Rougaru is one of my favorite rides at cedar point, because it’s always been a walk on. I’ve never seen a line for it, and at any other park it would probably be top 1 or 2. It’s really good, but what makes it best is I never have to wait for it
Came here to make the same comment. My daughter and I were trying to find a catch as to why such a great coaster literally had no line whatsoever on a perfect summer day. I love Cedar Point and consider it my home park, because it is closer to the Detroit area than MI Adventure. I agree 100% with the list, especially the parts about the vest constraints on Valravyn. I remember riding the Raptor on my highschool graduation trip. 😢 Waited in that line for 4 hours… and it was worth every second. A truly phenomenal experience.
I'm planning to go to Cedar Point in 2024. I'm 13, and the problem is at my local Fair that is held July 31st-August 5th, and its not entirely focused on rides. Cedar Point is focused on rides all the way through though. My Mom wanted to take me but she passed in May 2023 at age 40. Top Priority is definitely to ride Top Thrill 2, Raptor, Gatekeeper, Magnum, Millennium Force, and more. My family though will be going to my local fair, while ill be going to Cedar Point. A Little sad, but I also don't really care.
@@br_916 Not anymore. In the last few years so many started hating on it. It like seems to it is cool to hate Steel Vengeance. But it's not cool, it's stupid
It's not that people hate it, it's that other rides are more enjoyable. I wouldn't want to put someone on it that I'm trying to progress to bigger coasters. They might be turned off to bigger coasters.
I've been going to Cedar Point for 45 years. Gemini and Magnum were both the tallest in the world when they were built. Magnum felt like it was a game changer at the time. Millennium force had the same effect when it opened. Dick Kinzel the CEO at the time didn't mess around.
Great points about Maverick. How fun a ride is will always top raw numbers. I think the stop in the tunnel with the second launch may be my favorite element of any ride in the park. There is a reason this one always has long lines.
At the end of the day of my first trip to Cedar Point back in June, I walked away with Maverick being my favorite coaster in the park. At one point in the evening, I rode it several times in a row, even opting out of waiting in line for close to a half an hour (with a fast lane) for additional rides on Steel Vengeance. I liked Steel Vengeance a lot, but I wasn't blown away by it. I think it's a really good coaster, but not a phenomenal one unlike Iron Gwazi and ArieForce One, which are two of my favorite coasters and my #1 and #2 RMC's. GateKeeper is a great coaster -- a lot of fun, great inversions and the wing-over drop is incredible. I really liked Rougarou a lot -- I was quite impressed with it, and I like it even better than Dominator, which I think is a really good coaster. I had no problem with Valravn and actually enjoyed it a lot. It's not as good as Griffon, but still not a bad coaster in any way at all. I don't understand why it gets so much dislike from enthusiasts. On the other hand, I can't understand why Magnum gets so much appreciation from a lot of enthusiasts. I genuinely dislike Magnum, and it is my least favorite hyper coaster of its genre. Not only was it incredibly uncomfortable, but I was actually bored on it. The layout is dull. Overall, I found this coaster to have almost no redeeming qualities. Raptor was good -- not one of my top favorite B&M inverts, but still a good and fun coaster. I really enjoyed Gemini -- fun coaster with some unexpected airtime moments. Corkscrew was not as terrible as I expected it to be -- certainly nothing memorable, but not horrible either. Blue Streak was entirely forgettable. Unfortunately, Top Thrill Dragster was closed of course -- I would've loved to have finally experienced it. And unfortunately, I was unable to get a ride on Millennium Force (which I really wish hadn't been the case). I still want to ride it someday in the not so distant future.
Totally agree Rougarou is underrated, I just went to Cedar Point yesterday and there was no line. Rode it from the front row twice in a row and loved it, it gets too much hate.
Finally convinced my spouse to ride SteVe and MF when we go back in October. They don't think SteVe is going to be better than Velocicoaster, but I keep saying just you wait... You have no idea what you're in for lmao
I had the pleasure of being on the Top Thrill Dragster when it didn’t clear the top and came down backwards to the start. So I got to kinda ride it twice as they re-launched us again and we made it over. It doesn’t happen often but some people genuinely seem to believe they are about to die.
