It felt like the end of the series because they filmed it that way. During filming they didn't know if they would get picked up for a 2nd season, so they wanted to get as much out of season 1 as they could. Now they get 2 more seasons so they can pace it better
I hope you guys can continue to hold out until Season 2 & 3 are completed before going back and watching the original Nickelodeon animated series. Really enjoyed your reactions to this and several other movies and other things. Would be nice if you did reactions and short videos of Hawai'i stuff and being out and about. Help people know more about what's happening in the 808 🙂

The original is great overall, but if we're comparing season 1 live action to book 1 water animated series...it's not a billion times better.....not even close. The live action fixes a ton of problems I personally had with book 1 water from the animated series. For me, I actually preferred the LA > OG book 1. I felt waaaaay more for all the main characters like never before and cared about the main plot more than ever because everything felt more real with added nuance/depth.
@@Jeremyx7 thats the thing, thjey didnt 'fix' anything so much as they they just cut it out. the most major of plot points that helped you build emotions toward the gang, were completely sacrificed to save time. the OG fans it wont matter to as much cos we already know every detail and the new viewers will never have that same connection or understanding why they made the choices they did. take Omashu for example, Azula had zero part in that but now these guys have to believe that she did. and we all know bumi would have smoked her lol. so no it is not better as YOU would put it. but more so in the way i originally stated lol but The books however I cannot speak for because they only one i read had to do with zuko's mother

Yes, there were actual flaws in the original, so it’s not the masterpiece that many fans think it is (imo). The live action did some things that were actually better than the original, although not being perfect itself.

Yeah, they had more moments together, but most of those moments were usually them goofing off or overreacting to things around them or about each other. Very 1 dimensional characterizations throughout most of book 1. Almost all the main characters have little change over the course of book 1 other than mainly just their unique skill sets growing. Everybody in the Live Action actually has their own personal arcs and grow as individuals substantially. Every interaction they have in the LA has actual purpose and meaning behind it. Another flaw the OG had was that there were too many fillers with a lot of fluff and little substance with many ridiculous unrealistic solutions to serious problems/situations. It was a lot of nonsense and extra noise for the kiddos it was designed for. All the important story/character/lore parts of those fillers were brilliantly spread out and reorganized in a very meaningful way that made sense for the Live Action. Made the storytelling that much more emotionally impactful and dynamic. Also, the overall tone of the OG is too light for what the main story is trying to convey, so it makes most of the situations feel watered down and less compelling. The OG held itself back because of the limitations of the network it was on at the time as well as the target audience it was designed for. I'm not saying the OG was bad, but simply stating that it could've been a TON better and it's objectively not the masterpiece allot of the fandom imagines it be in their childhood memories. I am very impressed and satisfied with what the Live Action was able to accomplish. They took great source material that was limited due to circumstances and elevated it by focusing more on the story/characters/important themes/realities of war. OG had so many problems that definitely needed fixing. Mainly book 1: water.
