Small thing: legitimately one of the few reactors who knew it was the trash he threw coming back down.
The bag was like 90% ketchup, and him throwing the bag was a pretty throw away joke that most people forgot about, so it wasn't in people's minds.
Also, that type of joke usually happens in the scene immediately after, whereas in the show, literally days have passed since he threw it, so in our minds, if it fell, it fall long ago. It wasn't a well timed joke

I think the “boring” parts are meant to be like typical superhero stuff because, at this point, Mark thinks he IS living a typical superhero story. The thing is that he’s slowly disabused of that notion over the course of the story.

HEY! Finally you're watching this. I was a background painter on this show. I did a tonne of shots all over season 1 but probably the most notable is the wide shot at the end of the first episode where everyone's brains are splattered everywhere.

Gets Invincible season 2 elusode 4 flashbacks...
The show doesn't give a close-up on it until much later, but Atom Eve's logo is the female simple with little electrons orbiting it. But in the more simplistic distance drawing, it just looks like the female symbol is Xed out, which is really confusing.
According to the producers there was a mix-up and the simplified designs for distant drawings ended up being used for almost every shot, regardless of distance (there are two or three scenes in season one where the correct symbol can be briefly seen); thankfully it was fixed for the Atom Eve special and season two.
She has her own episode between seasons and it's Great!

This isn't a parody comic btw like The Boys. It simply is its own unique comic universe, but they can spoof other comics from time to time. Invincible even crossed over with Spider-Man.

Yeah. Boys universe doesnt have supes on same level as other 'superhero universes' out there. Boys are pretty low-powered compared to others. But thats fine. Most important thing - the story is on point. There is no reason for there to be more powerful supes. Homelander is intimidating enough.
Homelander is a supe. Omni man for a lack of a better word is a supe as well. But omni man has the power that would make homelander look ridiculous and embarrassing. Homelander is just a good villan.

Homelander is a big fish in a little pond. I would argue that there are far more powerful supes in the The Boys universe than him.
Easiest way to put it; Homelander couldn’t carry that plane to safety. Omniman threw an earthbound asteroid the size of Texas back in to space..🤣
You are the *only* reactor I've seen to clock that the "astronaut" on the ship was a Martian. Nice one. Most people think he was a Sequid.
It is pretty early in the series, so unless the watcher is familiar with DC justice league which most of the powers are based, it seems would be easy for many not yet know shapeshifting was a standard Martian ability.

Atom Eve's logo is supposed to be the female symbol _with electron orbits around it_ (three in the books, two in the adaptation), but due to a mix-up between the design team and the animators the simplified design intended for distant shots ended up being used for most of the close up shots in season one (we can briefly see the correct symbol in two or three scenes in the whole season), so it ended up looking like it was crossed out.
Thankfully this was fixed for the Atom Eve special and for season two.

Fun fact a lot of Spanish people who learn English as a second language often find articles to be one of the most difficult parts to sentence structures. So
"Invincible" is a MASTERCLASS in subverting expectations, I remember reading the comics in the early 2000's and it always keeps you wanting to see where the narrative is going and you can almost never guess AND the subversion is almost always worth the dissonance. Most times when an artist tries to "subvert the genre" the subversion ends up being worse than what you started out with. It's like you were expecting a microwave pizza and they give you an unopened can of cheap tuna, but this show gives you a delicious homemade calzone.
The first episode absolutely blew me away with the insane twist, stellar animation and the visceral brutality; since I hadn't read the comics when this show came out, I didn't know what to expect, but HOLY S***, this show is insane, and genuinely knows how to pull at your heartstrings keep your suspension and curiosity of what's going to happen next. Yet, you still need to find out if you are ready for what comes next.

They're both self aware, play wkth comic book superhero tropes, and have a brutally real look at what superhuman violence would look like, but that's where the similarities really end. They almost do what they do from mirror opposite perspectives. The Boys is a satire, whereas Invincible is a love letter to superhero stories. One is a cynical deconstruction, while the other is a loving reconstruction in the sense that it looks at deconsteuxtion and reaffirms the heroic ideal. They do similar things, but their stories are coming from a very different place and trying ti accomplish very different things.

