A great man and a great interview. We need a voice like his more than ever to guide us through the darkness. I strongly believe God spoke through him in all he said.
A great admirer of Rabbi Sacks. He was a gem of a man and a gift to us all. I read and loved his book "The great partnership". I learnt so much from him about Judaism and just plain humanity. I gave up on religion about 20 years ago and now I am a committed a non-theist who grew up in a Muslim family and I kid with my Jewish friends that If I were looking for a religion Judaism would be my first choice. But thankfully I am not and will never I am a pure non-theist, science guy. I admired Rabbi Sacks for his humanity and what he called "greatness of individuality".
Ladies, thank you for sharing this precious interview! I am so grateful to Hashem for the few years that I was privileged to listen to this amazing Rabbi's priceless wisdom while he was still with us. He enriched my life beautifully and I still miss him. His very last answer to the very last question of the interview on the question of why bad things happen to good people was genius and very thought provoking! His quiet serenity during the interview makes me wonder if he already suspected or knew that his days of physical presence with us in this world were short? @@FromTheInsideOutPodcast Shalom, I just saw the short clip you recently uploaded of this interview and remembered his genius words and my comment which was made before Shemini Atzeret. I am not Jewish, but I love the G-d of Israel and the Jewish people and I have mourned the 7 October massacre even more than I mourned 9-11. I ask myself if it will take a 7 October or 9-11 type of attack in the USA to help wake this nation up. I speak out against Jew hatred, I stand with Israel and I pray Tehillim for the hostages and IDF but I am also now praying for the protection of American Jews. I don't want to live in a USA where Jews don't feel protected or safe, or if for those reasons most of the USA's Jews do aliyah to eretz Yisrael. I know that this nation has been blessed for welcoming Jews, but I realize it will be cursed if we are inhospitable to G-d's treasured Am Segulah. G-d protect American Jewry and have mercy on this USA!
Watching this under the context of it being his last public interview and you thanking him on not just behalf of the Jewish people but of humanity was comforting and eerie at the same time. Searching for his wisdom more than ever after October 7

We miss Rabbi Sacks more than ever. The answer at 55:00 on why bad things happen to good people is the most profound explanation ever. Maybe the final and most important teaching from this wise man. He’s told the story of meeting the Rebbe hundreds of times. Still, in this video, he presents the experience with such vigor and freshness, it sounds like he’s telling it for the first time.
What a wonderful conversation. He’s so refreshing. A huge man but humble. I love his book recommendation. I’m currently reading The Doctor and the Soul, it’s amazing.
