The Judges still denied an appeal. Sabrina would have gotten third if it wasnt for the False Penalty that put her score as tie breaker with Barbosu. Sabrina didnt get the tie breaker either because of the penalty. If the scores of the 3 girls were allocated correctly they would rank 3)Sabrina,4)Chiles, and 5)Barbosou. Interestingly Sabrina and Jordan were the last to perform. This additional appeal was on Sabrina's behalf AND to have all 3 Girls a Bronze medal with all respecting Gymnasts agreeing to it. It is the IOC that decided to order chiles return it and only allocate it to Ana Barbosou.

That podium picture will always and forever be an iconic moment …. I faithfully watched every gymnastic event these Olympic Games. I am a 62 year old white woman. I did not see 3 black women on the podium. Perhaps I should have made a point of noticing skin color but my vision was clouded by the display of sportsmanship and pure respect they showed for one another as athletes. Throughout the gymnastic events there was always the display of genuine support from our American team to every opponent. To cloud the narrative with any racial remarks whatsoever is shameful and insulting to all of the athletes. Perhaps the Olympic board and subsequent haters should learn a thing or two by them. They screwed up the Bronze metal win for Jordan Chiles. The white girl LOST because the scores were added wrong to begin with. The appeal happened in a timely matter and was adjusted too late, which was not Jordan's fault. The Russian opponents were mad because they thought that the appeal was entered too late, not that Jordan's score was lower. The Romanians were willing to take the metal that they didn't deserve over a 4 second lapse of time.

She did get the higher score. When the judges originally judge her routine, they valued it incorrectly. So they took deductions from a wrong valuation. her coaches contested the score, pointing out to the judges, that the starting value they used was lower than her actual starting value. That’s win at the Olympics the judges amended her score to the higher score based off of her actual value of her routine coaches, have one minute from the time the scores put up to contest a score. Her coaches put the inquiry in with the judges 47 seconds into that 602nd time allotment. The Romanians then contested that the inquiry was put in in the appropriate amount of time. Claiming that their time had actually exceeded the 60 that was allowable. The Olympic committee decided that the inquiry was put in over the 62nd time. Period but according to the video actual footage, it was 47 seconds. Leaving 13 seconds to spare. So the argument is not over her score but rather the time. For the score being contested. Jordan Chiles was robbed by incompetent people who didn’t properly defend her like they should’ve. It’s sad, but she did get a higher score. Please pardon any typos that will sure be in this. I do not have my reading glasses on and I am talking out this response.

So.....just to be clear, the dispute was not about her routine and how it was not scored correctly in the first place. The dispute is about the time limit in which the rating was refuted by the coach? So, Jordan won third place in the event after all. She lost her bronze medal due to the technicality and time constraints of reporting a wrong calculation to Olympic judges since they missed it the first time. This story is sad and pitiful. I hope the Romanian Olympian cherishes the metal she fraudfully earned. At the end of the day, she was not better and does not deserve it.

You have to wonder, with a finding of 4 seconds late, what were they watching?! I mean this was investigated and this is what they come up with? Now the US finds that the complaint was filed well within the limit....with video proof? What materials did the court of appeals have to review to come up with such exact (and apparently wrong) numbers?

@@c.holmqvist2580 no, it’s not. You may not know the full story. And I can speak with great knowledge on this being a nationally competitive gymnast myself back in the day. She did get the higher score. When the judges originally judge her routine, they valued it incorrectly. So they took deductions from a wrong valuation. her coaches contested the score, pointing out to the judges, that the starting value they used was lower than her actual starting value.
That’s win at the Olympics the judges amended her score to the higher score based off of her actual value of her routine coaches, have one minute from the time the scores put up to contest a score. Her coaches put the inquiry in with the judges 47 seconds into that 602nd time allotment.
The Romanians then contested that the inquiry was put in in the appropriate amount of time. Claiming that their time had actually exceeded the 60 that was allowable. The Olympic committee decided that the inquiry was put in over the 62nd time. Period but according to the video actual footage, it was 47 seconds. Leaving 13 seconds to spare. So the argument is not over her score but rather the time. For the score being contested. Jordan Chiles was robbed by incompetent people who didn’t properly defend her like they should’ve. It’s sad, but she did get a higher score. Please pardon any typos that will sure be in this. I do not have my reading glasses on and I am talking out this response.

I think there should be some sort of clause in the rules, because it wasn't the gymnast's fault, and even her coach who challenged the score too late. The coach wouldn't have done that had the judges done their jobs correctly. This is completely unfair. 😐😑

All the whining Romania is doing and then the people who are trying to strip her of her medal, isn't it interesting all they're talking about is they went over the time limit. Not once have I heard anyone say Jordan should be stripped because the Romanian girl actually had a better score.
All gymnasts have until the next one performs to challenge their score, which is about 3-4 minutes. Except the last one to perform, they only have a minute. Now tell me how's that fair to anyone?
I think race has some play in it, especially since it got the first all black podium in history. But also I feel like because she is American and we racked those medals up. 126 medals to our name, next person was China with 91.
