This is a love song about forbidden love in folk style with modern styling. And the color choice is very traditional as well, especially in Ukrainian embroidery: red symbolizes love and black - sorrow, which is perfect for the song about forbidden and therefore tragic love. And the very futuristic outfit transcends the time. A very strong original entry.

I don't think that it's even a question whether it will qualify or not, I'm easily seeing this song in the top-10. It's something totally new, it's not just another folky song, it's the best ethnic song to ever make an appearance on Eurovision in terms of staging, styling, uniqueness, authenticity and its overall pagan shock value. I think it should appeal to all Europeans, not just Slavic nations. However, it's also a daring/risky song, as people might just dismiss it as being 'weird' - it's a huge risk, but Ukraine doesn't play by the rules

Rachel dear, Ireland did it long ago with the Voice, during the celtic revival of the nineties, and won 1996. After 3 wins in 4 years we've had to actively try to lose year after year because all the hosting bankrupted us badly. It still feels as if we are still trying to lose, we can't get out of that habit. Our traditional music isn't fashionable anymore though, this decade is that of the vikings and the steppes. Still Ukraine is pretty brave to send something so cultural.

Personally it's not my taste but once again Ukraine is giving us quality and uniqueness once again. It will stand out against everything this year.

My only criticism for this song is the pyro-guitar. It looks cheap, while the rest of the production is just of the highest quality.
