Hello coffeephish 🤗 So happy we could help. Dont worry travelling by train in Switzerland 🇨🇭 is quite straightforward. Trains are always on time. Here is link how to get to Verbier ruclips.net/video/u46JoHlDTm0/видео.html Where are you going? 🤗
Thank you for sharing pertinent info. in getting to Zermatt. Especially I'm minimizing walk (got constraints now that a senior) so a direct way is very helpful. Saw another option via Zurich but looks tedious for me.
Hello Victoria 😊 Glad You found the information useful 👍. We have been to Zermatt quite few times now and always flying and travelling from Geneva. Trains in Switzerland are very well organised which make the journey stressfree. Enjoy Your trip 👍😊
Hello John 😊 On the train some carriages has dedicated space for luggages if not You just have Your luggage next to You or if can lift it up there is also storage above Your sit 👍 Have a great trip 😊
Great video. I was almost tempted to fly into Zurich instead of Geneva and skip Zermatt but changed my mind when I saw your video. When looking at Trainline to buy tickets I notice there are often 3-5 minutes between connecting trains. I live in Canada and trains here can be up to 2 hours late. If I miss a connection in Switzerland is the ticket still good for a train 30 minutes later?????
Hello Grant 🙂 I'm so happy we could help and You have changed Ur mind because Zermatt is beautiful and surely U won't regret going there 👍. This is Switzerland the trains are on time there are no delays. You will be surprised how everything is well organised. But it happened once to us the train was few minutes delayed but then the other train waited for this one to arrive. There will be many people doing the same change so don't worry. There is an option getting more expensive ticket which is flexible on time. Where were You thinking going instead?
I was thinking of not doing the Glacier Express and heading from Zurich to St Moritz then getting the Berina Express only. I'm looking at booking tickets on the SBB train from the Geneva airport to Zermatt but I do not see a place for the Half Price Pass. Does it come with a number that I put in the E-voucher box? Thanks
Hi if You are buying from SBB there is a section straight in the begging which ticket are u looking for exp sezonal ticket, half price. For my first few trips I got it from sbb now I'm buying from the trainline.com
Hi! I just wanted to say thank you for the information and I have a question! I'm planning a trip in 2025 to Zermatt and Chamonix, Basically we will spend 5 days at each place. We will fly to Geneva and plan on taking a train to Zermatt and from there take a train to Chamonix and then train back to Geneva airport. I realize that to save some money I need to buy tickets in advance, I'm little confused what ticket to buy, on the SBB website there are several types of tickets, passes, in my case which one do I have to buy to save the most I can? TY
Hello 😊 So I buy tickets or from SBB or The Train Line. It used to be on sbb option point to point ticket which is example: from geneva to zermatt but You had to use the train on the tickets, I can't see that option any more. Just few days ago we came back from Swiss from Easter (travelled from zurich to st moritz) I used Day saver pass - good with this is You can use any train on that day so You don't Need to worry You will miss or take wrong train because You can use all of them on that day. To save some money if You dont have any swiss travel card (we dont) is to buy it minimum a month before You travel. Hope that helped 🤗 Enjoy Your journey
Hi Justin 😊 We already travelled 3times and every time I got tickets online Geneva Airport - Zermatt The express can get a bit busy but there is always a space - they departure very frequently (every 30min) so don't worry 👍
Hi! It's going to be my first time there!! I'm confused on which website is better to buy all train tickets?? Could u tell me where u bought ur tickets?
Hi 🤗 Ahhh You will enjoy a lot! In the begging I was buying my tickets from Swiss train website SBB now I'm buying them from THETRAINLINE webside just finding all proces a bit quicker and easier but it's preferable, both are very good 👍 Enjoy !!! 😊
Hi thanks for the sharing! May I know.. 1/ how many types of train we can take from Geneva Airport to Zermatt? And which train do you recommend? 2/ I’m using my Swiss Travel Pass and does it means it’s free of charge for the train you took? 3/ since I have Swiss Travel Pass, can I also need to reserve the seat? Thanks 🙏🏻
Hello SoN 🤗 From Geneva Airport the train leaves every 30min and it requires just 1 change at visp. I know there are few travel passes so I would just ask at the Geneva airport ticket office which is just a minute walk from the platform but normally You can just jump on and enjoy the travel without need to buy a ticket. You don't need to reserve the seat the trains are very regular and always seat are available - saying that rush hour and pick sezon may get a bit busy Hope it helps 🤗
Hello Nicole 🙂 We always travel with a big luggage too, it's very easy, the trains are well prepared. There is a special space on each car train for luggages/skies or if that space gets full people just sit with their luggages. Hope that helps 🙂 Have a great trip
Hello 🙂 Thx for the questions. In the begging all my train tickets I was buying on sbb train - is the switzerland train side is very easy to use and You can buy all sort of tickets You like. Now I'm using the trainline website because I live in the UK and I easy for me. Enjoy Your holiday 👍 any other questions pls ask 👍
Hello Timo Rumpunen 😊 That's dependent when will You buy ur tickets. I normally get them on online in advance (the cheapest way) if You buy them on the day You will pay more
Thank you Thank You!
This takes so much stress out of my mind as a soon to be first time visitor from outside the country
