It just doesn't work for me. When I try to sign up through the internet site it says my number is a risk and I should download the app. I did, re-entered my number and it still doesn't work.

From what i found out, after you input a phone number on the register page website , the number is flagged as “at risk” so you cannot use it no more to register. Found this out because i did the same mistake with my phone number, when i tried to register my friend’s number for the first time directly in the app it worked (btw still couldn’t create an account since afterwards QQ ask you to enter your Chinese ID info, and i’m not chinese)
