I sold my old 1980 F150 back in 2017. Started to regret it not long after. Bought a 1990 F350 in 2019 to fill the void, but not the same. I knew the F150 was parted out over the years, but I ended up finding a listing on Marketplace for the passenger door a few months ago. It turns out the guy who bought the truck from me still had the door. I brought it back home and although he had stripped it down, I was able to find all of the trim and other parts to put it back together. It's now hanging in my shop as a memory of the truck that once was mine, and still kind of is.
my first car, M/T 1998 3000gt sl from a church friend, drove 800 miles to my college. About a month in, I crashed going for a joyride with my friend (still friends). car landed upside down and thankfully no one was badly injured. Road conditions were not ideal as it was dusty at this one corner, causing oversteer. Ultimately, I was definitely at fault for going too fast. A few days later, had to get my belongings, where it was at a lot with other totaled cars. Something I will never forget. I fell in love with the 3k platform that I now got a M/T 92 sl going strong as a project!
@@controllerpleb6568 If he filed a claim through insurance and they paid out and deemed the title salvaged, then no it is no longer his. He would indeed have to buy it back.
Happy New Years! Looking forward to a new year of Bendaga content! This was such a bitter sweet episode hearing the history of the car and seeing it's condition but it had its era and lived it well despite it's wild end
Ive watched so many of your junkyard and auction videos, and part of the fun is speculating along with you about a given car's possible history based on the evidence the car shows. So it's def kind of surreal to see you looking at the shell of a car you know so intimately and being able to explain everything about it basically
You doing well dude, keep doing the good content for us that I like your videos and more important keep doing the things that you like I'm waiting see the Civic finish and running
I really appreciate the support-it means a lot. 🙌 I’m definitely going to keep pushing forward with the content and the Civic build. Can’t wait to get it finished and running soon-stay tuned!
So sad that a car that you owned and put memories and time on it gets stolen and junked away pretty heartbreaking sorry for your loss but something i noticed that this car is savable it still has the important parts to make it work
i had the same in green, had it brand new, for 18 yrs! yep. i bought a house, got married, got divorced. its time for a new ride. i lived a lifetime with that car
Man it must hurt you to see your first rally car like it is. It's just like me in my 2013 Hyundai accent. I lost my baby almost a few months ago and it hurts me sure. Now I have a brand new 2019 Hyundai Veloster but it's not like my hard-working little accent. I miss that car
Ya that's wild to see old car in pik a part. But please can you grab the door panel on driver's side. I've been looking everywhere in junkyards for one. For my ek hatch
Take the Civic's trunk and turn it into a couch, that way you keep a momento of the car with you while still having an item with use that isn't taking up extra space Either that or the seats work too lol
I had to let my 09 jeep rubicon 2dr go late last year, replaced the motor and then it snapped 2 timing chains. I couldn't afford to keep a time bomb as a daily. I had it for 6 years and moved cross country with it. Maybe she was angry about not being on the trails in az anymore. Lol. I know for sure it went to auction, hopefully to a good owner that will build it up and wheel it till the axles pop. Id hate to see it in the scrap yard.
Had a 84 Honda Accord 5sp. I tried to run out of gas in that thing. I was probably your age at the time. Destroyed the engine in the winter of 92(?) trying to get to work in a blizzard. Ran over something and it put a hole in the oil pan. It was either the car or ME. Car lost...Was going to rebuild. My uncle was supposed to get me an engine. It was the 1st car I installed a clutch in by myself. Man I hated letting that car go. They didn't give you jack for a vehicle then. $100? $75?. Saw it at the yard because I used to frequent them younger. Haven't bought a Honda since...never as good as the first one.
Yeah tracking down a car that you used to cherish and seeing it in ruins is a hard pill to swallow. I've blessed many family members and friends with minty cars like my 04 Accord just for them to be destroyed and traded in for a financed Equinox or Escape. oof
I had to send my first car, a V6 2007 charger, to the scrap yard because the motor blew in it, 10k after getting the car, but those 10k miles are probably the reason I can drive my Mustang so well, as I taught myself how to powerslide in the rain with it and got really good at controlling oversteer, motor likely blew because I beat on it non stop and didn't even let the engine warm up first (high school me was pretty dumb) but I learned to let the motor warm up before doing any spirited driving even if I had to learn it the hard way, the Mustang is treated much nicer because of it, it was a good car to learn how RWD handled before stepping into something with low end torque, and it'll always have a special place in my heart because of it, even if it has long been parted out and crushed
I sold my first car in july of 2023 and definitely shed a tear on selling it off to someone else. Also felt a little saddened to find out it was getting parted out and wrecked early in 2024. Big shame but in the end that's the fate of every car. Still sometimes miss that car but I feel like that will probably always be the case considering it was my first car
@ in my case I used an RSX-S engine harness and the connector for the crank sensor is different from the K24. You could de-pin the connection in the harness and move the wires to the correct order, or just buy an oem k20 crank sensor which are pricey. Not sure if it would be the same issue with and aftermarket engine harness.
Honestly, should open like a charity type of thing. Gather money to repair this car and then surprise the poor guy that got his car stolen. Or buy another second hand civic and give it a good service
You would be the first! I'd never let one of my cars go to the crusher... even if I'd have to drop a couple grand. It's time to recycle her into ver 2 race car!
Nah. letting go in this case just shows ignorance/indifference. You didn't actually care. If it was stolen, it's still technically yours. You can take it right out of their hands and just add back the EXTREMELY FEW missing parts. Were the wheels really that important that you can't add new ones? Or was it some 1 of 1 distributor bespoke to your car? Like, bruh, it's full. It's not missing any major component. Goofy ahh thought process. Especially that it's a rally car and doesn't even need to be registered.
I bought my car for 130€. Running, driving, past MOT with ease. Good car. I have had to change out the rear axle and do some brake work. Wasn't too bad but front dics were warped. Videos about it on my channel
$3k for an '88 Toyota Hilux, they are dreaming in that rough condition. For one in really good condition I'd pay $3k but for that they will be lucky to get $1k.
You know Bendaga when you eventually blow up, remember this comment when you're considering giving away (raffle or giveaway) one of those awesome K series. Thanks for the uploads

