I disagree with the suggested leader technique, if the leader doesn't pull rope tight then the second doesn't have perhaps the best feedback in a no communication scenario: feeling the leader belaying bit by bit until having the second snug, for me this is the best assurance you can get before uncloving. I never had issues removing my clove hitch even when the anchor is pulled up and tight, slipping the clove out of the biner should be pretty straightforward and adding extra procedures because of it seems unnecessary premature optimization in my humble option.
