Elementalist spear feels like they hate staff so much they had to make a less interesting replacement. Compare staff to spear, and staff has 20 mostly unique skills(water and earth 2 are pretty similar, air 2 and fire 3 as well, but all the autos have different effects), spear is 5 autos, 10 ground target damage skills, 5 stand and spam here, 4 buff me and 1 movement skill. And spear's dual attacks really prove the designers just don't want to think about weaver. Also, the flow of spear doesn't fit into fresh air rotations at all.
indeed it's a less complicated weapon which makes more people try the class, it's fine and can always be replaced with other weapons, isn't variety convenient?
As a Necro main I've yet to find a compelling reason to replace GS with Spear in PvE (other than the to get the Wizard's Vault achievement). Maybe I just haven't found the right build or rhythm, but I'm 750 kills into the 1000 goal and I'm still feeling "meh" about Spear. It's not bad. I just haven't had a "Wow!" moment with it.
Yeah I’ve only been using spear to chip away at a few achievements but when I switch back to greatsword I can feel the damage difference and I just don’t see any reason to use spear over greatsword. That could always change but for right now spear just makes for something new to have fun wirh

on Thief: weaving in spear skill 4 after a Finisher grants a 10% dmg increase for 10 secs. so basically you can go 222-4 23 1 for a long combo chain with maximum dmg on the stealth attack because skill 4 counts as lead attack. It's fun and breaks the thief mold of spamming 1 skill over and over again. I love that.
Engineer spear is amazing, it brought out so many new build possibilities for me in open world, ranging from Condition Scrapper to Celestial Hybrid Mech, its just very effective by itself. The burst is incredible for a condi weapon, it can apply 25 stacks of vulnerability very fast and upkeep it the entire time, and it has good CC unlike pistols.
My first character ever was an engineer. It had become a mule for excess inventory, alt parking and birthday gifts. tried spear with the only specialist role I had acquired (mechanist) and it renewed my interest in the toon. I have been out farming hero points and now have Scrapper and half of Holosmith done. I have tried all the spears and I really did not care for any of the others. Even revenant, which has been my main, was no fun because it was so clear from the start that is was going to get nerfed from the start. I would much rather have seen ranger and necro get a condition or at least hybrid weapon useable on dps Druid and Scourge.
As much as I like Ele spear I don’t understand as what spec it should be played with. Tempest is a close combat spec due to overloads, Cata too, weaver yeah good luck with that one xd so… it is a ranged weapon without actual coverage from any of specs. Unless it is meant to be played as core ele?
Great video. Great energy. I really wanted to play spear with Mech. It is a lot of fun in most of open world. My only problem with it is that it yeets you inside the boss red circle instead of to the edge of it. If that red circle does huge damage, freezes you, etc., you don't have time to back out of it. Otherwise, it's simply annoying to have to back up every time you use spear 2. Don't know if you noticed this.
Hey laranity, im also a GW2 fanatic who enjoys your videos. They have helped me the past few weeks as i finally had time to grind all the things i wanted for my guardian. Just as you im also dutch and i really enjoy your content, you have gained a new subscriber😁
As a Necro Main, Greatsword is the highest pure DPS Power Weapon for Reaper, but Spear only losses about 3k DPS in exchange for the massive amount of lifesteal and healing it gains, as well as a gap closer (if you're willing to sacrifice your reset), a FAST interrupt stun, and Boon Ripping. I've been having a lot of fun with the Relic of Atrocity Spear Necro.
@@green_mark If you open with the gap closer, you can't use it to reset. If you use it to reset you can't use it as a gap closer. You can use it as a re-engage and reset if they peal away from you while your 2 is off cooldown, but you rarely get to use 4 for both a reset and gap closer except under niche situations.
