- Are you sick of being passed by on cool eye protection because you wear glasses? The Wiley X Rogue could be your answer! I have been looking for a pair of prescription safety glasses that doubles as my prescription sunglasses while on the range. Sure I could get contracts and run the latest military eye protection and look like a dork. I just wanted some ansi safety glasses that looked cool without putting in contacts.
I have worn glasses for as long as I can remember. I have tried several sunglasses but they really do not offer good impact resistance. In the past years, I have been working on upgrading my ear protection, and not it is time to upgrade the eye protection. I Chose the Wiley X Rogue as mine as my prescription eye protection. Bolle Iris. Inexpensive with good ANSI rating. Will need prescriptions soon enough. 😖

I'm with you brother. I am such a sissy when it comes to my eyes and finally broke down and invested in some prescription eye protection. I was on their website last week and found that you can get any of their regular glasses in prescription. I priced some up and laughed when it was over $600! Thanks for watching.

I just got a prescription for those inserts. First impression is they are bit small and the two layers including the actual frame affects the clarity a bit. However, I hope they will be less of a hassle compared to contacts (they dry my eyes out). Going to the range to test them this weekend.
It took me a few sessions to get used to the RX insert. They are smaller but since they are closer to your eye than regular glasses, They need to be smaller. Let me know how they work out for you.
How did they turn out for you? I've been sticking to regular eyeglasses, but I've stopped after I got a casing lodged between my glasses and cheekbone, leaving a burn mark that's still here after months.
How much closer are the prescription lenses compared to normal?
About a 1/4 to 3/8 inch closer than my normal glasses

For those people that have big eye lashes, the prescription lenses gonna be too close?
Possibly. It took a while for me to get used to it. If my eyelashes were longer, it is possible that they would touch the lenses
Hey brother. Could I bother ya to ask what ballpark your prescription might be in? I've searched high and low for some ansi rated glasses that will fit my high Rx prescription and I'm really hoping these will fit the bill.
I just got another pair. Let me see if I can find the receipt that I submitted to my HSA.
It looks like I paid about $145 for the Rogue and another $60 for my prescription lenses

Can you get the insert with a bifocal?
Thats a good question. I have been debating on getting one of the inserts with a progressive lens just for shooting. I might do that on my next perscription refill.
Those lens inserts look small. Adding a bifocal would decrease the area you have for your distance vision.
did you ever get used to the prescription insert being close to eyes
I did get used to them. Would prefer them a little farther. But they dont freak me out anymore