😮😮 I hope you weren’t the ones on it when I visited back in 2017?!! I was filming the ride and was shocked and scared when it got all the way to the top….. and then came back to its starting position. They made an attempt multiple times for the train to clear over the drop…. I felt so bad for some of the riders because the look of excitement on their face quickly changed. It did finally clear over… but this was after about 20-30 minutes
i went to cedar point for the first time ever with my school's music department a few days ago! i went on some of the littler rides, only because by the time everyone was warmed up and ready to ride raptor, gatekeeper, and rougarou with me, i had reached my g force tolerance for the day haha. currently my favorite is iron dragon, but i'm sure once i go back that will change!
Went to Cedar Point for the first time for one day a few weeks ago, absolutely loved it! My ranking of the things that I rode and were open: 11. Iron Dragon 10. Gemini 9. Magnum XL 8. Blue Streak 7. Rougarou 6. Valravn 5. Raptor 4. Gatekeeper 3. Millenium Force 2. Maverick 1. Steel Vengeance
I road Raptor when it was brand new. It was the first inverted coaster I rode and I still think it is better than any of the others I've ridden since. I can't ride anymore. So I enjoy the POVs.
I hadn’t rode many big roller coasters the first time I went to cedar point, but my buddies got me to ride Millennium Force as my first there. Thought I’d pass out on that thing, but ended up being one of my favorites
I remember going to Cedar Point when they opened the Corkscrew. Now that was a long time ago! And it was originally red and another color (yellow maybe).
The track was always blue and the cars were red, white, and blue b/c it opened in 1976 which was the Bicentennial. Iron Dragon has been repainted though. IIRC it was originally red and grey.
Steel vengeance was originally the mean streak, my favorite roller coaster of all time. I was so hyped when they brought it out, rode it 5 times the day I went when it first opened. Went back just today to ride it again and it was sadly closed the whole day. But yeah, steel vengeance is by far the best roller coaster of all time
@ScreaminEagleCoastersSEFK launch be weaker than copperhead strike tho 💀 and yes it will be forceful, i’m expecting like a skyrocket II but more forceful. it needs that force to get up the top hat especially if they’re going for height record
Wilderness Run used to be called Jr Gemini, since it’s right across from it in the park. It might have even been called something else before that. That one, and Woodstock Express, were the first roller coasters I ever rode 😂 for a 6 year old, they were pretty rad!
I was in line for Steel Vengeance yesterday and I noticed there's a section of the ride that visibly wobbles and sways atleast a foot or two, along with the supports underneath it when the train passes over. Pretty nutty, but I'd still ride it.
Steel vengeance is truly spectacular to ride, but honestly, if I had to choose a coaster to ride over and over again, I’d pick maverick and millennium force. Those are just so fun to me.
I plan on going to Cedar Point in 2024, probably in May. I plan on riding the coasters in the following order, assuming I have time for them all. Top Thrill 2, Millenium Force, Steel Vengeance, Magnum XL-200, Maverick, Gemini Valravn, Gatekeeper, Blue Streak, Wild Mouse, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Rougarou, Raptor, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon. Possibly a few other rides here and there.
Last time I was at Cedar Point was just shortly after Millennium Force opened. I am due to a trip back but it was easier when I lived in Ohio, now that I am back in CA going there isn’t as easy but will one day.
