  • This is a big one just a WEEK ahead of Ascent Houston.
"Clarification regarding Fracturize and the layer system, specifically regarding Nullifying Lantern: Nullifying Lantern's effect of making graveyards Norm will persist through Fracturize's ability-removal. This is due to Fracturize removing abilities in Layer D, later than Lantern modifying card elements, applied in Layer C."
What do you all think? Does this change your Deck plans?

Can't this also make Null Lantern more powerful against more intensive Fire Decks. I can make my own null lantern a phantasia which is more difficult to remove than a regalia?

Though I understand why it works that way, im not a fan of the interaction. That being said, I still rlly like Fracturize as a card; being able to swing with a weapon, chaining Fracturize on it, and still getting the base pwr of that weapon on the swing plus a fractal is pretty dope.

Why is this necessary. Why do we need layers of ongoing interactions like this?? Is there a purpose for the over complication??

layers are important for resolving multiple continuous effects.

Yeah this is a mess. It is not super clear from rules whether layers resolution itself is continiousely checked. If it is, then I do not get this at all, cause on the first application of layer 'D' the graveyard ability on the card should have been removed. And on any other subsequent application of layers again, layer C should not find a graveyard ability anymore... But if the layers are applied only once(after a resolution of a Fraturize Spell), this behaviour does sound legit, even if unnatural.

So if Lantern is Fracturize, is it that the card's effect will still be there (Grave element=norm)? Or after Fracturize, later cards that went into the grave will keep their element?
And if it's the first result, does that mean for "Viridian Protective Trinket" it also keep it's continues effect even after Fracturize?
Also, are there any website that has some of the rules for GA? Cause as a new player, there are still some things I don't get how it resolves.

Sorry the late reply somehow I missed this. First thanks for watching and supporting.
Regarding viridian trinket it works at Layer E, or the last layer. So it will no longer add it's "tax" to cards once fracturized.

This is so worrisome for this game . So hard to grasp. Who would have known this??? So many unique interactions are stacking as a big barrier of entry for new players. It may be just too much for a new game trying to grow a base

Even tho I understand the element effect is applied before Fracturize takes effect.... It doesn't mean Fracturize effect does nothing.
Like... This ruling just outlines in which order to apply the modifiers, but it doesn't mean to not apply them.
So yeah, at some point on the modifier resolution, there is going to be a specific timing where Lantern would be able to do it's effect before being fracturized, but after everything has resolved and every card is out of the interaction, the Fracturize effect at the end of that resolution should still make it loose everything and subsequent interactions should see the lantern as just a phantasia.
But ok, let's say there are constant, infinite checks, and the lantern is able to apply the modifier indefinitely before the game remembers it's been fracturized, which is what their comment insinuates.... If that is the case then they should just fix their ruling because no way this is the desired resolution for that interaction....

Thanks for watching. And yes they have expressed the layers are working as intended.

hmm.. would you clear up the scenario of a crux sight + fracturize?

    • @TTPlaysTCGS
      @TTPlaysTCGS  Год назад +2

SO if you fracturize the nullifying lantern, can you still crux sight? No you cant. Layers are resolved in order, so at C the now Fracturized Lantern still turns everything normal, then at Layer D it's made a phatasmal.

Have you heard about the Altered tcg? I'm hesitating between GA, SWU and Altered...

Yeah the QR code game. I'm waiting to see/hear more about it but it's an interesting idea. I don't really understand how it won't just be all proxies. I assume I have to prove I have the cards before an event by showing my digital collection?

While I can appreciate the ruling, it doesn't seem super intuitive, since you need knowledge of the layering rules. When you read the cards, it seems like a very simple interaction, but it's more complex, and usually rulings involving layers like this involve more than just two cards. It's a bit unsuspecting. Gases Erupting Rhapsody decks, for sure.
