Hi Nick. 2 years ago today i went in for Deep Brain Stimulator surgery for young onset parkinsons. i found your channel while recovering in hospital. when i got out i couldn't for the life of me remember your channel name. all i could remember was you started each episode driving to your fishing spot and your "see ya later buddy" when you released the fish. took a few months of watching random channels before i found you again. love the quality of your vids, keep up the good work. you never know the impact you have on people's lives
Nick has that rare quality where just "hanging out" with him & sharing his fishing adventures puts you in a better mood. The vid/audio/editing, etc, is top-notch, but Nick's personality makes it great. Love it! Keep up the good work 👍
I may have commented this before but those carp make great fish cakes. Soak the filets in milk to reduce potential negative flavors, 24 hours later put the meat through a grinder and all the y bones disappear. Then mix with egg, breadcrumb, and your favorite seasonings, put diced onions in ( I like to). Finally fry them suckers up. Great video as always, God bless.
My 3 year old son and I love watching your videos together. He got a toy fishing pole for Christmas and now he runs around with his fishing pole shouting “fish on!”
Also if you get tired of those bighead carp and silver carp you might have a raptor chapter in your area that will take those fish to feed the captive eagles and other birds, something to think about if you haven't already.
I'd have to imagine that local zoos and wildlife rehab centers would be ecstatic for fresh fish supply. If not them, ASPCA chartered shelters would probably be grateful as it'd probably help with offsetting food costs.
@@666toysoldier I think that there is prejudice towards them as being "unclean" fish, but they are also highly invasive and destructive. Most people kill them for that reason. I do think that just leaving them on the bank is stupid though.
Another awesome video Nick thank you for bringing us along on your adventures.... A Guy was wondering if we are going to see any ice fishing or predator fishing like pike or musky in the future ? Also i wanted to say i really enjoyed the trout fishing videos and love the variety of species you share with us here.... Until next time Tight Lines Brother and may all your travels be safe God Bless
It really looks like the silver, and big head carp have taken over what I'm guessing is the Mississippi river drainage. I sure hope they don't end up in the great lakes, where I fish.thanks for sticking with it in the cold wind. Catch y'all next Thursday
Nick, I'm starting to think you might need to have a new challenge of "100 Different Ways to Cook Bighead and Silver Carp" because they seem to be living up to the Kentucky Tuna moniker with how they always seem to go after grubs and swirlytails. Funny thing about that by the way, lot of fishermen in SE Asia actually use a method where they'll make doughballs with coarse flour and coconut fibers. Seems for some reason that bighead/silvers really like going after vegetation or small worms.
I liked the Instrumentals And the Lyrics... to the Background music of the first song! Nice. Very Nice. And, Whatta Beast, that first Carp! Blessings*SharonZ
Whenever I hook into something big I usually say to myself "don't come off until I can see what you are". Have lost too many fish without knowing what they are, not knowing always drove me nuts.
I was up there on Saturday and drove over the spillway and looked to see if you were there but there was nobody fishing when I drove by. Glad you had a good day.
If considering the use of baits like crab again. It would be worth getting a roll of _'bait elastic'_ that sea anglers (and some pike anglers) normally use. Its like a long or stretchy roll of string made up of latex or other bio-degradable material. A few tight loops around your bait and it will keep it on the hook a little bit longer both when casting and when its sitting at the bottom. Shame about the big head carps though. Guessing there arent enough big predators around keeping the population in check. As always, Loving the content and the B-roll of you not falling at the end caught me off guard 😂
Nick I have found that a product called surgitube *available on ebay, works very well to keep "soft" baits like liver and I guess crab meat too, on the hook. I love your videos and live nearly in Arkansas and would like to know the location of the spillways that you fish. I figured out the last one was C. Lake.
Last Saturday, i went to fishing in the morning. Finally happened to me: the Nick's old fashion "I thought i was snagged..." So hilarious, for a second my crank bait stops in the middle of the river. It was a big Dorado (maybe 3 or 4 pounds), a rarity this days... But on the first jump, broke off. I was really desapointing and upset... Finally i came home defeated but with a beautiful image on my memory: that amazing jump, only Dorados can give you. 😌👌🏽 Good video Nick!
Love your videos as always❤️ I am from India, we use chicken liver and fish intestines to catch big catfish. I know you have tried chicken liver before and you dont like the smell and all, but it will give you results. Catfish like those blood smelly baits.
Try using some big swim baits an top water spooks at the big spill way with all the seagulls an pelicans for striper an hybrids they definitely there especially in winter when rivers are warmer an bait fish are schooling
You have caught at least 3 species I have never seen but always wanted to catch: buffalo, drum and bowfin. Are there pike, walleye or pickerel in the waters where you fish? I would like to catch them also.
When using shrimp or crab legs poach in garlic butter, the more garlic the better. When putting on hook leave enough shell on to push the hook thru and it will stay on better, bonus is if it's kept cold you have a snack if they aren't biting.
Carp make good fertilizer for gardens. Whenever my grandpa and I would catch one, we'd bury it. That garden was a great place to dig nightcrawlers. Big fat ones.
Hey Nick, when you are fishing with stuff that is hard to keep on the hook, wrap it in either old nylons or a piece of mess onion bag. That will help keep it on the hook.
I'm eating a can of Spaghettios and Nick's fishing with crab legs. One of us made better life choices 🤣 Rock on Nick 🤘😎
RIGHT!!
Nick beri saya joran dan reel pancing saya gak punya uang untuk membeli 🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭🎣

