I wanted the NTS one for the longest, but when this came out, it seemed like a good pairing for my microgranny and every other synths/groovebox I have, the only thing I have by Bastl is the Bestie so far and it’s been great built solid 🎉
Cooler than I initially thought - the freezer mode sounds great but still seems like you would hit all possible combinations and eventually be left wanting new effects. So is it updatable at all? This is sort of why I like the NuTekt NTS1- MK2 just slightly more for the same price. With the NTS1 MK2, You get synths,, you have pre-loaded effects in delay, reverb, effects, eventually there will be more new effects via updates and patches, plus you also some pretty good synths & waveforms to play with, some basic sequencing and a pretty robust arp.
I recommend a close wide angle lens when shooting microscopic hardware. It may not be as visually appealing, but it will capture the visual information you are attempting to transmit to your viewers. Also, turn your hands invisible, if possible.
Hi! I noticed it too later on, sorry for that. Seems to have been an interference caused by my usb hub when I plugged in another device during shooting (the Kastl and my H6 recorder where both plugged in there and that seems to have been the problem). Thanks for watching!
It’s so fucking worth it. Currently using it with nanoloop on analogue pocket and dirtywave m8. Some of the korg ds things and can’t wait to grab a guitar or bass and try it out but it is its own instrument it really is. That being said this thing seems like it’s up there with it
I think this type of potentiometers do not have enough ergonomics to travel what can be controlled. Musicality shouldn't be restricted with portability.
@cubalibre023ify not really both are multi fx that you interact with to change on the fly with ease. One uses wires to patch the other an X and y pad. With the bastl kastl you have a limited number of patches you can actually make. Mathematical fact. The nts 3 the limit for the FX chain and how it works is limited by processing power, ram and your ability to code.
@@2wdr5I have both, and both have cool things going for them. If you want a very deep mutieffects unit that has a tiny xy pad for control, requires lots of menu diving, and has extensive use if you’re into programming, then NTS-3 all the way... If you want a very experimental effects unit with a distinct sound character, that has physical controls and encourages a process of patching that can take you into places you wouldn’t imagine or even consider, then Wizard all the way... Apples and oranges. I’m having a lot more fun with oranges personally and will probably let go of my apples.
@@machmar Comes down to how it actually operates it being physicaly patched with wires would imply analogue but my gut is telling me digital looking at the size of it. If it's analogue it being open source wouldn't achieve anything. But if it's digital then it would allow for a lot more. But even then I'd choose the nts 3 over due to the way you interact. It's far more fluid for performance. I have some modular stuff and while you can't patch on the fly in the same way you can interact with an xy screen

Best review so far ! Thanks mate Cheers
I always love your coverage of our gear! Thank you!
Thanks so much for including me in this launch! I always have a blast with your inventions 🔥
I am officially insane now 🫡 great video 💕
😂😂 welcome to the looney bin with all the rest of us! Thanks for watching!

Love the Bestie! Thanks so much for watching!
Looks fun as heck!
It totally is!! Jajaja
I've been looking for something to spice up my live set without taking up much real estate while also keeping things fun- this could work. Thanks!
Thanks so much for watching!

Hard to get close w a wide angle like 25mm. You want more 50mm or higher to get in there like most ‘Macro’ lenses.
What I want to see is you can use it with an AE module system and or a korg volca modular.
i noticed a high pitched noise coming through in the audio.... do you know if that was from the Kastle, or..? 🤔

Also a really important question. What will you play this holiday season?!
Playing Silent Night through Octatrack and Kastl 2 might be fun😂
Very fun! Great demo.
Hopefully soon available.
If I wasn’t saving for a chroma console, I’d buy this
@@johndonovan2743 Chroma Console is definitely on my list!🔥
Chroma console is just a microcontroller called daisy seed in a shiny box. Look up daisy seed

If I wasn’t broke, I’d also own one

You really don't have to worry about that, we use dynamic range maps to make sure it is playable even when the knobs are this small.
I have bastl bestie +2 korg volca modulars. I can imagine one unit of these could company them well.
@@Benutzer101 I can surely see it there🤘🏻
Lol you know about korg volca. You not seen the korg NTS 3? alot more powerful than this thing
@@2wdr5 can you patch it tho...
Id suggest to anyone get a korg nts 3 over this any day. Bonus if you can code the nts 3 is really something else
Completely different thing, not modulateable

Uff! Not bad, at all, but damn… sorry, but there's some ground loop at some of the demos.