I cannot stand when people criticize people just because they like or don't like a coaster. Grow up. You presented this very well and did not criticize anyone. Good job. Everyone experiences everything differently. You people that criticize seem to think we all feel the same so therefore if they don't agree with you, then you can criticize them. Everyone has something different they are looking to get out of coasters. My favorite at Cedar Point is Maverick, followed by Raptor, Gemini, Steel Vengeance, and Millennium Force. I don't need a coaster to be the fastest, have the biggest turns, to be enjoyable. I also take into account what the ride offers for what it is and the age. I love Blue Streak for the age, but how it is simple and offers easy thrills. I agree that Mine Ride is worthless. They need to keep the theme, but tear that one down. Same concept, but faster, darker, and more wild as a Mine Ride. Magnum needs to go. It is so bumpy now. There is nothing special about it anymore. Cedar Point is out of room. But those two rides can go bye bye. Same with Cork Screw. That ride is not fun at all. I really enjoy Rougaru is a fun ride. I remember when it was Mantis, and the line was so long. If you were not in a good stand up position and they locked the car height, you were in for a really bad ride. I am glad they got rid of the cars. These days it is almost a walk on, so we go on it a few times.
Here is my list. I didnt get to ride TTD or Wicked Twister, and I don't go for credits. 1. SteVe 2. Millie (Front row) 3. Maverick 4. Magnum XL 200 5. Raptor 6. Gatekeeper 7. Blue Streak 8. Rougarou 9. Valravn 10. Gemini 11. Corkscrew
@@Wildcattttt my head hurts thinking about how weak you are 😭, I’ve been on it 20+ times and have never felt this mysterious pain that everyone claims exists
That was Marissa and I's ranking from last summer. Except we had Gatekeeper over Raptor and Gemini much higher and Blue streak at the bottom. But Marissa was 36 and so she'd been to Cedar Point when Magnum was the #1 coaster in the park so she held a torch for it.
I went here last month for the first time. I live in Chicago near Six Flags Great America. Cedar Point friggan blows Six Flags out of the water! Every rollercoaster at Cedar was a better longer version of what Six Flags offerered and more! Im definatly going back next year, might even go back this year for their halloween fest .
If SteVe was located at Kings Island, I'd call it the best park. I think CP suffers by not having a legit, modern woodie. KI has two great woodies. But pound for pound it's hard to beat CP with the overall variety they offer.
Good list! Reasonable take: It is completely unrealistic to expect Cedar Point new additions to always be a first of its kind (first hyper, giga, strata, statstick RMC, etc). There are way too many parks looking to build new and cool rides to have one park always get the first/best/most impressive. You can put any of the top 9 coasters here at Great Escape, and the park will go from a skip to a "worth going out of your way for the credit" park. I feel like people forget that Cedar Point coasters (sans Dragster) have about as much theming as a Six Flags park, so additions like Wild Mouse look incredibly meh, because they aren't a first or record breaker. I would love to see Gemini, Corkscrew, CCMR, and Iron Dragon replaced with more modern models. So hyped for TTD revamp!
Great vid & rankings! CP is my home park and I go there 3-5 times per season. Here are my personal 2023 rankings: 18) Wilderness Run 17) Woodstock Express 16) Pipe Scream (CP lists as coaster, idk why) 15) Cedar Creek Mine Ride 14) Corkscrew 13) Wild Mouse 12) Iron Dragon 11) Blue Streak 10) Gemini 09) Rougarou 08) Valravn 07) Magnum XL-200 06) Gatekeeper 05) Millennium Force 04) Top Thrill Dragster 03) Maverick 02) Raptor 01) Steel Vengeance * Rankings subject to change in 2024
Raptor was the 1st coaster I rode on my 1st visit to Cedar Point in 1996. I'll never forget the feeling of that 1st ride on my 1st visit. And for that Raptor will always be in my top 3. Well for that, and also because it's still an awesome & thrilling ride, IMO.
I went to Cedar Point for my first and only time so far (sad) back in 2019, before the TTD incident, and ofc it was closed, so I didn't get to ride it (shoulda known, with Xcelerator at my home park [Knott's Berry Farm] always being closed), but it was a bit of a gut punch. But that brought up a thought: Have you visited Knott's and experienced Xcelerator's acceleration? 0-82 in 2.3 seconds. Top Thrill Dragster travels at a little over 68 mph after 2.3 seconds. So yes, it obviously goes faster and is still a great launch, but Xcelerator is more forceful, and is still one of the best, if not the best, launches in the world. Woulda been cool to add a mention to the OG!
