In December of 23, I was watching Gaza coverage. And I made an observation - seeing how the occupation uses Jewish symbols everywhere. Especially tagging everything with Star of David. I started to think that the Star of David would become the new swastika. And about 12 hours later I came across an interview of a Lebanese Journalist. She was recounting a story from her childhood, illustrating that in the Arab world the ✡️ already is seen like a swastika. People like Yuval Noah Harari are very successful because they tell people what people want to hear. By legitimizing and reinforcing their biases, Bill Marr, Sam Harris, Steven Pinker and Jordan Peterson have also done quite well for themselves attracting huge followings this way. It’s fairly clear that all of them are very intelligent people. Unless they are grifters conning their audience, they’re stereotypical brilliant people who lack wisdom. They exhibit what Plato called the arrogance of wisdom - meaning knowledge without experience. They are what Nassim Taleb refers to as, “intellectual yet idiot.” They’re all very talented at rhetoric and sophistry. But they are plagued by cognitive dissonance and and a very selective relationship with truth and reality. They are very talented at cherry picking facts that support their own beliefs. Where I am I have joined a 'solidarity Sangha ' a group facilitated by some experienced meditators from BIPOC background where we meet to meditate and discuss how to be in solidarity with the struggles of the world. It's almost life-saving for my activism.

Coming back to the subject of anarcho-capitalism. A friend is reading a book called "A Libertarian Walks Into a Bear" by Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling. He seems to find it a worthwhile read. From the reviews/articles I have read about the book, I would tend to agree.

Coming back to the subject of anarcho-capitalism. A friend is reading a book called "A Libertarian Walks Into a Bear" by Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling. He seems to find it a worthwhile read. From the reviews/articles I have read about the book, I would tend to agree.

Added, that in any war, the vast majority of deaths are by sickness and malnutrition, coldness and the iof blocked food, water and medical aid for a huge part of the past 12 months... i estimate easyly half a million dead after next winter... it takes my breath away every time it comes to my mind

As for Yuval, I'm beginning to think he may have become a spokesperson for Zionism, I suspect unwittingly. His target audience being the Western anglophone, pro-Israel middleclass, especially in the States who know nothing about the history of Israel but who unequivocally support it. Yuval is a high-flying example of Israeli superiority in the tech, writing and even philosophical fields, he confirms his target audience in the perceived correctness of their pride in Israel, which is under enormous pressure currently. I don't believe he is aiming for this, he's more a useful (...). He just wants to promote his book and hang out with powerful personages. Fundamentally, I don't believe he's a bad guy, just lost, culpability perhaps, but at least he's not dropping ordinance on his Palestinian neighbours.

please please don't conflate whats happening to the people on the other side of your border to the eating of meat. Many of us get truly respect the animals we eat, and in fact are more connected and respectful toward the myriad of life forms than the non meat eaters I know.
I'm not "conflating" anything, I'm just making the simple and obvious observation that all oppression comes from the same source, and that all different systems of oppression are in the end quite similar in their mechanisms of operation.
I often think to myself, who has the worst arguments to justify their violence - Zionists or carnists? Every time Zionists spew their bullsh*t they convince me that they should be the winners in this dubious contest, but then carnists start speaking and immediately convince me of the opposite! I mean, what can be more absurd and ridiculous than saying you "respect" the ones you murder?
But the thing is, in the end you all have the same types of arguments: Zionists who want to pretend (maybe to themselves?) that they actually give a damn about Palestinians say that they're murdering them to "protect them from Hamas", and carnists who want to pretend (maybe to themselves) that they give a damn about other animals say that they're murdering them "out of respect".
In both cases it is an obvious, cynical lie on many different levels: it isn't true, it isn't relevant and it wouldn't justify anything regardless.
Specifically about your argument, I already explained how it is the opposite of the truth. It is also irrelevant since the vast majority of my criticism goes to the h0l0caust industries anyway, where I'm pretty sure even you would agree respect towards anyone or anything is nowhere to be found. It's also irrelevant that disrespect can be found in other practices of people - it can only be the start of a new, further discussion about how *that* disrespectful practice should be eliminated.
But the most obvious way to see how bad your argument really is is to simply look at it from the point of view of the victims of the violence you're desperately trying to justify: if YOU were the one being murdered, would you care if your murderers "respected" you or not?