Necro has one gap closer, lifesteal which needs Soul Shards. No reset. Mesmer has a very iffy lifesteal, two gap closers and a reset. 4 is a short range dash, with 5 being a long range teleport which also resets 2. It also is an instant CC break on some mobs (great in Aetherblade meta) You're confusing the two, while I plry both more than my thief and guardian. (do have a ranger, waiting on the rest of Rift Stalker skin set)
@@fireblade295 4 resets 2 when you reactivate it on Necromancer. The opening burst out of shroud for my rotation is 3>Aa>Aa>2>4>4>2, which gives me two max stack 2's in a short burst. 5 strips boons and is really good for PvE. I never played Spear Mesmer tbh, sounds pretty interesting. (Edit) 4 also resets after exiting Shroud. So if you go into Shroud and exit before the 14s cooldown, its off cool down for the big out of shroud burst again.
After catching up on your vods playing through JW I decided to give ele spear a shot, and it's super fun! The synergy between skills & how the 5 skill builds is fun & feels more intentional that just spamming high damage skills. You can tell the devs put a lot of thought into how the skills would work & change with each other. I also gave warrior (my least favorite class) spear a spin and liked it so much I did a lil fashion wars and made a new warrior! I never thought that rifle/bow felt super great, so I love having a nice ranged weapon now (imo).
I said it in your stream and ill say it again. Elementalist spears are so incredibly fun to pull off. I play weaver and its so fun having so many options. My new favorite playstyle is weaver spear
I dropped nearly 30g on the ascended Wizards Vault spear (by not trading the 1000 tokens for gold) and barely used it for 3 days on my Ranger before I went back to my regular LB/hammer build. It doesn't have the single target destruction and crowd tagging that the LB has or the fun berserker-style gameplay of the hammer
I only tried elem and necro spear for now (took Janthir recently after a long gw2 break), and had a lot of fun with it. I must admit, ele spear at first didn't convinced me (I main ele, it's probably why I'm so picky with any changes concerning it :D) but I adapted an open world build I had and finally was able to enjoy it. I also heard it can be great as a support dps (I can see how). I also tried the necro spear, by just equiping a drainlife-necro build I made longtime ago and happily adapted for SOTO's dual swords. And I didn't have to change anything on that build to make the spear work. It's so low effort to output damage, and the drainlife capabilities of the spear fit perfectly within my build. I still like the dual sword because of its very nice range, but the spear is really more brutal on its damage output.
Coming from a ranger to mesmer to a fresh elementalist, I liked the spear on mesmer and elementalist the most. Mesmer had great dmg and effects, while ele just simplified the rotations for me, while having some really cool effects. Currently using it on the ele tempest and making it my new main for this expac :).
i still don't have the expansion because i just recently came back to the game and am catching up, but i'm looking forward to creating a shout warrior with spear which would basically make it a paragon from gw1
Volcano doesn't damage shirts and busses? Are there a lot of bus enemies in the game? And shirts? This brings new meaning to fashion wars! Thanks for the overview of spears.
I appreciate this as I've forgotten what some of the gimmicks were (didn't have a lot of time to try out the beta) and the ranger one I'd agree. It's serviceable but not fantastic. The mesmer one looked so pretty in overworld that I slapped one on my guy, just rough cause I still really like dagger too, but skill 2 on the spear is so pretty D: Also will probably try the ele one out as I'm still looking for a weapon I gel well with on it. I want to like the class, but having 20 skills does make it rough at times to remember what they all do so I'm glad there seems to be some rhyme/reason to the spear one. Shame that we don't seem to be as gung ho as Fading Aurora XD
For the revenant spear u can go for mace/axe on celestial open world renegade it's really good, the rotation is 525345 spear then swap and 23452 mace/axe and repeat, it's really good
Hi gang! Quick question. I have been playing the base game (Free) and really dig it. I plan on waiting for a sale for the early expansion bundles (they go on sale often enough with massive savings). In the meantime, what new DLC does anyone recommend I grab? Want to take advantage of the benefits of owning one. Should I start with Secrets of the Obscure?
Warriors being paragons of taking a big stick and hitting people with it very hard, having fun doing it, really clearly took well to the _long_ stick. I finally got the expansion, and have been running around in open-world with warrior spear for a bit, and I might just never go back to rifle. It's a perfect unga-bunga ranged weapon, it does _so much damage_ compared to the amount of effort. Yet, it doesn't feel too insanely OP, it does uhm... "Blow its load early" a lot. But that sort of very front-loaded damage always feels amazing in open-world.
