    I've watched all 6 of your Ipswich videos as I lived there from 1958 as a baby til 1974. I recognise so much but the Ipswich I knew has long disappeared! I lived in Cobbold Street & Fonnereau Road, both very close to Christchurch Park. Very interesting to watch 👍😊

      Glad you enjoyed them. The reason why I make them is so that those who have moved away can remember once again their childhood home.

    Loved your Ipswich history walk, Alice. We enjoyed seeing Curzon Lodge and its interesting shop and venue use today. Sorry, we're not rugby fans, in fact don't know anything about the sport, but loved hearing the Princes story. We also enjoyed the spooky tale of the Haunted house. We won't use the toilet or sleep upstairs. Enjoyed seeing the Falcon Pub and the Bowmen club. Loved the stroll though this quaint scenic town. Loved seeing the old buildings and hearing about it's past. Thanks so much for bringing us along!

      I so enjoy visiting Ipswich. Such an interesting town. I'm not a rugby fan either but I know many people ate sports fans so I like to include sporting statues as often as I can.

    Have you got any pictures of Birkfield Drive and the maisonettes? They're torn down now. I lived there as a kid. By Gypeswick Park at the bottom of the hill

      @jackgoodings 7 месяцев назад

      @@AliceGoss Aah, there's a history there, worth exploring. A community from the 1970s .. there's no sign of the three blocks of maisonettes now, only new streets and houses, and a wall where there once was a park fence. And the tarmac path that winds through the park, it now leads into the bushes and goes nowhere .. nobody would ever know that there was once a whole community.

    At the back of Manning's. Pub there. Is a cell for keeping prisoners. The. Stone seating is worn away by years of occupation. Also a massive grape vine hundreds of years old. I was the manager of the pub in the early eighties.

    • @AliceGoss
      @AliceGoss  Год назад +1

      Wow. Thanks for that. I will take a look next tome I'm in Ipswich. There are still a few cells about if you know where to look. Braintree has one.
