Yeah it really sucks when companies deal with the kinds of hazards that would make you want to wear these, but don't inform you. I had a job painting roads and there was a lot of road milling work, grinding the asphalt to make impressions for the lines in the road. Nobody I worked with wore these, we just had cheap disposable dust masks. If I had known about these masks and P100 filters I wouldn't have had to quit that job maybe!!!
I'm lucky enough to have a good supply of these during the pandemic. Now I just need to have the courage to wear these outside instead of the disposable N95, which I will eventually run out of! 😂
@@Rankin1111 Actually I started wearing them especially since masks became mandatory and everyone wears masks. Nobody stares now even if I have a full face shield mask on. Lol

very helpful informative video on the general use of such equipment... however, I was waiting for additional info on the type of respirator masks - or proper fitment of - for people with facial hair but no further info was provided... the presenter of this video clip mentioned the facial hair issue in passing but didn't provide further info nor list any potential alternatives... I also happen to have a trimmed beard as the person hosting this video clip and am in the market for a respirator, either full or half face one... I've preliminarily set my sights on the 3m 6000/7000 [or their ff 400 full face] type of masks to use with their p100 ov/ag cartdriges, but I'm not certain whether I'd even be able to get the proper seal with that combo, in light of my beard... could you elaborate with further info/links?.... thanks for your time...

This reply is a month late but just cut out a piece of a face mask it over the exaust port without covering the port with the tape itself if that makes sense.
Does this mask protect others from your germs when you are wearing it, in other words, are your exhaled particles released into the environment? I am chronically ill and high risk and my home health phlebotomist, who also makes rounds at local nursing homes with high COVID infection rates, entered my house wearing a full face respirator with double sided pink filters. I was initially relieved thinking I was protected but later read online that these types of masks offer only one-way protection, for the wearer, not the patient. Is this correct?
@@und4287 Approximately how many hours do they last in a dust and dirt free environment ? Can they somehow be decontaminated/cleaned for prolonged usage. At this time, I (daily) decontaminate my masks with a low temperature high intensity UV Light box similar as to what dentist and hair salons use to sterilize their tools-of-trade. I was thinking about placing the mask into an air tight Tupperware container with a small cloth damp with 80 % water and 20 % Bleach then exposing the clear box to sunlight and the heat would create a toxic steam that will completely kill all known microorganisms but, the light bleach solution / humidity may damage the mask therefore, reducing the life /performance of the mask.
@@marklarson3934 If you have enough filters, I don't think all that would be necessary. I just rotate through them with enough down time between filters. I store them in ziplock bags. After 3 days the virus should be inactivated, but I give a larger amount of time just to be safe. If the filters are sitting unused for a week, or a month for example, any viral contamination will no longer be active I am fairly certain of that.
Man, I lucked out so much at my work. They had written off a ton of these things and just gave them to me. They are a bit intimidating to wear in public though. People barely wear masks as it is. A disposable N95 mask still gets some stares sometimes. Imagine wearing a full face mask respirator to the grocery store. You will be much safer than everyone else, but you'd need to have some balls too.
90% of American homes were painted with lead paint and no one died so, what's the BIG concern ? The BIG concern is that the NSA/CIA could not look into American homes from space based surveillance system's as the lead in the paint defeats their technology ✔ Yes. For over 40 years now the US Government has had the ability to see through roofs and walls as if it were transparent glass. They can clearly see you moving about within your homes. Why you say... because you are their number one enemy. And, the same reason there are strange low flying (ariel spraying) aircraft seen flying over residential neighborhoods during a Pandemic.
Big Thanks for this one. I work for an insulation installation company and there's NO ONE there to get clear information from.

How can you cover the exhaust port to protect the patient. The mask will protect me, but what if I am asymptomatic?

if the mask has an exhalation valve, and the ex valve has no filter it will contaminate the environment.
Yeah, only for the wearer