Very nice overview. It's been a good few years since I've been and have been wanting to go again sometime soon. I can only ride the weenie rides (aka under the top 9 of this list) because I struggle a bit with momentum based nausea 😅
I dont have a RUclips channel, but ive been to cedar point every year since 89, when i was 6. Ive rode everything there, and find most of them good tbh. Top 5 for me: 1. Force 2. Keeper 3. Vengeance 4. Maverick 5. Magnum Two side notes: 1. I was at the park opening day for the Raptor and Keeper 2. No love for Disaster Transport?
My top 5 at Cedar Point are Vengeance, Millie, Maverick, Raptor, and Magnum. Dragster and Valravn are fun, but too short of a ride experience, and Gatekeeper is great when running fast, but boring when running slow.
I know I’m probably the only one but I think corkscrew is actually a very smooth ride, and genuinely enjoyable. The airtime hill delivers great airtime, and the vertical loop is very intense.
Wow i just relised i almost died at cedar point i wasn’t fully strapped on on the gate keaper and i had to push the straps on tighter so i didn’t fall of 2 seconds before the loop star
I've never gotten to ride steel vengeance. I was in line for it for 2 hours and was only half way through. I hadn't eaten in 4 hours and the park was going to close soon, so I just got out of line. I was so sad I couldn't do it, but it will be first on my list next time I go. edit: just went a few days ago and rode it!! It was SO much fun!! One of my favorite roller coasters there for sure. In top 3!!
Cedar Point has an "Arrow Dynamics" problem, the same way Kings Island has a B&M problem. Cedar Point needs to take out a couple arrow coasters and add say maybe a tall B&M giga and either an elite GCI or Gravity Group woodie or a B&M hyper flyer something
@@aarusharya5658 If they could afford it, retracking Magnum XL-200 with modern B&M track would be awesome and save the ride permanently and they can keep the full layout as is. Right now the layout resembles a Morgan hyper and the airtime is awesome but unfortunately the original Arrow track paired with the trains make it a very painful ride especially on the thighs and the helix part even causes a headache due to jerkiness.
@@jandrew1994 Retracking an arrow coaster with B&M track is really interesting and never been done before, at that point they would probably just scrap it and build a new B&M hyper. Also cedar point has a much bigger B&M problem than King's Island
One summer we drove down from Detroit like 2-3 times a week. Had some friends from Cleveland who’d meet us there…these clowns would straight up hop over the gate to get in.
i was one click away from riding steel vengence, but my mother and sister both said maverick is better, until i get a chance to ride SV, im inclined to believe them, because maverick was absolutely incredible
Valravn is criminally underrated. Maybe it’s because I’m prone to motion sickness and it’s less tight/rickety but it’s incredibly fun. Much better than Raptor IMO.
Of all the roller coasters I've ridden at this park (past & present) since my last visit in 2017, my favorite is Millennium Force, followed by Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Valravn, Rougarou, Raptor, Wicked Twister, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Magnum XL 200, Mean Streak, and Gemini.
@@thicccarteronxbox9930 That ride was way too rough. It was the worst hyper coaster I have ever ridden because of that. I don't understand how anybody can enjoy or even notice the airtime because of how painful it is on those last hills.

I rode Demon Drop on my Senior Skip Day in 1984. Thought it was the stuff! 😂 Rode Corkscrew 26 times that day. Good times!
Great points about Maverick. How fun a ride is will always top raw numbers. I think the stop in the tunnel with the second launch may be my favorite element of any ride in the park. There is a reason this one always has long lines.
I stand by Raptor being the best "welcome to the park" coaster in the world. Just a great coaster to get your day started and ending
The one at Islands of Adeventure in Orlando?
@@moose030406 no at Cedar Point
Great list. My personal favorite is still Millennium Force but love your list.
Great video! I enjoyed watching! The top 4 are so great here!