As a guardian main, my one issue was that lots of classes got something they didnt have to fill a hole, like warrior with power ranged damage, or mesmer in melee, necro got some neat gap closer, many got some love, but the one and only thing guardian doesnt have, they didnt give it, and that is boon removal, as it is now, spear offers nothing other builds didnt already have
Personally, I really like the new landspear because imo it is a very versatile and effective weapon and very entertaining with nice animations for all classes and elite specs. OK, I'm having a bit of trouble with the spear for the ranger because I can't do its "stealth" mode as well as I should. Up until now, Herald and Renegade were my main classes for a long time and I still really enjoy playing them with the new spear either. The revenant landspear skill 3 ("Abyssal Blitz" + "Blitz Mines") is awesome and very effective imo. With the revenant just use TWO spears to get the damage benefit for skill 5 by weapon swap when having three skill 5 stacks so you`re constantly fighting with a spear, you don`t need a different weapon set for this effect or benefit. The description for skill 5 only says that you trigger this effect when you swap weapons the moment you`ve reached three stacks; it doesn't say that you need a different weapon set for this and when I`m using two spears with my revenant it works as it should, problem solved and not existing. But now the engineer as a mechanist with my two different builds has become my absolute favorite, along with the mech buddy at his side and the spear and short bow as weapons. These two weapons are absolutely equally useful and exciting for me and the short bow is not just a stopgap solution if close combat is too risky or impossible for special reason. My two builds are "Celestial" plus "Tempest" runes for open world adventures and "Viper" plus "Lich" runes when necessary, for example for certain group content when I dont`t want a higher toughness value.
As ele main i am very glad that spear special the air style the lightings are incredbiles good desing at least visualy. But as ele main i also want to see if we can get trident, or shield or axe or a new talent tree like a better elemantels summons.
In my berzerker build, spear make my build pass from 2 powerful cc skill to 4 powerfull cc skill, and I have the possibility to change from axe close combat to spear range combat. I replaced completely the greatsword by the spear
To me the Ele feels super weak and it is what most people said TBH, the range is super good but once they are close you are not really having a lot of advantage on anything. Plus other Ele weapons at least cleave in Mele or bounce, or have AoE... while the Spear nope... and I mean Auto Attacks obviously, the only one with Splash is Fire IIRC, the others are Single Target, and only the 2 usually pierces... once you used mainly 2 and 4 (whit those huge cooldowns) you are done, the 5 is your big hit and after that again with Auto Attacks or Rotation ASAP so your DPS doesn't become subpar. Others in the other hand like Engi are ridiculously good lol, at the point they will nerf them I assume... but for now everyone feels at least fun
Thank you for saving me the time to decide which class I'd be using the spear with. I've only tried it on my Reaper but still prefer the fun dual-wielding swords so it's gonna be Mesmer/Elementalist for me.
Just tried "try hard" rotation on necro spear since I was pretty casually enjoying JW since its released and I agree that the window between flipped 4 and 2 is really tight and even tighter if you are playing without quickness or/and alac. I hope they buff the duration on necro spear 4 second skill a bit.
Can't wait till I get the expansion so my Dragonhunter that I named after my main username can finally be played for once because Spear looks cool as hell, and it might look cooler on my Guardian
A bit of a hot take, about the bar switching but as a former ESO player who has also played Guild wars two for a long time I think that just because you have the ability to use two weapons doesn’t mean that you should be required to use both like in eso you have oaken soul to enable one bar builds to be viable
@@Traven89 there are lots of builds that don't use weapon swapping. Some classes, like engi and ele, can't even switch weapons during combat. I almost never swap weapons on my herald, unless I'm in a situation where I need ranged damage or CC. I just camp Sword/Sword or Greatsword.
Not only does it not hit some bosses, the initial explosion of the volcano appearing doesn't do any dmg, in my opinion it really should, it absolutely looks like it would do dmg.. instead only those little balls? Pls fix..
