To answer Joe…Maya’s dad once worked for Kingpin. Kingpin ended up killing her dad; her dad’s last request was making Kingpin promise to look after her which he did. Kingpin told Maya growing up that Daredevil killed her dad which isn’t true and etc etc.
In Hawkeye it was Clint as Ronin killed who Maya's dad, but the "hit" was orchestrated by one of the other members of the Tracksuit Mafia
@@alexkramerblogs Yeah, Kingpin orchestrated it. That's why she shot him in the finale.
That's not the case in the MCU though. Maya's dad worked for the Tracksuit Mafia under Kingpin. He died during the 5 year Snap period when Ronin killed the Tracksuits during his criminal rampage (Maya was an adult already.) This is why Maya is hunting down Ronin in the _Hawkeye_ show, although in the 2nd last episode, Hawkeye tells her that while he did kill her father, Kingpin tipped him off and that Kazi was involved. This is what prompts Maya to turn on Kazi and to shoot Kingpin.
Maya is also, in the comics, the original Ronin. Clint got the identity from her.
Just FYI, the reason why Kingpin's Eye is all bandaged up is because she shot him in the eye at the end of Hawkeye.... so when he is talking to her at the end of the trailer, that has to be after the events of Hawkeye.

They're typical reaction channels now, believing everything negative rumor that comes out and jumping on the "if it's not dark then it sucks " crowd. They would complain that Deadpool and Spiderman tells too many jokes and needs to be dark in order to be good.
Remember her father was killed by Ronin and also the father worked for Kingpin. He was like a Godfather to her. It will show on Disney+ with a TV-MA setting.
They refer to kingpin as "uncle" to her.

@@iam_ad629 This is the stupidest comment I've read today. You don't know shit about writing, acting, cinematography, etc. “People don’t care about storylines” YOU only care about killing; not storylines, now that is boring. Imagine a show just of a character killing.
The Punisher had great acting, good wiring, etc.; it wasn't just the TV-MA rating, just like Daredevil, where the acting was incredible, just like the writing, cinematography, etc. Tv-MA rating doesn't mean shit if the writing is crap. That being said, Echo does look like it has potential because it has good writers; the lead writer wrote 21 episodes of Better Call Saul; it has other good writers; it has good directors from the same people that worked on Daredevil and The Punisher; and it has good characters like Kingpin and Daredevil, so it has the potential to be great.
kingpin "adopted" her after her father got killed. It reminds me of the Thanos/ Gamora relationship.
The character in the comics is native American and deaf & it was introduced 1999 !!!!!!
Be mindful of bias, we all fall for it. It's like when you're told about the illuminati triangle and you're told to look for it cause they put it everywhere; you start seeing it everywhere and you think they're forcing it in every little object & every media. So now you're out there with a checklist ticking boxes you believe they're ticking even though the character is 25 years old.

@@aishaalamoudi599 Hugely agree! I actually think that Echo being a deaf, Native American amputee actually makes things so much more interesting. If anyone has a problem with the apparent "box ticking" of Marvel, take it up with the comic book writers!
Daredevil: Born Again has NOT been scrapped, at least not entirely. They are replacing the creative team but the show is planned to resume production with new scripts once the strike ends.
They brought in a writer from The Punisher series to be the showrunner, and some directors who worked on Loki and Moon Knight. It looks to be in very good hands now.
@chrisd7047 I would agree to your first part of your comment. It's a good choice as showrunner but getting directors from Loki and Moonknight in, I don't know being both series were rubbish.
Moonknight could've been great if they leaned in to the TV-MA rating.
@@neil4920 If you're comparing their quality or tone to the Netflix shows, I think you're doing them and yourself a disservice. Both Loki and Moon Knight were very good and very well done within the constraints they had. I'll grant that perhaps the Moon Knight finale was a little Kaiju Fight-ish, but I still enjoyed it, and both of those series overall. If you didn't like them, you didn't like them, but to call them rubbish generally is, I think, unfair. They were both well received and pretty heavily praised. More to the point, however, if you think their failure was due to not leaning into the TV--MA heavily enough, if the Echo trailer is any indication, Daredevil: Born Again will give them that chance. We know Frank is supposed to make an appearance, and they know better than to chicken out with the Punisher.
@chrisd7047 Moonknight and Loki weren't well received, and the viewership proves that, and with each episode, the viewership went down. Disney is obsessed with putting a chick in there series and films and making her lame, gay or both. Loli was awful in his own show, and he played 2nd fiddle to Lasy Loki, and the writers made the whole Infinity saga look like a joke.
Moonknight should've been awesome, but the writing was terrible. There is no direction in the MCU anymore, and Kevin and the team should concentrate on quality rather than quantity and take their time.
Kevin and his team have made a mockery of Blade and Daredevil, and I have no faith in Deadpool.
@@neil4920 Moon Knight’s RT audience score is 89% and Loki’s is 82%. Loki has the highest viewership (even before season 2) of any Marvel show on Disney+, and Moon Knight is 4th-highest, but that’s only because the three shows ahead of it had more episodes or longer episodes.
So, in sum, you have no idea what the fuck you’re talking about.

