Anyone interested in the fact that this "news" station did not say whether or not they asked an Aldi spokesperson WHY they're leaving?? Who can blame a business for calling it a wrap in areas that are not affording them a profit.
".......because they knew the neighborhood needed it, but now they're taking it away?" here it is AGAIN folks, the classic pretending to be the victims while playing completely naïve :-/
Oh my goodness. Who would have thought such a thing could ever happen in the Twin Cities? You people got what you deserved. I left the day after I graduated the U in 2007 and NEVER LOOKED BACK.
I'd be interested to know why they closed. I know here in Saint Paul shoplifting has been on the rise, which has a big impact on a store's bottom line. I've seen several people walk out of stores without paying the last few months, sadly mostly kids too.
More stores will close until you address that rich vibrant culture there. But, city leaders just won't do it and the same people will keep voting them in again and again
@@lauras9943 regardless of this one business. They've had countless business owners on the local news talking about the crime being the reason they are leaving or limiting hours of operation. It's not racist to listen to the people living it. And burying your head in the sand and ignoring a problem is definitely a no bad way forward. That's what happens often though because people are afraid of wrongfully being labeled a bigot. Which really makes no sense that so many people assume it's racism. The people I know in north Minneapolis and some other areas are very open and clear that they think crime is getting worse.

Who did the residents of N. Minneapolis vote for? No, Aldi did not close the store. The residents of N. Minneapolis closed it!
Exactly my point. A business can not survive when 90% of the customers are thieves and shoplifters.
Very well putting
Yes, they voted with their pocketbooks.
Keep voting Democrat, this is where it leads... welcome to JB's America.
Imagine trying to run a business in north mpls
Everyone who thinks they love blatt so much needs to go live among them for just a month.
Defund police ....reap the rewards
Why no mention of shoplifting driving businesses out?

The same leadership will still win by whopping margins...
Look in the mirror Northside. You all doing it to yourselves!
It's not just about stores closing. Yesterday I purchased 3 tomatoes at L&B. 8 DOLLARS!!! so messed up.
Go to Target or Walmart! Why would you bother to shop there if it’s that expensive.

They're part of the problem just like they are at the border.
Why did the grocery store close?
Can you imagine trying to run a business in the middle of Davante and Tyrell’s squabbles?

Democrat miniondom amongst the professional classes has ruined so much. So sick of the crotch centered people trying to rule the world.

Loving how this has somehow turned into a Democrat vs Republican issue in the comments.
Not once, did the video mention Aldi's reason for closing.
Don't have to we all know why 🤣
It's 100% about politics
God forbid leadership be held responsible after watching conditions continuously worsen year after year.

Losing money because of theft. To many problems. Employees don't feel safe.
