To me, this is truly one of the scariest SCPS, just because there truly is no beating it, yet it doesn't seem to do anything to anyone who doesn't affect it. It just..exists, and those who enter don't leave
Although I haven't watched the anime yet, it reminds me of Made In Abyss, both have a dangerous area that doesn't need to be explored, and yet people still venture in. They're both entities that prey on humanity's curiosity and want to explore.
Here's how the acronym works. Secure Contain Protect is their slogan. Not their name. It's a common misconception, so I don't blame you or the people who told you otherwise. Special Containment Procedures refers to the SCPs themselves, and the company name. There's a lot of misinformation around the acronym, so it's common to get it wrong.
i really love this retrospectives. Im roughly the same age as you, maybe a little older. so seeing deepdives on things i grew up on feels oddly nostalgic and really cool
Definitely Haversine's SCP-087 should get big recognition because a lot of gamers and YTbers mistaken for other SCP-087 games to be the original. But his version maybe just the first version he created but its the best.
the first SCP-087 was a really nice game since the only information you get is that "It's a endless stairwell now go down it". Leaving a lot to the player's imagination which can make it scarier since you're not afraid of the dark itself you imagine what is in the dark and that's what scares you (until you reach the end where you get jumpscared by the masked man but shhhh) and games that lets you imagine what's happening just seems more interesting and scary to me also I am so hyped for the tf2 video
SCP-087-B is still the most dreadfully terrifying game I've ever played. I first played it 11 years ago when I was 13, and no other horror game has scared me as much as SCP-087-B
1:49 light brightness is not measured in watts. I think I know what you meant - when you say 'an 75W lightbulb', we probably can estimate the brightness - but those are fundamentally two different things.

It's so fascinating to go back and see just how much was inspired by one story, and the whole sort of butterfly effect that results from that. Also, aw, baby sagan's game looks pretty alright! you had some ideas goin' for you there! REALLY excited for that tf2 retrospective, perfectly fine if it takes as long as gmod's-- that video was Definitely worth every second, I'm sure this will be too. I think you'll be really good at tackling those weird little nuances it has. Hope you have fun!!
Commenting cause I just really enjoy your retrospectives. You make nice videos the audio and visuals are all good. The information is really well put and comprehensive. The vibes are immaculate and I want to appease the algorithm so more people see this.
really nice video! i do have to say though that droning sound in the background repeating so much made my head hurt real bad tho - it also distracted from the video a little!
087 is one of the quintessential series I scps for me. it rivals 093 in its legacy and just how memorable it is! the simple concept (not meant as an insult! some of the best scps are just a simple yet memorable concept expounded upon), the classic exploration logs, being completely unexplainable with almost no overarching narrative. its just SOMETHING that were trying desperately to understand and investigate but we cant. the most we can do is contain it. its wonderful! its got that old school nostalgic flavor for me. i dont dislike nu scp, far from it in fact! but i do miss the "essence" of series I. it reminds me of when i was just a wee lad with unsupervised internet access stumbling upon the foundation site by pure accident
I got to the very end of the video and actually said out loud “hey cmon!” 😂 that was just rude lol. But 087 and a few others really capture the essence of what I love about early SCP entries. I like the simpler stories that leave more unexplained rather than the later entries that are just...so much.
087 has always been my favourite scp and the games are petrifying. There's just something about 087 B that makes it so frightening to play. I was excited and scared for the oh eight seven to release because of the visuals but sadly it never happened
These are the original Unity horror games. Slender is good and all but I will always see these as the true OGs with a lot of credit to amnesia as well. We would have never had PT or the new Resident Evil games if this era of horror games didn't happen.
SCP SB creator's version looks creepier imo, because it has tight spaces. Like if in other games you can try to run away in the staircase, here there might appear something from the corner right next to you or you will need to be careful while running in these tight hallways.
As someone who has modified 087-B a million times over just like Containment Breach, 087-B is not a stable game. If you modify your walking speed and manage to spawn two entities at once, the game crashes. As for the ending, you can also get crushed by the walls.

literally still traumatized when I first went on the SCP wiki. I thought it was real and nearly sobbed. I thought I was going to be arrested.

I think being arrested would be the least of your worries if you found out anomalies are real
Honestly, as someone with exercise related asthma, I think a literal staircase would be scary as shit too.

At least you're going downward, though.
Here's how the acronym works.
Secure Contain Protect is their slogan. Not their name. It's a common misconception, so I don't blame you or the people who told you otherwise.
Special Containment Procedures refers to the SCPs themselves, and the company name.
There's a lot of misinformation around the acronym, so it's common to get it wrong.
why wouldnt the company name be secure contain protect that doesnt make sense
REMEMBER KIDS scp is the doctor, not the monster.
why cant it just be both their slogan and their company name lol
secure contain protect just makes more sense for a company name anyways
@@mcracc exactly
I think they just call themselves the foundation without the scp. Dont remember where I found it but it was somewhere in the site.
SCP stands, officially, for "Special Containment Procedures". "Secure. Contain. Protect" is a motto
Yeah, so many get it wrong.
