I’m a big fan of this, their softer more groovy songs are becoming a huge part of their sound. This is probably my favourite softer/more rock song since Chemical Also, the work of the synths in this song is phenomenal. Massive fan of synth in metal music when it’s done properly, and this is amazing. Subtle but it highlights the instrumentals and adds to the groove

Soooooo good. The first two singles brought all the metalcore elements i could possibly want, so i’m thrilled that they chose to take it in a more rock/pop type of vibe. Plenty of energy, tons of melody, almost more danceable/jump-along-able than head banging and moshing. Loved their experimentation on Act and Evergreen, and then loved how they pared that down to slightly more typical, but equally wonderful, tracks on ZII. Honestly they’ve proven they can do it all phenomenally, im ready for WHATEVER this album ends up being. 3/3 amazing singles so far. If The Act suffered from anything, I think that it’s experimental and general weird nature meant that a lot of people didn’t get into it. The people who did (you, me) absolutely loved it, and it was my fav album that year. But this album is shaping up to be a little more in line with what would get new people engaged and listening, and with enough excellent TDWP songwriting and musicianship to keep current fans engaged. I really do hope all the non-singles are less straightforward. The Act is still such a fascinating and interesting listen all the way through, from composition, arrangement, production, vocals, lyrics.

Same for me I couldnt really find my way to them, eventhough I knew them for years. but ZII was my gateway and I now am just in love with their sound. Those singles are just 10/10. They are definitely one of the bands that keep metalcore alive and intersting right now.

I’m think they deserve to change the tune and maybe keep a little bit of what old fans love. The mainstream focus will give them the much deserved exposure they’ve lacked. I enjoyed this a lot. An underrated album by them is 8:18, the songs “first sight” and “martyrs” are some of my fav TDWP songs of all time.