Thanks Michael!
@@CoasterDash You're welcome!
Millennium Force is my favorite coaster ever! I love the first drop and every thing else. It's so smooth. ❤
I went to cedar point 10 to 15 years ago and I remember really enjoying raptor!!! I love the kind where your feet dangle. Lol
Totally agree Rougarou is underrated, I just went to Cedar Point yesterday and there was no line. Rode it from the front row twice in a row and loved it, it gets too much hate.
It's bc people don't like to slow down on a ride imo...but I love that ride!
At least you included Wicked TwIsTeR.
Top Thrill 2 is INSANE never rid top thrill dragster but rode twice on 2, soo much fun and the reverse launch and zero g moment is insane
1. Millenium force 2. Steel vengeance 3. Maverick 4. Raptor 5. TT2 6. Gatekeeper 7. Valravn 8. Blue streak 9. Iron dragon 10. Cedar creek mine ride 11. Rougarou 12. Gemini 13. Magnum 14. Corkscrew
i went to cedar point for the first time ever with my school's music department a few days ago! i went on some of the littler rides, only because by the time everyone was warmed up and ready to ride raptor, gatekeeper, and rougarou with me, i had reached my g force tolerance for the day haha. currently my favorite is iron dragon, but i'm sure once i go back that will change!
We just left there today! Our home park is KI, interesting to see where yours line up!
Went to Cedar Point for the first time for one day a few weeks ago, absolutely loved it!
My ranking of the things that I rode and were open:
11. Iron Dragon
10. Gemini
9. Magnum XL
8. Blue Streak
7. Rougarou
6. Valravn
5. Raptor
4. Gatekeeper
3. Millenium Force
2. Maverick
1. Steel Vengeance
I honestly loved valravn I was in the first row on the side the first time I rode it and loveeed the dive
I road Raptor when it was brand new. It was the first inverted coaster I rode and I still think it is better than any of the others I've ridden since. I can't ride anymore. So I enjoy the POVs.
I wish i lived closer..
I only been to Bush Gardens In Tampa Fl
i can't believe i was there fore the opening of ten of these
and not the newer ones, either.
I hadn’t rode many big roller coasters the first time I went to cedar point, but my buddies got me to ride Millennium Force as my first there. Thought I’d pass out on that thing, but ended up being one of my favorites
The intro is so 🔥
I remember going to Cedar Point when they opened the Corkscrew.
But yeah, steel vengeance is by far the best roller coaster of all time
Re-imagined TTD better be good lol
It’s actually more durable that way opposed to it not having any movement.
That's intentional, it needs to sway a bit. Too much tension causes tear and break.
I worked there summer 2006 rode magnum magic seat, no trim brakes, at night 😁
Steel vengeance is truly spectacular to ride, but honestly, if I had to choose a coaster to ride over and over again, I’d pick maverick and millennium force. Those are just so fun to me.
Who’s here while top thrill 2 is out and open
Steel Vengeance is like the Mean Streak...STRAIGHT BALLS!
Magnum was the first roller coaster I ever road at 8 years old back in the summer of 1991
I really enjoy your videos! I probably would have ranked Cedar Creek Mine Ride above Corkscrew and Iron Dragon, but that is just me.
Thank you!
Valravn opened after I was born in 2015
You are too young to be on RUclips 💀
Solid List! SV, MAV, GK are my top 3!
He wore his watch and I’m sure he had his phone in his pocket. Lol the rules
I went to cedar point this month! Extremely fun but I almost threw up at gatekeeper lol so yeah!
my hands went numb during the ride lol
Here is my list. I didnt get to ride TTD or Wicked Twister, and I don't go for credits.
1. SteVe
2. Millie (Front row)
3. Maverick
4. Magnum XL 200
5. Raptor
6. Gatekeeper
7. Blue Streak
8. Rougarou
9. Valravn
10. Gemini
11. Corkscrew
Very respectable list! Thanks for watching.
