For example, if a dedicated railway line is built parallelly to the Deli-Mumbai expressway, these superfast expresses or semi-bullet trains can be run on them at 18+ km/hour and reach Mumbai from Delhi in less than 10 hours. This makes sense. Similarly, a track from Chennai to Delhi can reduce the travel between the 2 cities by half! Today, the fastest train on this route is the Chennai-Nizamuddin Duronto which covers the approx. 2200 kms in 28 hours. If The Chennai - Nizamuddin dedicated route is developed and Duronto and Rajhdani are run at 180+ km/hour, these trains can reach Nizamuddin under 20 hours! Let the route connect new smart cities which will not only create more employment opportunities, but will reduce the crowded cities which can then plan and make the cities much better to live in. If India is to move forward, such projects must be started immediately.

Soon we started talking about slow speed of trains. Then he told me that 7 made in India locomotives were exported to Brazil and he had gone there to give training to loco-pilots on those machines. There the same locomotives easily achieved speed of 220 kmph because, there was almost nil traffic (of trains) on tracks. Here in India, there are so many trains running in every directions, so as soon as I exceed speed of 110- 120, within 10 min. I get caution sign on control panel as some other train is ahead of mine, so I have to go slow to maintain required gap. 😊.

You're right Andreas, so many accidents do happen almost everyday and people not just die but many also get seriously injured. Govt.'s railway police (GRP) is also there who keep doing rounds of tracks and they warn people, catch them and do fine on them etc... but I don't know why people don't take these things seriously and wander around tracks.... may be trains' speed, sound of wheels and honking horn give them kinda thrill... but that's crazy in my view.
Do one thing when the train engine is far away click on 10 secs forward u will see the train is half passed...this is for those who cross railway tracks thinking the train is far away...please dont do this eg ..7:27 & 7:37 and 8:06 & 8:16 Dont understimate their speeds and dont risk your life it is important for your people!!