Elementalist spear looks pretty cool but it still needs work. Much like how rev spear felt a little slow in the beta, ele spear skills could use a small reduction in cast time especially weapon skill 4's. The accuracy requirement + the 3/4 cast time of weapon skill 4's make it easy to miss in anything not instanced pve. I really would like to see those cast times come down to 1/2 second. I would also like to see etching- volcano start hitting a little sooner after finishing the cast. Currently there is a small delay to it's easy to walk out of the aoe before the damage starts in wvw/pvp. And then the biggest thing, please give weaver actual dual skills. Weaver spear skills cannot proc Superior Elements and without damaging dual skills, weaver will always fall behind tempest and catalyst. Fun fact, weaver actually has the lowest damage modifiers of all the ele elite specs so without high damaging dual skills, it will always fall behind. This the biggest sin of ele spear, weaver dual skills were an after thought.
10:53 I would disagree about Mechanist rotation not being that different between spear and pistols Pistol Pistol rotation is 27237 while spamming 3490 and mostly ranged. Spear rotation is 3272547 while spamming 590 and mostly melee, ground targeting and forced movement abilities. Spear has more ground targeting abilities which you have to aim with mouse which makes it more annoying and a lot of forced movement compared to pistols. Pistols is just afk dps with occousinal melee range bomb kit. For examples I use pistols in Twin Largos as that is easier and has better dps uptime when boss moves a lot. I only use Spear in Right side of Twin Largos when I'm not asked to Kite. Also XJJ is another example where I prefer Pistols over Spear as there are a lot of mechanics that makes Melee harder and if you have bad RNG all you will be doing on spear is Grenade Kit 542111111... While pistols are pretty much doing normal rotation of pres 234 with additional bomb kit when in melee range
I just played spear willbender in wvw and after only an hour of dieing it clicked, now its my new fav over my cele scepter ele now gotta try DH, cele will be nerfed so this is good
the ranger spear with unleash heals quite alot and deals massive damage in area so guess that makes up for what it lacks in pve at least that was my feeling personally i dont like much of the ranger power weapons but the spear actually give me reason to play it fully
My only issue with the thief spear, is that its animations take way too long for the damage they put out. Like there's a near 2 second wind up on some of the attacks, when most of the thief weapons are able to put out their attacks much faster and without quickness. For example the auto attacks. The auto attack has dagger's damage. But the sluggishness of the Sword auto.
@@merklyz I feel like this is something ANet did with a lot of the new spears. Rev especially. They introduced these weapons that are supposedly condi/power combined, but they're really only viable in condi builds because the power has to be scaled low for the balance between condi/power. I understand why it's this way, and I think they still work fine for like an open world power build, but it does limit options on weapons that are marketed as having a choice of build options.
You just gotta play the new expansion's story a little bit! You can jump ahead if you want, but if you care about story it's probably better to play the other expansions first
Easy to get. I would suggest after getting in on your main character to start a new character on the slot you get from the expansion. Try a class that interests you equipping a level one spear from the start. You can do as often as you need to help decide which class works best for you. After I had a feel whether I liked it, I just deleted, rinsed and repeated. Make sure to do the first part of the character story to get a freebee Black Lion key. I did that for guardian, ranger, necro, warrior and engineer in that order. Be warned that the spear--even if you like it--does not work really well on some of the advanced specializations. I only use it now on renegade and mechanist.
Great video! The spear spell breaker is broken right now in pvp, needs to be nerfed. In the latest 3v3 tournament both teams that made it to the finals each had 2 spear spell breakers!
Is it possible for some kind of mod that speeds up the kodan talking animations? I seem to spend most of my time waiting for them to finish their sentences...
ngl the revenant spear got the nerf it deserved but it such a fun weapon as someone who plays pretty casual but still raids(cm) and fractals cms it was the first time after the nerf i went and tried different combination with the spear to see what could do better, i love it alot and hopefully it doesnt get nerfed again
Engi spear is easy... which makes it very nice when you don't want to do all the Engineer things. And it seems to work very well for Power Scrappers. Ele spear is very good, but way too flashy. Giant etchings make it hard to see enemy AOE fields & generally distract you from what is going on. I wonder if I'm contributing to other players' deaths due to my etchings. And Mesmer spear is definitely good. Still trying to find the setup that I like best for a power Chrono, but it just works. I really like Thief spear as well. The ability to flip between Power (button 3) and Condi (button 2) on one weapon is nice.
