Thank you for the tip about waiting to remove the old pump site when changing to new one.

Thanks for this. I just switched from a Medtronic 670G to the t:slim X2, and was seriously heartbroken to see the AutoSoff XC, which is essentially the same as the horrible MiniMed Mio, which always cut me or ended up with a bent cannula. It sounds like the AutoSoft 90 might insert better than the XC, so maybe there’s hope for me. If only I could use a MinMed Mio Advance infusion set with the Tandem pump! 😊 Togetther with Dexcom G6 it would be magical! 🎉 At least there’s hope with what you had to say about the AutoSoft 90. Thanks!

I figured out that the connector for the MiniMed Mio Advance is essentially identical to the original MiniMed Mio, which is identical to the AutoSoft XC, so I can use the inserted from the MiniMed Mio Advance, and then plug in the tubing from the AutoSoft XC, which connects to the t:slim X2 cartridge…it sounds like a lot of complicated work, but it’s really pretty simple. Noe the question is if I’ll run out of MiniMed Mio Advance inserters before Tandem comes out with a new inserter and it maybe gets expensive.

@@DrJoshuaPerryHi there! I am in the exact same situation as you. I switched to tandem pump and xc sites just in the past two weeks. Each time I have put in the xc it hurts so bad and I get an occlusion alarm. It’s like ptsd from the mio. I love LOVE my mio advance and currently wearing it bc I also made the same discovery as you. Do you have an update about what has worked for you? The tandem rep sent me some samples of the 90 so hopefully it works 🤞🏼 I truly pray tandem comes out with a mio advance type of set. Although one of the tandem reps never had even heard of the mio advance. I wonder if it’s patented. Either way, would love to hear from you. Thanks!

@@KayKay01012001 Yes, I did discover that Medtronic has a patent on the Mio Advanve, and talked with a couple engineers at Tandem that swear they’re working on a better inserter that is similar to the Mio Advance but doesn’t violate any patents, but it’s basically vaporware to us until they release it, right? I got samples of everything they have right now, and nothing was even good from my point of view. I was able to get my insurance to agree to keep paying for the Mio Advance for now, and I’ll likely consider going back to Medtronic if they can show me their new sensor is as good as the G6, but I’m likely stuck with the Tandem for a while unless I can convince my insurance that’s it worth an upgrade to the new Medtronic before the warranty on the Tandem is up. I’m definitely going to request to try the new Medtronic sensors before trying to switch the pump.

I go.t my Tandem X2 last September and was sent the Autosoft XC infusion sets from CCS Medical with my pump and am still getting them. But I was having pump problems with my Tandem the other day and was troubleshooting with them on the phone. I had to reinsert 3 sets over a 24 hr period and we still did not know what the problem was. They sent me replacements for the ones I used and I got the Autosoft 90 and not the XC. so I think Tandem may be preferring the 90. So I ended up finding your video to see what the difference was. I'll save them for when I am out of XCs. Great video, thanks.

Good job explaining Maddie ! I was a Mini Med pump user for 25 years , and recently switched to the Tandem because I wanted to utilize the Dexcom 6 system along with it. I often wondered what the difference was, and you explained it perfectly. Joe. 😊

Thank you for explaining this. I was so confused when my infusion set randomly changed one day. Thought they redesigned it, but it turns out I was switched from the XC to the 90. Also, we have matching pump cases (twins!).

My A1C came down from 9.8 to 7.9 in just 1 month. After getting my booster shot for covid-19 it did run high for a few days
I enjoy that I can put my sites somewhere beside my arms. When I put the Omnipod on my back it would cause it to have be changed cause it would be a bleed . I my belly cause I sleep ony belly it would have to be changed cause of all my weight cause it to stop working. I love the Omnipod cause it was tubeless. I don't hate the Omnipod I think it is great for kids but I am not able to wear it anymore but my arms and when you have to change it every day you run out of places you can put on your arms .

Don’t know if this is true or not but when I was switched from the XC to the 90, I heard on social media that it was due to supply issues and it will continue to the end of the year. I’m hoping CCS medical supply will automatically switch me back in early 2022 because I prefer the XC for the same reason you do. The 90 has a bulkier connection point and is harder to disconnect. I’ve had no major issues with either one though.

Yeah, ExpressRX changed me to the 90 and when I called, they said it was a supply issue for the XC.. but that now the 90 is having supply issues, and they will be sending me the XC for my next refill in July.. I cannot stand trying to disconnect the 90 for a shower.. First time I tried to disconnect it, I actually used a screw driver to force it a part.

I have been using the tandom for 8 months, always used the autosoft 90, which Was quite different for me because on the MiniMed pump I used a different type of infusion set. Randomly CCS medical sent me the XC this time around, and I'm so glad I found the video to explain the difference before I called them and said Hey what's going on with my shipment. These look like my MiniMed infusion sets.
