It isn't familiar but I imagine I might have seen you somewhere. And yeah, I'm loving the show. I was skeptical at first since I didn't see where they could really go with the film, it's a film I adore but it didn't exactly had a lot of hidden depths I could imagine being expanded upon in a TV remake. Though I obviously found out it's less of a remake and more of a case where it uses the original fims core idea as a spring board for something new. And I was pretty much hooked from the intro onwards. As a mechanical engineer, I like seeing complex engineering in action. :P
Kaye Faye I was 'BigMommaWolf' on DC, but due to recent events I had to leave. So far I'm enjoying the show, regardless of it being a remake. I feel like it's different enough from the original film that it's more of a 'revivification' than a 'remake,' just like you said 'using the film's core idea as a spring board for something new.' I'm getting more involved in the long narrative stories so shows like Mr.Robot, Longmire, and of course WestWorld really keep me enthralled. I like how in long narrative stories you can watch the characters grow and evolve and even contradict themselves where as, in movies, you don't get that opportunity in two hours! Hehe.
Aww you left? :( Darn. I actually have a hard time getting into the longer narrative TV shows, there are always exceptions but I've never been huge on the TV format and I tend to be pressed for time between my wife and daughters and all that. I've always preferred books and cinema. But there are exceptions and this is the first big one to come along in some time for me, though there have been some shows I've considered looking into trying, I guess if the cancer has done anything it's made a little more room for such things. :/ But les not dwell on that.