As an Engi main that's actually something that annoys me. Since EoD, every new addition to the engi class has apparently been targeted toward players that don't want to play Engi. Mechanist was created to enable kitless gameplay, which is a good idea, but it removes the toolbelt skills, essentially making the kits almost the only core skills worth taking. The shortbow was also very poorly designed, with 4 ranged ground targeted skills that you must put at your feet to get any benefit. As Laranity says, the spear feels very boring compared to most other professions' spears, and the main gimmick is currently unreliable due to a bug. The "lighting weapon" theme is also a repeat of the scrapper hammer, which was better executed in every aspect. It just feels like Anet is just completely out of ideas on what to do with Engi.
I wanted to play an Ele with the spear, but my god...my wrist would turn into Bart's concrete mixer the first hour... No, I don't use default class hotkeys...I use shift+#... Edit: I use spear on a cdps necro lmao
For Engineer, 5 should be an instant teleport/warp type move, animation is way too long. 4..... 4 looks amazing, but needs a bigger area of effect, and again instant to 1/4 second animation or at least give evade for 1 second during the cast. 3 is nice, just needs a bigger aoe, and make it a flip skill, so you can throw the spear whenever you want. 2 is great, just the leap finisher needs to just count in general. Right now it doesnt count as a leap finisher UNLESS you have/connect with your target.... Lastly, the auto attack chain is again, too slow. Lastly, a hope for Engi in general. Now that we have shortbow/spear/pistol mh & oh/mace/shield/sword/hammer/rifle, we deserve weapon swap in combat. Just make it so if you have a kit in any heal/elite/3 utility slot you lose in-combat weapon swap. Anet wants Engis to use more stuff outside of kits, the buff to gadgets didn't change much. Give me weapon swap in combat, rifle hammer scrapper hell yah, spear/pistol&shield mech or holo, hell yeah.
Before spear, two of the biggest complaints from eles were overly complicated mechanics and a lack of a viable ranged weapon. With spears, two of the biggest complaints from eles are overly simplistic mechanics and lack of melee range -_- As an Ele main since GW1, all I want to do is SURVIVE, and look cool while doing it.
With spears being a huge success, I feel its time they released a new legendary spear. I know we have Kamohoali'i Kotaki but frankly I really dont care for it. I would have loved if they released an Aurene spear, but that seems to be a missed opportunity now.
Ranger spear and thief for that matter were done dirty… every mob enemy and their mother spam "reveal" killing my stealth before I can do the stealth enhanced move. :/
I use a "Power Spellbonker" build in open world, centered on buffing CC skills and bursts (AKA "bonks"). Spear fit in very nicely since, like Hammer, it has two CCs and its burst is also a CC. Also Mesmer Spear is. So. Satisfying. The spear combo flows very nicely and naturally, and generates so many clones to boot.
AS an ele main i share the sentiment ideawise, but the execution is bad. The visual clutter is intense (especially for spell 5 for doing nothing actually but being a "stand here" boundary, the second skill is the important part right?), the tuning is just wack (just compare loads of the 2 and 4 skills on damage/uitlity and cooldown times) and many of the skills in actually feel more clunky than flowing together (especially with the 5 skill at times). Also: compared to other weapons it feels very weak. I forced myself to play spear first week, then switched to my old set and recently tried other spears (e.g. necro) and was blown away by the amount of their damage. PS: Tbf a lot of this can just be tweaked by adjusting numbers (for the love of god anet, please look at some of the clunky feeling cast times) And yea buffbar hate!!! We needed the rework 2020 anet xD
I don't like spears because of these big circle animations, it's just another visual clutter, it makes the game look so cheap compared to other games. I always say they should revamp old weapons like the Worrier greatsword, but every time I see them adding new weapons with such visual clutter animations, I'm afraid they'll ruin the old things.
