I just love this series it’s my favorite of all series made going as far back as the 60s involving perhaps the most infamous love triangles in Josean history, the king Sukjong, Queen Inhyeon, Jang Hui-bin and Later Choi suk-bin. I rewatched the entire series during quarantine and I found myself discovering interesting subplots that I might have overlooked the first time and appreciating the star casting.
Am i the only one who feel sorry for consort jang ?! I dint hate her at all, she is the most pity character in this drama :'( she is not that heartless actually if u try to understand from her perspective

Shirley Hwang You know, she didn't have to choose to become their enemies. Toxic people and jealousy led her to the wrong path. Her family and the people around her manipulated her for the good of their own. But if she had believed in her own judgment, if she had joined side with Dong Yi, if would have cost her relationship with her family but if that would help her to have true friends and allies, then why not. It would have been good for herself and her son. In the end, it's all about negative thinking and negative people that led to negative decisions. All things have consequences, you can't really blame everyone else. You're responsible for your own decision.
What's stupid about this is that Hee Bin can just let Dong Yi be a queen while her son becomes the future king. But the jealousy and the greed ruined everything. She wanted more than what she already have. If only her supporters are contented with the power that they have, they could've avoided death.

However because Hui Bin is the crown prince’s mother, Suk Bin still gives a slight bow to her to acknowledge Jang’s seniority. They come into conflict in this clip as Suk Bin finds out Hui Bin had been using witchcraft to curse the recently deceased Queen, however is willing to put this aside for the sake to their sons brotherly relationship. 이상하게 이 드라마에서 동이보다 희빈 캐릭터가 더 정이 가더라 동이는 여주답게 너무 이상적이고 순진한데 희빈은 삐뚫어진 길을 갔지만 현실적이라고 해야할까
희빈 케릭터 연기하신분이 근데.....눈이 튀어나올꺼같아요....개구리왕눈이스타일이라....희빈이 실제로는 이뻐서 순종이 한번보고 반했다던데....너무 감정이입이 안돼요.....
김태희나 그외 한채영같은 이쁘면서도 악역도 가능한분이 하셨으면 좀 괜찮았을텐데....
