If the Skmei had a mineral glass crystal it would blow the Casio away ! The Skmei with a count down timer and a dual time is all a world traveler needs !
I picked up a Skmei 1628 off Aliexpress for $5. For that price I'll deal with the useless flashing sun. Also got a nato band to go with it I plan on installing and let this be my beater watch. Good video!
I like most Casio watches but the Skmei is also a decent watch for the money. Even if the Skmei wears out before the comparable Casio, it is still worth it since the Skmei is much less expensive than a comparable G-Shock. However, the Skmei watches will last a long time as long as you take care of it and don’t thrash it.
It's not quite like that. I had a Skmei wr50m. Nice display, big numbers, quite accurate, but after a few months of wearing it on my hand, some garbage got under the buttons and the buttons got stuck and became unusable. This has never happened to me with Casio watches.
Numbers are easier to read on SKMEI and its luminescence is more powerful, a big plus in low light or with weaker eyesight. Also price ratio is 1:8 where I live.
Thanks for the comparison, I think the Casio is better most likely however ..... I have seen those Skmei watches here in Australia for $15 and I think I will try one just to see how long it lasts.
Thanks for your comment. The Casio is better but it also costs a lot more. I think the Skmei will last for a long time, it's better than I expected. It's well built, but unfortunately they ruined the watch with the nonsense flashing cross.
@@WorldReviews I used that same Skmei model you compared, lasted around 2 years, til the strap recently came apart on me. The watch still survives but I see no point on replacing the strap now, decided to upgrade to a GShock, went for the 6900 model, currently awaiting it's arrival.
Good video ...I am an avid Casio fan and have many of their watches... I also bought a Skmei 1628 here in the UK for just £12 ..I was SHOCKED at how good this watch was for the price.. However, what is with the "Flashing cross" I have found one little "Flaw" in the Skemi the accuracy (How well it holds time) Mine loses around 7 Seconds a Week. The Casios are far better than this... However, this is "Liveable" with..
Thanks. The Skmei is as good as watch can be for £12. The flashing cross is an unnecessary feature, very annoying in the beginning, but after a while you forget about it. My Skmei 1628 also loses about 5-10 seconds after a week, but after a month it has still not lost more than 15 seconds. My Casio DW 5600 runs about 15 seconds faster a month, but it deviates slower.
@@WorldReviews Thank you so much for the reply .. I hope to see some more watch reviews from you in the future.. This was a good honest review in this video. Superb Kind regards Brian
The battery is finished after 3 years depending on how often you use the back light, to activate the alarm and hourly chime on the Skmei you must push the light button to the upper left, something that leads to unnecessary drain of the battery.
I stopped buying Casio as they have doubled and even tripled the price of their watches since Covid. So s***w them, Skmei will do for me. I'd prefer a Casio but won't pay their prices and just bought 4 different to try them out
The Skmei 1628 is ok, but the one I had, did reset without reason a couple of times, also the buttons jammed on one occation. This has never happend to my Casio DW 5600.
I don’t agree, the quality of the materials leaves much to be desired, I thought the same thing, why pay more, aand bought skmei, after I wiped their “glass” it was all covered in micro scratches. Although the strap is soft, it is also unknown how long it will last. I have Casio ediface and I’ve been wearing them for three years now, only the glass is scratched, but due to normal impacts and the fact that it is not protected in any way, in general I only changed the battery
I have had my Skmei 1628 since February. I dont care about the micro scratches. The issue with the Skmei 1628 is that it's not reliable. Occasionally the display malfunctions, it resets and the timer jams.

That's my biggest complaint with the dw5600 is no dual time.

5$ with free shipping sounds like a good deal, but I would rather pick the 10$ Skmei 1998 instead, it has a better display with clear digits.

I have been wearing my Skmei 1628 for 6 months now. It's ok but the display was reset once, so it's not 100% reliable.
@@WorldReviewsThat's because of quality control issues, if you're lucky you can get a very strong one

@@WorldReviewsI love my blue one... $5.50🙂🇺🇸
I prefer my Skmei 1134

@@hernan_GB I'm not surprised that the strap on your Skmei broke after 2 years, but I don't think that a Casio strap will last a lot longer.
@@WorldReviews probably true, I'm still using the Skmei 1776, I like that one better than the 1628.

How long will the replica last, how long does the battery last??😂

The skmei 1134 looks more like the gshock, also can't stand that flashing icon...
@@chriskelly509 the 1134 looks like the dw5600 but it's bigger as it has a 50mm dial diameter.