I only tried it with necromancer/reaper and the attacks felt very weak except skill 5 I do like the large ring around your character it makes that damages everything and gives u a crap ton of might for each enemy it hits. Also attack 4 on necro let’s u one target at range then do attack 4 to teleport to that target. Pretty cool but damage isn’t impressive with spear and there is just no reason to use it over my greatsword. However any new weapon and skills we get I am happy with and it adds more to the game. Also the plushies for our home is one of the best things they have added and I’m definitely going to have fun with it. I’m really enjoying homestead and I hope the content goes far and beyond so we can make a beautiful little homestead

on Thief: weaving in spear skill 4 after a Finisher grants a 10% dmg increase for 10 secs. so basically you can go 222-4 23 1 for a long combo chain with maximum dmg on the stealth attack because skill 4 counts as lead attack. It's fun and breaks the thief mold of spamming 1 skill over and over again. I love that.
i agree with the mesmer spear. it's also my favorite of what we got
I've been having so much fun with Necro spear/Relic of Atrocity that I haven't tried any others. Thanks for the review!
Nice video! I've tried most of the spears, but this was great for an overview of the one's I haven't tried :)
Aren't you actually reseting skill 2 WITH the gap closing? What sacrifice do you mean?
@@green_mark If you open with the gap closer, you can't use it to reset. If you use it to reset you can't use it as a gap closer. You can use it as a re-engage and reset if they peal away from you while your 2 is off cooldown, but you rarely get to use 4 for both a reset and gap closer except under niche situations.
Necro has one gap closer, lifesteal which needs Soul Shards. No reset.
Mesmer has a very iffy lifesteal, two gap closers and a reset. 4 is a short range dash, with 5 being a long range teleport which also resets 2. It also is an instant CC break on some mobs (great in Aetherblade meta)
You're confusing the two, while I plry both more than my thief and guardian.
As a mesmer/ele main, I've been eating really well with this expansion, and the balance preview today made me even more excited.
Thank you for the video. My Mesmer is a virtuoso build. Does the spear help with generating blades? Or is the spear meant for a different build?
Heal Alac Willbender with Spear is now meta! I love it
Spear Dragonhunter is pretty fun. I use it along side greatsword and have been having a good time with it.
Very helpful, despite playing the beta test I totally forgot alot of stuff.
Warrior spear is actually a ranged hammer replacer for spellbreaker, the cripple and daze are incredible.
For the revenant spear u can go for mace/axe on celestial open world renegade it's really good, the rotation is 525345 spear then swap and 23452 mace/axe and repeat, it's really good
Engineer spear has my favorite animations which was the main deciding factor for me 😅 ele was second and I'm going to use that next
I am curious about what's next too. Maybe a new race?
But that sort of very front-loaded damage always feels amazing in open-world.
what weapons are left to make? polearms and unarmed? Or do you think new variations of the old ones?
I Started with thief spear, tried mesmer now playing warrior I can relate to getting distracted
Ele spear is so much fun, I've been playing solely spear since I got mine.
The Mesmer spear is so good. It is so fun to play.
Nice! A new vids on spears! :o
As ele main i am very glad that spear special the air style the lightings are incredbiles good desing at least visualy. But as ele main i also want to see if we can get trident, or shield or axe or a new talent tree like a better elemantels summons.
What about the other 27 spears in the game?
guard spear is also incredibly strong in pvp. spear willbenders are a menace lol
Makes me curious if they’ll try land tridents and harpoon guns in the future
In my berzerker build, spear make my build pass from 2 powerful cc skill to 4 powerfull cc skill, and I have the possibility to change from axe close combat to spear range combat. I replaced completely the greatsword by the spear
Ranger spear could benefit from the 5 skill buffing your pet or Soulbeast merge.
