Its only haunting/scary because its isolated, in a forest with insects buzzing, a small breeze flowing and complete different accoustics it could easily be one of the most beatiful noises
Some dinosaurs survived after the meteor hit, but they later survived due to starvation. So picture this. A parasaurolophus calling out all by itself in a silent world, with nobody responding to it
they could’ve already been in decline by the time of their extinction :/ but truly. the fact that I’ll never be able to hear these with my own ears (in regards to real life) and see their true colours is truly upsetting to me
Brodc, just play ark survival evolved for a little bit. You won’t be scared of parasaurs anymore. Sure, You’ll be more scared of what the parasaurs are running from but that’s besides the point.
I can't get this noise out of my head after listening to it. It makes you wonder what other dinosaurs actually sounded like and it's sad that we will never know.
This sounds like it was never supposed to be heard or uncovered, an alien in disguise, it’s terrifying and loud, which is why Parasaurolophus is my favorite herbivore
Imagine your family and you are in a caravan in the middle of a forest, suddenly you hear footsteps in the mud which are a bit too big to be local animals. Then after listening to the rainy night for at least 10 more minutes you hear these noises both from different sources as if these creatures communicate with each other, but then they come in sight and you see how giant they are. Then when they hear your dog barking at them they decide to attack the caravan and flip it over without effort. Herbivores truly are underrated but powerful.
I do not quite see how this is terrifying in the typical fear sense. But unnerving in the sense of something that one wasn’t entirely meant to hear. For me it is a privilege to take in a piece of the song of one of this world’s most near-alien creatures

Imagine walking through a forest covered in bushes, no roads, no smog, it's cold due to lower CO2 levels, but it's also a lot easier to breathe… and then you hear this somewhere in the distance, you know that if this thing finds you, it's over, even though this is a herbivore.

as a small child there was absolutely nothing that would have delighted me more than having a pet parasaurolophus as an adult and hearing this, I still completely agree with child me (though deinocheirus would now be my second pick, but back in the day we barely even knew about those)
Imagine these animals were still living and it’s night and dark outside your house and you are sleeping and suddenly start heading this outside your window
Tbh it probably didnt sound exactly like this probably a bit different or this could be omitted but this might be their mating call or their really anything Idk
