- Preparation
1. Disconnect Power and Pressure:
o Ensure the EBS 100 is disconnected from any power source by pulling the cable.
o Make sure the hose is connected to the collection tank.
o Check the gauges for zero pressure.
o Move lever A to position A2, and B to B3. Then move lever A to A1, and B to B2. Finally, return both levers to position 1.
o Vent the system by pressing the valve to make it pressureless.
Tools and Materials Required:
• Two technicians
• Safety goggles
• Wipes
• Two slotted screwdrivers
• Metric size 4 Allen keys
• Metric size 15 wrenches
• Metric size 22 wrenches
• A collection tray
• Two wooden slats (with at least 10 mm ground clearance)
Step-by-Step Instructions for Removing the Control Unit:
1. Work as a Team to Remove the Hoses:
o Position one technician on each side of the EBS 100.
o Use the metric size 15 and 22 wrenches to loosen the hose connections.
o Be prepared with wipes, as fluid may leak during this step.
o Place the disconnected end of the hose in the collection tray to capture any leaking fluid.
o Repeat the process for the hoses on the other side of the unit.
2. Remove the Backplate and Inspection Hatch:
o Disconnect the power cable from the control unit.
o Use the metric size 4 Allen key to remove the backplate and inspection hatch for access.
3. Remove the Couplings:
o With the help of the two slotted screwdrivers, first remove the smaller couplings.
o After the smaller couplings are removed, use the same technique to remove the larger coupling.
4. Loosen the Cable Screw:
o Use the metric size 4 Allen key to loosen the screw securing the cable, allowing you to unplug it.
5. Detach the Control Unit:
o Use the metric size 4 Allen key to unscrew the fasteners that connect the control unit to the card.
o Once loosened, carefully lift the control unit off the card.
6. Place the Control Unit on Wooden Slats:
o Turn the control unit upside down and place it on the wooden slats (ensuring the slats provide at least 10 mm ground clearance).
7. Remove the Remaining Screws:
o With the control unit resting on the slats, you can easily access and remove all the remaining screws.
o Once all screws are removed, the housing can be lifted off effortlessly.
8. Unplug the Grounding Cable:
o Finally, unplug the grounding cable to fully disconnect the control unit.
Your EBS 100 control unit is now safely removed.