It's super satisfying when you get it right, but it feels veeery bad when you don't hahaha
Can't wait till I get the expansion so my Dragonhunter that I named after my main username can finally be played for once
because Spear looks cool as hell, and it might look cooler on my Guardian
Ranger Spear deals a lot dmg with power Soulbeast. Perfect for Soloing dungeons because of the new stealth skills
10:53 I would disagree about Mechanist rotation not being that different between spear and pistols
Pistol Pistol rotation is 27237 while spamming 3490 and mostly ranged.
Alright, I'm late (real life, eh?) but enjoying Necro Spear on Power Reaper with GS. Oh, Shroud resets Perforate? Heh heh, FEEDING TIME!!
You are the Hero we need and deserve. Ty for the Spear test!
I wish each class held them differently for class identity.
I wish the power scaling for Engi spear would be a bit higher. I like it on Scrapper, but hammer is still better choice for pure DPS or QDPS.
Love your videos
How easy is it to get these spears for a completely new player? Looks cool!
You just gotta play the new expansion's story a little bit! You can jump ahead if you want, but if you care about story it's probably better to play the other expansions first
@@Laranity thanks!
"You can edge your spear"
Uh hu, tell me more 😂
I brought the Guardian spear into WvW cosplaying as Shovel Knight and pummeled squads.
Ranger spear is jsut so bad. Im lealous of everyone else.
I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. At least in the new Push (pvp) mode. But I can see where u are coming from with it.
i don't know for the other class but for ranger sure you don't have a good build to feel his power. Very good zerk build with two mace switch.
Unluckiest timing bc of the patch xD
As a warrior main i hope they add 2 handed axe one day.
I wanted to play an Ele with the spear, but my god...my wrist would turn into Bart's concrete mixer the first hour...
No, I don't use default class hotkeys...I use shift+#...
Edit: I use spear on a cdps necro lmao
Anyone knows if they fixed the Ele Spear bug where you cannot hit some bosses? :(
The winners for me were Rev, War, Necro, Thief.
Been having a lot of fun with spear in pvp on guardian.
With spears, two of the biggest complaints from eles are overly simplistic mechanics and lack of melee range -_-
As an Ele main since GW1, all I want to do is SURVIVE, and look cool while doing it.
With my spear, I draw a circle of attention around this video
With spears being a huge success, I feel its time they released a new legendary spear.
I know we have Kamohoali'i Kotaki but frankly I really dont care for it.
I would have loved if they released an Aurene spear, but that seems to be a missed opportunity now.
Good news: a new legendary spear is coming soon with one of the Janthir content patches :>
yeah im currently not fond of ranger spear.. got bored of it within an hour lol.
Ranger spear and thief for that matter were done dirty… every mob enemy and their mother spam "reveal" killing my stealth before I can do the stealth enhanced move. :/
No ARENANET it’s time for a UI overhaul, say like WOW’s moveable UI, cough cough
I use a "Power Spellbonker" build in open world, centered on buffing CC skills and bursts (AKA "bonks"). Spear fit in very nicely since, like Hammer, it has two CCs and its burst is also a CC.
Also Mesmer Spear is. So. Satisfying. The spear combo flows very nicely and naturally, and generates so many clones to boot.
underwater weapon review when?
PS: Tbf a lot of this can just be tweaked by adjusting numbers (for the love of god anet, please look at some of the clunky feeling cast times)
And yea buffbar hate!!! We needed the rework 2020 anet xD
Theyre all gimmick weapons, now they should have given some class trident, like Ele and mesmer hell even guardian.
Next weapon at least for engis torch pls I wanna be able to wield the welder skin.
I have no idea, or understand of that Mini game thing . . .
Engi Spear is unusable in certain fractals atm because spear 2 wont hit and the most of the dps comes from it
Ooo, I havent really tried it in fractals yet
@@Laranity Hella annoying, no wonder some of the mechanist I played with was doing 5k dps
i paly mesmer with chrono and its is stronger than virtuoso
LoD reference? 🤔🤔🤔
I’m really enjoying homestead and I hope the content goes far and beyond so we can make a beautiful little homestead
the homestead plushies are so good!!