Eve's symbol was actually drawn incorrectly. It isn't the female symbol X'ed out. It's the female symbol with electron orbits around it. Hence the name "Atom Eve".
The ending of episode one blew my mind, so out of the blue and wonderfully executed, no music just the Brutal thuds of impact. From this point on I knew this show would be something special
Omni-Man is basically J. Jonah Jameson with superpowers. They both look so much alike. They even sound alike because J.K. Simmons portrays them both. Now THAT is a menace.

The first episode not only does a great job at taking something generic and making it more intriguing, but it also lures you in with a false sense of security only to do a complete 180. Probably one of the best pilots ever imo. Definitely a hall of fame worthy episode.
Seth Rogen is a great fan of the books, and an executive producer of the show (and possibly an unrelated live action film, if it ever gets made), so of course he got himself cast as fan-favourite Allen the Alien (and did a great job playing him).

If you still think this is boring and the action is uninteresting when you get to the last episode of season 1, then something is clearly wrong.
The first half of the season wasn’t the most jaw dropping thing ever though. Shes right that most of the stuff was very surface level in the first few episodes aside from the big twists but the show 100% ramps up in the second half
I feel people just don't know what they want from comic book media. They want something unlike other hero stories, but when it actually focuses on the characters unlike a lot of bad hero media that ignores it completely, it's boring, even though the action isn't what she wanted. Then she says it sounds like standard superhero stuff, while saying she doesn't care about the characters because they're not funny and there's not a lot of jokes in the show.
That’s what I’m saying. There not 1 superhero show/movie with this type of violence besides them boys And they have great characters. This is why I unsubscribed lol
@@aandyxo7678 Dude omniman murdering the guardians is one of the best twists you will see. Then in episode 2 he absolutely wrecks the flaxans home planet. How can you say the first half isn't good, most people say the first 2 episodes (along with episode 8) are the 3 best episodes in the show.
On defense of darkblood, as a not native english speaker, knowing what the words mean is the "easy" part. Conjugation is harder (at least for me)

About the X on Eve's suit, It's actually supposed to be an Atom symbol, but in the comics it was an X when it was far away (cause it requires less detail if far away) and the animators apparently used that as reference, making it an X on the animation

39:30 the reason he is being sent back is because while he wants to solve the murder case of the heroes, doing it so obviously will absolutely wreck them all. They have to pretend that they have no suspicion and do some precaution on the side until it is enough.
I love how the first scene of this show starts off as a typical X-men type episode, and then that ending of the first episode hits and holy shit, the game is changed.
Also the voice actor for Robot is Zachary Quinto, who is most recently known for playing Spock in JJ Abrams' star Trek. But for me his bets character will always be Sylar from Heroes. Dude does that character really well. lol Remember; "Save the cheerleader; save the World."
season 1 was the peak, season 3 part 2 as well but yeah his character went on a TRIP
@@tranquilk5912 Yeah, I often fail to specify that I mean season 1 Sylar; and maybe Season 2 just a little. But mostly Season 1. It's just too bad the show had issues with a writer's strike and then devolved into trying to fix the problem they created with Peter just being OP. It started out as something so much more than just the typical superhero genre, but then became the very thing it was trying not to be.

Btw The ♀️ symbol on atom Eve's costume isn't actually crossed out. It's supposed to show atoms circling the symbol hence the name atom Eve. The show's style isn't as detailed as in the comic so it looks crossed out
When I first saw her, I thought that she changed genders to use her powers or something. I thought her name was Adam/Eve, not Atom Eve, and with the "crossed out" female symbol... yeah.
Only realized once there was a detailed shot of her symbol that I was wrong.
This show has so much heart, but it's also very brutal - excited to go on this journey with you!
Invincible's pilot is so incredibly average and just feels like a generic show about "not the justice league" and then just flips LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU KNOW AND EXPECT ON ITS HEAD in the last moments to the point where you cannot stop watching. Hats off to everyone involved for doing that so seamlessly.

Drakblood is supposed to be reference to Etrigan who always speaks in rhyme, that is where is speech pattern comes from.
As for Amber, if you continue the series, you will learn that they wrote her crapply and yes, she has weird dialogue and it is supposed to make her look insightful and like she calls people out but comes off as a smart aleck. Her comic character was the typical girl who just waits for her super hero man to come home and they tried to flip the script on her with that (and race flipped her and made her the the only insufferable character, not the best move for diversity) and screwed it up.
Mark should really just say he’s a volunteer firefighter or something, that way he can have a fair excuse to go and leave in the middle of whatever he’s doing
