to me joule's modules sound a lot like mid 2010s kawaii future bass, its crazy how much ahead of their time were all of their late 2000's early 2010s tracks, composed, mind you, in tracker software. Imagine they just open up a daw with some synth plugins one random night in 2009 and we get future bass like 5 years earlier.
RELOCATED! I had totally lost access to this song, with the passing of an old iPhone and the loss of 8bc, but I always remembered it and kept playing it in my head. For some reason, I'd thought it was called "Forever without you," and kept searching for it. Finally I found an 8bc archive page and searched for the word "without," and found it!! OK, part of my life has been restored to completeness.

This is almost certainly one of the best chiptunes ever written. The only improvement I could suggest is that it never ended because from 3:10 on I am always saddened by the fade out. I shall specify that this play at my funeral because too awesome.
This title interweaves the mathematical harmony of sound along with both the romantic nostalgia on the 80/90's 8/16 bit games (as any chip-tune is expected affect us) and the love we felt in the best years of our youth. Indeed we are getting old and we feel like this fashion will eventually fade away as we pass away. ...oh, wait! There's some hustle in my kids' bedroom?! Let me see... The boy is playing an 80's game I've never seen before! And the little girl is listening to a Japanese synth-wave repeating 70's rhymes!
