I'm also older and grew up in a different musical world, but when I heard Jinjer for the first time a few years ago, it was immediately clear to me that this band is something very special!!!! and years later I realize that I was absolutely not mistaken. once more many thanx für your reaction on this band. warm greetings from germany
I’m enjoying watching your Jinjer journey. Checking out their catalog is definately a wild ride. I would suggest Outlander or Sit, Stay, Rolliver as potential future reactions. I don’t think you will be disappointed with either. More Jinjer please and thank you. 🤘🍻
Roman said in an interview they were trying to write riffs like Lamb of God and Chimera around this time. When Tati added lyrics, it wasn't Lamb of God anymore. ruclips.net/video/FjfBF57h2Eo/видео.html
Totally agree with what you said about feeling the harsh vocals. So many screamers and growlers seem to be using their technique to represent an emotion rather than expressing their emotions through their technique. It was a big part of why I never got into screaming and growling until I found Jinjer was that those I'd sampled hadn't made me feel the feels of what they were singing about, but Tatiana's vocals always just grab me and don't let go. No Hoard Of Value lyrics video and Outlander uploaded by "Failure .Color" are some more great songs from this era. Destroy is a lesser known song that is a bit earlier, but the rapid-fire switching back and forth between growls and cleans is incredibly impressive - the recording session video at Beastarium is the best version. Cheers!
There is a live version of this song from the current lineup. The way they do it with one less guitar and a different drummer is very interesting. The difference in drummers is especially different. Vlad is a more progressive/jazz influenced drummer where previous drummers in the group were more slash metal. More about really fast riffs. Hence in this version there is a faster kick drum pattern during the guitar solo section. In the live version they drop the second guitar part during the one solo I think Roman does in the entire catalog of songs. I think just the drums and bass as backing in that section is actually better IMO.
Looking through what you have done so far, knowing what you have liked so far, and assuming you're not ready to change lanes yet...You should do Outlander and Just Another...Outlander is that Punk Rock sound you seem to enjoy the most, and Just Another video is just one of my turn-to-good feeling energy taps that has a lot of what you enjoy as well. I think you might enjoy Inhale album more than most, and King of Everything album might be your favorite...I struggle between King of Everything and Cloud Factory...although I do love Micro and Macro as well, and Wallflowers is growing on me.
Their musicality, lyricism and composition is very, very impressive.. .Tati has several different 'personalities' including what I like to call her 'Bond Girl' sound as well as some 'Katy Perry' etc.. to go along with her truly well nuanced growls/screamo... She is without a doubt extraordinarily versatile as a vocalist and the current lineup lends itself to more prog than heavy, although they definitely don't ignore the metalcore. There's a bit more storytelling in the later stuff. Home Back, Wallflower, Judgement and Punishment, Vortex, I Speak Astronomy, Bad Water... each is rich in its own way... But the old stuff.. "baby Jinjer" ... still shows a LOT of the potential that the band has always had. Being from the Ukraine and having to live through what they've lived through has definitely been an influence. Tati's done a lot of interviews like her Loudwire interview and was even on The Charismatic Voice which is an interesting dichotomy... a professional opera singer interviewing Tati.. lol... Eugene even did a collab with Alex Hefner... so they're definitely not afraid of talking to people which, IMO is f'in cool as it can be..
Love your reactions because you seem to appreciate and are knowledgeable about music in general. You ever check out any Ice nine kills? Pretty cool band if you wanna give them a shot if you haven't heard them already. The lead singer, Spencer, has an amazing voice, and their music/videos are based on horror novels/movies. Keep it up. 👍
Jinjer are gonna be legends if they aren't already. And if you like them, you should check out Orbit culture once you return from the jinjer rabbit hole. 🤘🤘🤘
I get what you mean about the pageantry. That's the one drawback of having a female vocalist with a voice and face like hers. Unfair or not, even though the band is great and works hard, she's still the ticket draw.
She is the initial draw, but the more you watch of her, the more you hear the amazing talented band behind her. When it all fits you realize you continue to listen - not just because of her.
Great reaction man! They grabbed me right away too. I went down the rabbit hold, hard! I highly highly recommend this version of Perennial. ruclips.net/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/видео.html This one will blow you away, I promise!
I get a lot more Lamb of God influences from this track. If you have not already checked them out, I recommend them. I think they might be a bit closer to the kind of things you like. For something a bit different (but still metal), I recommend checking out Bloodywood's track "Dana Dan". This is probably their most aggressive track, but for very good reason as the subject is worthy of aggression even from this pacifist. There are influences in their music that I am not that fond of, Nu Metal, but the messages in their songs makes up for the influences I am not that fond of.
Since you are so into Jinjer, you should probably check out Spiritbox. Their album “Eternal Blue” was named 2021 Album of the Year by many publications and hit number 3 on Billboard’s Top Album sales. It features another dynamic female singer (prior iwrestledabearonce singer). “Holy Roller” was their breakthrough hit, but I’d recommend “Blessed Be” as their first song to check out. “Circle With Me” (one take) is mind blowing once you know the band a bit.
Sit, Stay, Roll Over - Mediator - Call Me A Symbol. 🤘Stay well my friend.
Jinjer - colossus its very heavy,
Colossus is epic.
I'll keep adding the playlist. On the list.
No hoard of value should be next after this one Good job sir🤘🤘
Yeah, No Hoard Of Value is an incredible lyrics video and a powerful song about the coal mining and industrial region of Ukraine they are from

Fantastic Comment! Thanks for that.
Id like to see you react to " just another " by jinjer. See what you think.

Bloodywood is definitely one to check out - folk metal from India.
I'll keep adding the playlist. On the list.
Live versions are better
I like to mix it up.
