  • Well, I finally made a demo! Compared to the artists I have showcased since I first started this channel, my work is a bit of a letdown! I am constantly striving to improve though!
This isn't intended to be a "finished" painting. It was just a quick hour-long study. I might continue to work on it in the next couple of days. I will post a photo on my Instagram.
    Thank you for watching!

Dane, darn nice painting! Don't beat yourself up, when learning to paint en plein air; there will be setbacks, but you have to keep going, and going, and not stop. You'll eventually know when the work begins to "take shape", and suck less and less. Voice of experience here. LOL.
Nice demo of an "ordinary landscape" that most of us pass by but should not, since there is beauty in every single molecule of Creation, at least I think so!! : ) One comment though, for future vids, although the music is not that bad, it would be better to have some comments on your thinking and process as you work. Check the vids of John Poon for an example of what I mean; he is not only a great painter but also a great explainer of the outdoor painting process! : )

I'm so sorry for the late reply, Ron! I REALLY appreciate your comment! I have a very strong desire to keep improving! I'm so grateful for the many resources young artists, like me, have access to!
I could not agree more with you! There is beauty in ALL of God's creations, even the mundane ones!
Eventually, I plan on replacing the music with a voice over of my thoughts, however, I don't feel I have the knowledge and experience yet as I just graduated high school! For the time being, I'll just leave the talking to masters such as John Poon as you mentioned. Again, thank you for your comment, Ron! I really appreciate it!
