cloth near by to wipe the nozzle every now and again. It can clog and prevent an even paint flow. Can't wait to hear how it goes! Have fun!
Thank you good and pretty ladies you made and sound it so easy. In all fairness last I spray paint was 1974. Now I’m attempting to paint my house I will give a try. Thank you again.
Thanks for your comment and good luck painting your house! That sounds like a big project for sure! It may take a little bit of time to get into your own rhythm using a sprayer, but you'll get it in no time!
Loved the video... I'm having trouble with deciding between wagner flexio 4000 pro control 130 or the flexio 5000 which one would you recommend for interior and exterior walls which one is best?
Thanks so much for watching! To be honest, the Flexio 5000 is the only Wagner sprayer we have used. It does work well for both interior and exterior projects! The Wagner site has a lot of informational videos on their products which may help narrow down your decision.
Great Job!! I just purchased this sprayer and im having trouble choosing colors, could you please tell me the color you used along with the color of the walls? I think im going to try and use the same as you did, looks great!! Sorry couldn't tell if the walkway had a shade or not.
Thanks for your comment S Meg! You'll love that sprayer. It took a little bit of time to figure everything out, but once we got the hang of it, we couldn't stop asking why we hadn't gotten one sooner with the amount of painting projects we do! So, I'm a bit of a paint snob! 😂 I've tried many brands, but the one I kept going back to is Behr at The Home Depot! I wont use anything else now. However, the colors are different brands, but I just had them color matched and mixed right at The Home Depot! Hale Navy for the doors by Benjamin Moore Mindful Grey by Sherwin Williams for the main living area/hallway Pure White by Sherwin Williams for trim work and walls in the master bedroom. Hope this helps. Good luck with your painting project!
As you’ve continued to use this sprayer, have you started to thin your latex paint? I like to brush Benjamin Moore advance since it levels well... wondering what recommendations you have.
Great question! Yes, after using it on more projects, we've noticed that it does spray better when latex paint is thinned a little with water. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching our channel.
Hi, yes the sprayer does use more paint, but it's totally worth it in our opinion to save time! It took a little more than 2 gallons of paint for all of them getting 2 coats. Hope that helps.
Thanks for watching Brian. You're correct. Before beginning to paint on the doors, we did multiple test sprays to set the sprayer to the correct paint flow. On the first door, we were still getting the paint to the right flow. Luckily it's on the inside of a closet door, which isn't likely to be seen too often. However after more practice with the sprayer on more projects, we've realized that the smaller sprayer has a much more fine spray flow to it, with much more smooth results. The larger sprayer (which we used in this video) covers larger areas quicker, but it does have a little texture. It would be great for walls or other large surface areas. But to achieve a nice smooth finish, we'd recommend using the smaller sprayer. Hope that helps.
@@2thesunnyside I ordered it that day from Home Depot and it arrived today. I'm going to use it to paint 2 bathrooms, but I also have custom casework I'm building, and pallet slat accent walls I need to install and this will be great for painting the pallet slats.
@@2thesunnyside A good tip I have read is to practice first on a big piece of cardboard, and/or by spraying pure water until you get the hang of it so that you don't accidentally mess up a door or kitchen cabinet in your own home. I was curious if it was operator error or the sprayer being a bad model/brand, thanks for clarifying.
As a pro painter I can tell you that the only way this is a time saver is if these were brand new doors that were never installed because a pro can paint 14 doors in less time than it probably took you to remove all the hinges, door knobs and the doors themselves move them to the basement, paint them, reinstall all hardware and rehang them. Just sayin
@@2thesunnyside Please don’t misunderstand me the doors look great you did a wonderful job I’m just geared toward working quickly because time is money.

did you have any problems with clogging or sputtering? The reviews seem to say that after a couple of uses, it starts to clog.
Great question Timmy. It's best to wipe the nozzle periodically to prevent this from happening.
Can you please put a link for the paint you used , really love it. Thanks
You bet! I LOVE using Behr paint! It's really creamy and has great coverage. rstyle.me/+zKJuO3Hhe9WaIw99F5zhKQ
Behr Paint can be purchased at Home Depot. It's the only paint I buy.
Us too!
Did you have any issues with tackyness or sticking on the hinge side after you rehung the doors? also what finish of paint did you use? Thanks
Nope, no sticking on the hinge after hanging them back up. We used a Satin finish
No back brushing? I'll give it a try with my wagner
Sorry I don’t know how I missed your question. No back brushing. Hope you’ve been able to play with your sprayer.
Puedo pintar las paredes de la casa conbesta herramienta?
Yes, this is a great tool to paint the walls as well.
Hello how much paint did you use and how many doors was there?
Great question Scott. We painted 14 doors, with 2 coats each and we used a little more than 2 gallons
I'm curious how much paint it took to cover the 14 doors? Does the sprayer use much more paint than rolling?

When you did the first door, it looks pretty textured from it splattering paint... Am I wrong?

You could thin the paint with water or whatever is recommended to thin it to get a finer spray finish
@@2thesunnyside Then why were you commenting on how good it looked? It looked very bad & all your credibility was lost in seconds.

Yes! You can definitely do that…I was being lazy 😬😆
What color is that on doors...
It's called Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore. But we had it color matched at The Home Depot in the Behr paint.
Shut up and take my money. Buying one today.

Sounds like you’ve had plenty of projects to break in the new sprayer! How’d they turn out?
Hello! Lovely video, and helpful too! Just got yourself a subscriber, and would be lovely to have one back!
Thanks, we're glad this video was helpful. And thanks for the follow 😀
Step one: Buy a house with 2,000 sqf basement. 😂
yes the basement was handy...but you could use a garage as well 😂
10:21 you can see how streaky/uneven the finish is with the sprayer on the left side door :/
It was our first time using the sprayer, and we did get better as we went along.