Wait until he catches the dog and yells "see ya later Buddy"
My 10 year old loves this channel and releases fish saying “see ya later buddy”. 😂
This spillway consistently gets you some big fish…probably my favorite location you go to outside of the pond of giants 🎣
Let’s go buddy!!! I needed some positivity today and boom here you are! Hope everything is good bud

Fun fact. Carp is the #1 food fish consumed by world. We in India literally live on them

I just asked if that was a giant lake, forgetting that the Mississippi is near lol
It's so funny how you can be so cold fishing and the minute you get a fish on the line you instantly get warm.
Great job baby!! You caught me with crab legs, too!! ❤
Haha thanks baby ! 😘
Another, great adventure . A pleasure to be with you on the spillway ( not in it 😂) CU next time .
Nick I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your fishing adventures. You give the most enjoyable commentary and always positive.
It's always a pleasure when you bring out a new video. Thanks
It is always great when Nick uploads.
The video editing is awesome, great job
After years of producing A class content, Nick continues to make absolutely amazing content
I love when you go to this spillway. I happen to be driving past this lake right now on my way back from a job.
Nick, you are a lifesaver this time of year. I can't catch anything in January, but I love watching you fish!
Cold day for you, thanks for taking me fishing!

Seems like the carp are biting everywhere you go. Lol. Great video Nick!

You could chuck a go pro underwater 5 metres deep from where you are fishing, that would help.

So excited to see what you caught this time
You should head down to Florida one day & do this kinda thing down there, they have some insane fish in their spillways!
Hahaha, i Never seen someone get so excited about catching carp but hey as long as your having fun, that’s all that counts!!!
Somewhere out there, 618 has a walk-in freezer full of random species of invasive carp that he is "totally gonna use as bait one day"🤣
It's always great when you upload, Keep it up!
Have you ever fished in New England? If you have, what would you recommend for lures?

The videos and the sound effects make me relaxed and just happy, thanks for all the great videos
Nice catches! Not sure if we have any of those big carp in Ohio. Still waiting on Dad to take me fishing this year! See you later buddy!
Big fish big fish big fish is music to my ears
Only time I've caught buffalo are when fishing for other species and they're always a welcome surprise. Excellent video!
Great video Nick, to bad the carp have taken over. It's good to remove them but it is not enough. Good thing for the Buffalo.
Nick always has the coolest music! I could use a playlist selection from him 😎
I enjoy your fishing experiences that you share here but I also like the music you choose and the drone views. Thank You for the overall work you do.

Try an egg loop knot next time you wanna fish crab legs. I use that knot for salmon skeins during the king run, I think it would do you well
At this point you have fished every spill way on earth 🤣❤
At the end of the video you caught my jig 😮 would love to get that back if you wouldn’t mind
I would love to see the face of the person who finds those crab leg shells! What thoughts would be going through their minds? Haha
Always look forward to the videos. You do a great job. Music is outstanding. Videography and editing is very well done.
Thank you very much!
I love it when your "Boss" music kicks in. That's when the highlight starts

Great video. I'd just like to suggest to you, instead of using snow crab legs, try using soft shell crabs. They are awesome bait for huge catfish.
old stinky shrimp is my favorite here in Florida.
I love your videos Nick. The crab was cool and I bet a catfish would bite it another day! I always want to catch big fish like you too.