Rebuild it with your spare parts from the EK hatchback.
It would rekindle your past again!
That was a CHAMPIONSHIP CAR
best car and best mems

glad everyone was ok, but I feel that pain of losing a car you love 😢
Maybe you could take the Honda emblem off the trunk if it was still there. Would be really cool if you kept it as a souvenir 👍
You gotta buy it asap and try restore it to its former glory if possible
If it got stolen, it's his property. I don't think he would have to buy it back. Although at this point it seems like he might not want it.

Happy New Years! Looking forward to a new year of Bendaga content!

Happy New Year to you too! 🙏
fell in love with that Toyota pick up truck ❤
As a Brit, the fact rallycross has become a worldwide sport makes me happy
those quarter panels looked clean too what a shame
rust free too

Those rally cross courses out in Washington look so much nicer than the ones we run out here in Colorado/Utah.
i had the same in green, had it brand new, for 18 yrs! yep. i bought a house, got married, got divorced. its time for a new ride. i lived a lifetime with that car
Honestly this just makes me sad 😢 Like this just makes me want to hold on to my first car forever.
Heres a recomendation: you should add a kill switch on one of your builds which prevents your car from being stolen

Watching you has made me want to do more work with my 89 Supra…
YOu should! The mk3 Supra looks rlly nice!
Got into Copart because of you. Just picked up a 2006 LR3 with 120k miles for $675.
Should have taken the shift knob 🥲🤷♂️
Old Hondas were known to be easily stolen. To prevent that from ever happening again you have to install a kill-switch.

CRV 02-09 crank sensor work for the k20. Also Civic from 02-11.

It would absolutely kill me if my Evo III gsr or Corolla got stolen and I saw it years later in a junkyard
Yeah tracking down a car that you used to cherish and seeing it in ruins is a hard pill to swallow.
I've blessed many family members and friends with minty cars like my 04 Accord just for them to be destroyed and traded in for a financed Equinox or Escape. oof
Well, you still own the title I hope. Time to reposes it from the junkyard.
I meed to check the cars out at a scrapyard nearby

It would be weird to see a car I’ve once owned in the junkyard 😢, I used a K20 RSX to K24 crank sensor adapter harness on my K24 so far no issues.
Why is the k20 sensor needed on the k24?
