The growl is what confirmed the awesomeness of this song for me.
also, even though the main growl is switched out, you can still hear the faint growl on the 'feel like a monster' lyrics in the chorus after where the growl normally is.

This song is by a Christian band. And since I am a Christian, this is what the song means to me.
The view of Christianity has become so warped that the religion is now more about hate than love. We are supposed to openly love people, but since they don't want our "love", we hide it and keep it buried deep down. Because it is hard to stick to your convictions with someone screaming in your face that you are wrong.

They didnt take out the Growl. the Growl was a last minute change to the CD. this is the Single Release version.
I don't think the growl is on the radio because people would think its weird or maybe there's some stupid rule against that kind of thing. It's probably a small reason, but the growl doesn't really make much a difference, even though it is awesome.
It sounds odd without the growl. Idk if it's just me who thinks this or if other people have the same opinion.

Why does everyone think that any type of hardcore vocals are evil. He just growls its not demonic it just sounds cool its not everyones style but its not demonic. Demons probably don't even sound like that. If you have to compare it to something compare it to something that you actually know what it sounds like. It sounds like a bear or something like that don't say its demonic if you don't even know what a demon sounds like

Yeah I get that a lot. I'm really religious (I guess you could call it that, but I don't like that term) like I speak in front of large groups of Christians and teach bible studies and all that, and everyone criticizes me for my music because I listen to death metal. Just don't worry about it, GOD doesn't care what it sounds like as long as it glorifies him.

Why does everyone complain about this song isn't Christian-like. I'm a Christian so I know not everything you do, everything you like, everything you listen to, and everything you say has to be about God. They just aren't extremely religious. People will never consider Christian rock bands and regular rock bands. Skillet is no different than any other rock band out there.

Demons aren't in the song; I'm pretty sure the song is about human nature being intrinsically wicked and fallen. Demons don't have to do a thing for that to be true.

gotta agree, i like this version without the growl alot better. it just didnt sound good. and i listen to some hard core stuff, nota lot, but enough to know what sounds good. and the growl was too much.

In original in 2:15 you hear I feel like a monster with demonic voice here they edited it to sound normal.
