A thomas and friends CGI counterpart for Hercules is Hiro. Hiro is big, strong, wise and looked up on by others. He is also respected by nearly everyone, also like a gentle giant. Hiro is like a mirror to Hercules, and im suprised not many people noticed.
I'm honestly speechless about Hercules and Ten Cents being brothers. I did notice that Ten Cents had a eagle on his hat and so did Hercules but I didn't think about to much but then you hit me with that Bombshell
In all those years when I was a child watching Tugs (now 27), I never knew he and Ten Cents were brothers. That will explain why Ten Cents confides to him so much. This is one of the reasons why I love Hercules so much, he's a badass.
An interesting note about Herc/Ten being brothers - the _only_ time in the show when Herc legitimately loses his composure is immediately after when Ten yells out "I can't hold her much longer!" during the out-of-control Princess Alice docking in High Winds. Herc's reaction is a _frantic_ triple-blast of his whistle - a patten he _never_ does at any other point in the series - as he _yells_ for everyone else to apply more power. His tone of voice there is noticeably more panicked than the merely-tense "What's going on back there??" just before. It's subtle, but once you view the scene through that lens, you can't unsee it. Herc's definitely got a very protective bond with his lil' brother. :D
Just gotta say that I love the contrast between Herc and Ten Cents as brothers. On the one hand you have this smooth-talking, mysterious chad of a guy who's chill af and on the other you have a cute Cockney gremlin with small dog syndrome.
So would I. Seriously, whoever David Mitton entrusted them to actually has the power to revive or reboot the series! Or at least release them as books.
I actually thought that Hercules is more like a mix between Edward and Toby. Edward: Because he is smart, respected and humble Toby: Because he doesn't really care about what people thin about him and is very content with his life. what do you think!=?
For my version of Bloomer from The Railway Series, his mannerisms would be like Hercules with having ladies swooning over him and refer to everyone as "m' dears, old darlings and sweethearts". I like that trait from Hercules and want to use it in my Thomas stories around Bloomer. What do you think?
Another great video. I was interested how you were going to do Hercules as he does have the lead amount of screen time of any Starr tug. I agree with the Hercules/Edward and BoCo comparison. Especially with regards to how they often handle more verbal characters Z-Stacks and Bluenose, Bill and Ben, Gordon etc. But one major factor I think you overlooked between the two was size and strength. Whilst Hercules is more like BoCo in terms of size, both are large physically powerful strength is definitely more of an Edward factor. In the show, Edward frequently has to push trains up the hill. Engines far larger than himself and their trains too. Edward is only a Medium sized mixed traffic 4-4-0 built in the 1880s. Yet he still manages to push a 4-6-0 (Henry) and a 4-6-2 Pacific (Gordon) up the hill with 5 or 6 coaches or a fully laden goods train. Hence why I think strength wise Edward and Hercules have a lot more in common.
A fair reason to liken Edward and Hercules, though to imply that Edward is that strong is simply inacurate. He adds enough strength to get the trains moving. He simply has more deterimation and willpower than the others. That said, Hercules' hero moment in his cancelled episode does make a pretty compelling case that he rivals Edward in said determination. Thanks for the kind words.
@@cindersandashesuk5744 Yeah. Imagine if we did get to see that episode being produced. It would've been Hercules's answer to Edward's Exploit. Sigh, a man can dream.
I still think Edward is a much more better counterpart for Hercules though I wouldn’t mind Boco being counterpart. I still think Edward being in Hercules his counterpart is much more appropriate because in my mind I think he’s like an older brother to Thomas just like Hercules is to Tencents
Whilst personally I think Hiro and Edward are the perfect counterparts to Hercules I also think Flying Scotsman (In my AU) could work as well. Both are big, strong, humble, wise and nearly everyone knows not to mess with them
Since you mention that Hercules and Ten Cents are brothers, a Thomas duo with a brotherly bond is Thomas and Gordon. Gordon being Hercules and Thomas being, of course, Ten Cents. So couldn't Gordon be a Herc counterpart too?
Possibly if you go by the alliance that Gordon and Thomas formed in the classic series. The relationship between them would of course be very different though
Btw both Hercules and O.J are based off real ships, O.J is based off the Eppleton Hall, the LAST "Floating" time paddle steamer, still afloat at San Francisco National Maritime Museum! The Unlucky Tug made a whole video about the tug! Now Hercules is based the real tug Hercules also in the San Francisco National Maritime Museum! Both can be seen today!
I think that the best RWS/T&F counterpart for Hercules is Toby. Here are my reasons: -Both are certainly very unique in their respective fleets (Hercules being the only ocean-going tug, and Toby being the only tram locomotive) -Both do not appear as often as the rest of the main cast -Both are laid back and don’t give a shit about what others think -Both are full of knowledge they share only when necessary -Both are absolute Chads.

Actually with Hercules, I think I can see more similarities of Boco and Duke mixed in, with a touch of Edward. Gentle but firm. Doesn't take crap from no anybody. He is also willing to put his life on the line for ones he cares about like Ten Cents or Sunshine. It's similar to Duke trying to save Stuart from falling off that cliff from a season four episode. I also see some of Dukes personality in Hercules. 😌 Which makes him an awesome character.
Since Tugs exists in my TTTE au I wondered how they could be brothers and here is my excuse, Ten Cents and Hercules are technically cousins but they bonded so much in the early years they considered themselves as brothers.

I think he would be Boco because he does not appear in every single episode and also kind of act like him
Not to mention. Both names start with letter H. So that possibly counts