This feels like banshee and I’m all in on it. Banshee was one of the most fun violent shows in modern times. It’s why that dude is homelander. It’s got the same feel.

I’m so glad that somebody else got Banshee vibes!! Most folks haven’t watched the show which is madness. But this trailer absolutely feels like the show could take place in the banshee universe, especially that last season with the massive indigenous brother that was seemingly unstoppable, man head butted his way out of a cop car and was tearing through opps like tissues. It’s like we’re gonna get to see some indigenous gangster stuff, and I hope that huge dude who’s back we see turns out to be Thunderbird from the X-men

It seems like its an Andor situation, where the director has free reign to do what they want and create something special because its a character that the big heads think nobody really cares about. THAT IS WHAT MADE THE MCU GOOD FROM THE BEGINNING. Nobody cared about Ironman, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow before the MCU, so they let Favreau have at it and do what he wanted.
Trailer was epic. I've heard Kingpin is the main villain and the show is all about the parrelles between echo and him

The general public might not know about Echo, but that doesn't mean no one cares. She came in in 1999, so she's been around for a spell. Started in Daredevil comics, had a romantic relationship with Matt Murdock (but who didn't?). As a comics character, she's gotten much more powerful (like cosmically powered) as she's gained exposure, and has worked with Captain Marvel, Moon Knight, the Avengers, and the X-Men. She has a pretty close tie to Logan, specifically. I'm starting to think that this show might present her as a mutant like they did with Ms. Marvel, and it would be a perfect fit for the character. She actually has a power that didn't get explored in Hawkeye: photographic reflexes, the same power Taskmaster has. If this show is done right, Echo might be in your top 10 comic book characters by the end of it.
You do realise that she is a Marvel character from years ago. So what box are they ticking.

Jei, I've said it before... DIFFERENT TIMELINE! The big reveal is going to be that everything up tp F4 that happend post-endgame is happening in different universes.
• She-Hulk and Eternals + Mutants is one thing probably controlled by Scarlet Centurion Kang. 838 as well.
• Moonknight's universe is another thing ruled by Pharaoh Rama-Tut Kang
• Quantum Mania Kang and Immortus Kang probably been beefin about 616 and that's how QMK ended up in the Quantum realm.
• Lizard face Kang is probably from the Secret Invasion universe

Daredevil Born Again is NOT scrapped. They're redoing it due to the writers messing things up with it. So, there's a new set of writers and directors and got a show runner for it to fix everything they messed up about it.
And "Echo" is going to be on Disney Plus. It will be on Hulu afterwards like Secret Invasion did.

For anyone that doesn't know, Marvel has been scrambling because they spent YEARS planning Phases 4-6 only for their plan to be obliterated last-minute by forces outside their control. Their ORIGINAL post-Endgame plans revolved around a new "trinity" of characters to replace franchise mainstays Iron Man, Cap & Black Widow (all of whom were leaving after Endgame).
The recent book "MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios" explains it in detail. The original plan was for Black Panther, Spider-Man and Captain Marvel to anchor the next chapter of the MCU. While filming Endgame, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland and Brie Larson often sat around and discussed their excitement over the future of the MCU and how they would be carrying the torch together, but then a series of unfortunate events destroyed those plans completely and left Feige and Marvel reeling. Between Covid, Chadwick's sudden death, Sony pulling out the rug from underneath Disney with their Spider-Man sharing agreement and the toxic responses to Captain Marvel, the entire plan imploded and Marvel was left trying to save the little they could and completely pivot and improvise the rest. THAT is why Phase 4 has been all over the place, with no clear direction. Their original plans were obliterated.

