    love this build. first time using your products, and the switch over from standard coil liners is breezy - this thing is so dang light & zippy! will probably give it a try with cartridges down the line, but so far this is a perfect liner for me 👍

    Love my V3R as well, one with the new weighted impact screw, one without. And just got my mojobox today and ordered the new rubber bands this morning.

    Thank you for the info Dan! Recently bought the v323 as my first from you, beautiful machine. My goal is to use with standard needles and possibly carts later. If I understand right, for fine line stippling I'll keep the stroke on the high setting and cam lined up at about 10oclock with low volts. For a traditional 9 liner, short stroke, abt 6v & cam lined up to 1oclock. Does this sound right or do you have a better recommendation?

    I hope I am wording this clearly enough to make sense.
    On a V3R with some miles… the “stroke” adjustment screw settles into the top of the frame (and you compensate by a quarter turn/ eighth turn etc). You also have subsequent wear on the stroke wheel.
    So my question is: by turning in the armature adjustment screw should I also take into consideration a slight decreasing turn in the worn stroke wheel to compensate for the return to spec in A bar stroke? (Or is it negligible)
    Maybe the concept of duty cycle balance kinda sums up what I’m asking?
    Apologies, I’m intricately used to coil machine geometry, iron domains and spring theory.. so trying to understand better.
    Thank you Dan.

      Mine still works the same after 2 years of use I have the v3r without the front wighed impact maybe it breaks in more cause of the weight but mines still feels the same I do all my outlines with this and the v7.5 and switch back and forth so I use it atleast once day for this time

    This machine changed my everything. I swore against rotary. 26 years. I feel like I should get a coverup now or something.🤣 cut my hair?… idk🤣
    Dan…can we PLEASE get an RCA converter? I find that there’s a notch in the back of my frame on the bottom that has developed that oxidation is building up in and interferes with the current. I have to make sure the clipcord isn’t in this notch to ensure a consistent voltage. And yea, 3 brand new clipcords have confirmed this

      sounds like you need a trendy haircut and an abstract face tattoo :-) kidding, this thing rocks - such a zippy liner, and im hesitant to stray from the standard coils as well.

    I don’t really understand the side cam. So in whatever “stroke setting” (3,4,5,6 etc) you want the line in the cam to be aligned with the notch in the frame? And then you want to make sure when you press the bar down the cams line is always at around 1 o clock? Is there a sidewinder that’s easiest to use or tune? Its a brilliant machine but I feel like I’m constantly wondering if I have the machine even set up right….

    • @ivanmendoza8457
      @ivanmendoza8457 Год назад

      If it feels right and your lines are crispy its right it's all preference for me longer stroke for huge groupings lower for smaller groupings of 7 and under its really easy once you've had it for a while you'll know just have the impact screw and lines aligned right when the cam makes contact with the spring, he's made this machine so it can't get to out of wack once the lines are aligned and impact is correct u can't go wrong

    This a bar really helps with the spitting ive had no isdues might be cause if the added weight or the bend that makes the needle lick the tube better

    • @ivanmendoza8457
      @ivanmendoza8457 4 месяца назад

      Update the rubber band placement seems to be the main spitting cause it either has to be paralel when the a bars at its resting spot never up having it down just makes it loose something for lining it works well that way for shading

    Man I been using carts on it for months now, I like it a lot, only issue is I do run lines so much slower than standard needles, also every cartridge has different tension so I feel like I constantly adjust it but it’s the shit for sure because you still have give to it

    • @dankubin5386

    Hey dan quick question, i use the sidewinder v3r with cartridges and with the rubber band like you show but for the past months I've noticed that using it without a rubber band makes it have a harder hit and overall writes better? And also when i use a rubber band now it makes a humming sound and the machine gets really soft. is there anything you can recommend?

    hello Dan I hope you are well ... I have an opinion I don't know how useful it is .. but when I see your machine with the cartige system .. believe me that (ok you also made an ergonomically and functionally perfect grip .. but .. I your machines sorry but I don't see them for any reason in the world With the use of cartridges (I tried both on mojobox on v3r and on my v7.4 and the standard needle with all the types you give us I don't consider these machines at all suitable for the cartridges..(I see them forced to adapt to a time that doesn't belong to them.. I don't have to lick any ass but I've been using hybrids for almost 19 years now and not only yours (but also those of Italian manufacturers with a great desire to create..) but my first v4 I remember that it totally changed my way of tattooing... I'm waiting for my v46r from the Wildcat guys.. and I've been using the coil system for years.. please dan.. don't get weird ideas making pens please why would you kill us all of us loyal friends and customers.. great ab raccio from Sicily.. and from the splendid Syracuse hello dan

    Around what voltage do you use for lining vs colour packing.

    • @dankubin5386
      @dankubin5386  2 года назад

      I feel the current V3r is best with a shorter stroke and higher volts for lining, so smart around the 2-3 stroke setting at 6-6.5 volts for needles 9+
      Shading around 5-5.5 lift up on the rubber band to reduce return spring tension. This will allow it to function properly at lower speeds/voltages

    Why do you make the new machines with plastic armature bars?

    • @dankubin5386

      They are 7075 aluminum, not plastic
      I made the swingarm on the Swingliner out of Delrin, because it needed those mechanical properties.