@@visionentertainment8006 Except that wouldn't have fixed anything. All THREE of the characters they planned the future around were impacted. Also, basing the next chapter of the MCU on a re-cast character when you don't know how fans would react to the recasting is a whole other problem. Marvel tried to figure out the best way to handle that situation and then Sony fucked them on Spider-Man, which likely helped them decide not to recast T'Challa since their plans were being blown up in real time. With 2 of the 3 characters they spent years planning a future around suddenly off the table, they were screwed. With how petty fans have been lately, they would have been criticized no matter what they did. Fans just need to realize Feige didn't suddenly forget how to do things. He spent YEARS planning the future and it all blew up in very quick succession and they had to completely pivot and make all their decisions on the fly. Based on positive reactions to Kang, they majorly pivoted to Kang as the big bad for Phases 4 &5, only to be fucked over by Jonathan Majors' personal legal issues. It has been one thing after another. YEARS of planning had been their strength for Phases 1-3 and they continued that for Phases 4-6 but this time their plans completely imploded.

@@amixofvids2475 If you can't read or listen to the full book ("MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios"), your best bet would be to Google it because media outlets decided to release a bunch of separate articles, touching on all different parts of the book. The part about Marvel's original post-Endgame plans is just one section that was covered in the media, but it's FULL of inside information about Marvel. The author spoke extensively with Marvel executives and other employees.
Personally, I used Audible's 1-month free trial to get the book for free. The free trial comes with two free books and you can cancel immediately and still enjoy the full month free. It was well worth it! The book just has an incredible amount of substance and detail that you won't find in any single article out there.
There is a different article I recommend, though. It's a recent Forbes article by Mark Hughes (extremely well-respected in the industry) called, "Marvel Studios Woes Are Overstated." It's a strong, data-driven, fact-based rebuke of the hyperbolic, exaggerated and melodramatic click-bait OPINION pieces about Marvel that have been popping up everywhere lately (like Variety's recent article). Hughes lays out the facts and exposes the trolls and haters at the same time.
So definitely check out that article and get the MCU book on Audible (with a free trial) if you can. If not, Google will help you find plenty of articles that use the book as a source.

NGL I had zero interest in this until I saw the trailer and then I got major Netflix Daredevil vibes! I'm optimistic based on what I've seen so far
For some, it’ll be difficult to trust, no doubt. However, Marvel created the “Marvel Showcase” brand, now. You don’t need to know everything to watch a Marvel movie anymore. As cool as that was for the first 3 phases, it started to become a detriment, over time. This is going to be the first title under the Showcase banner. Stories will stand alone and apart, and may be referenced every now and then in the main timeline. Seeing as how Disney owns Hulu, promotes Marvel and bought Fox, using Hulu as their own “Netflix” for more mature Marvel storylines, makes sense. Why else would you put Deadpool movies and old Marvel series on your site?

Echo is a cool character, but I was not expecting to ever see her have a movie or show. In the comics, she had a photographic memory and can mimic fighting styles like Taskmaster. She was in Daredevil. She also became Ronin for a bit. It was cool to see her in Hawkeye, and the actor is good.
She was actually Ronin before Clint took the mantle in the comics. Her Taskmaster abilities are being kept out of the MCU though.

victorvargas1911 Kingpin and Echo and Daredevil have all had connections in the comics dating back to the late 90s/early 2000s. Fisk is still gonna be in DD Born Again as well. Also this isn’t just a Disney issue. Disney has actually owned Marvel Studios since 2009, so a lot of the success of the Infinity Saga came under their watch. It’s just that Marvel themselves have had a rough couple years behind the scenes. Here’s hoping they get back on track