Thank you, magnum is number 4
Rougarou uhhhhhhh my head hurts thinking about Rougarou
@@Wildcattttt my head hurts thinking about how weak you are 😭, I’ve been on it 20+ times and have never felt this mysterious pain that everyone claims exists
That was Marissa and I's ranking from last summer. Except we had Gatekeeper over Raptor and Gemini much higher and Blue streak at the bottom. But Marissa was 36 and so she'd been to Cedar Point when Magnum was the #1 coaster in the park so she held a torch for it.
I’ve stumbled across the roller coaster need section of the internet. Never knew it was a thing but respect nonetheless
i’m going tomorrow i’m so excited
I went here last month for the first time. I live in Chicago near Six Flags Great America. Cedar Point friggan blows Six Flags out of the water! Every rollercoaster at Cedar was a better longer version of what Six Flags offerered and more! Im definatly going back next year, might even go back this year for their halloween fest .
If SteVe was located at Kings Island, I'd call it the best park. I think CP suffers by not having a legit, modern woodie. KI has two great woodies. But pound for pound it's hard to beat CP with the overall variety they offer.
Thank you for the video
RAPTOR IS SO UNDERRATED!
For me, it’s:
15. Rougarou
14. Corkscrew
13. Wild Mouse
12. Cedar Creek Mine Ride
11. Iron Dragon
10. Blue Streak
9. Gemini
8. Valravn
7. Gatekeeper
6. Raptor
5. Top Thrill Dragster
4. Millennium Force
3. Maverick
2. Steel Vengeance
1. Magnum XL-200
Great vid & rankings! CP is my home park and I go there 3-5 times per season. Here are my personal 2023 rankings:
18) Wilderness Run
17) Woodstock Express
16) Pipe Scream (CP lists as coaster, idk why)
15) Cedar Creek Mine Ride
14) Corkscrew
13) Wild Mouse
12) Iron Dragon
11) Blue Streak
10) Gemini
09) Rougarou
08) Valravn
07) Magnum XL-200
06) Gatekeeper
05) Millennium Force
04) Top Thrill Dragster
03) Maverick
02) Raptor
01) Steel Vengeance
* Rankings subject to change in 2024
Raptor that high is nice to see
Thanks for watching! Seems like we have pretty similar rankings, except Raptor, which you’ve placed a lot higher. I appreciate the love for that ride!
Im going to say it now the new Top Thrill Dragster will be the #1 coaster in the world in 2024!
I wouldn’t go as far to say it will be the best roller coaster in the world But I do think it should be fun
MAYBE
Only if they nail the launches, spike and add at least an airtime hill then it’s got a chance to come back into best in the park argument
Nice list for sure. Maverick is the one for me.
I dont have a RUclips channel, but ive been to cedar point every year since 89, when i was 6.
Ive rode everything there, and find most of them good tbh.
Top 5 for me:
1. Force
2. Keeper
3. Vengeance
4. Maverick
5. Magnum
Two side notes:
1. I was at the park opening day for the Raptor and Keeper
2. No love for Disaster Transport?
You've inspired me to make my own
My top 5 at Cedar Point are Vengeance, Millie, Maverick, Raptor, and Magnum. Dragster and Valravn are fun, but too short of a ride experience, and Gatekeeper is great when running fast, but boring when running slow.
The mean streak almost broke my ribs when I was about 16 I am glad it was replaced by steel vengeance...
Did you ever ride the mean streak
The only part of raptor I didn’t like was the final break run my head got banged side to side on that restraint
I know I’m probably the only one but I think corkscrew is actually a very smooth ride, and genuinely enjoyable. The airtime hill delivers great airtime, and the vertical loop is very intense.
You are not the only one. I, too, like Corkscrew.
Same
its not smooth at all
I like corkscrew
I wanted to die personally
My opinion is #1 Maverick #2 Millenium Force # 3 Steel Vengeance (Mean Streak) #4 Raptor #5 Gate keeper
2:00 I'm a European... is that what y'all call coaster soundtracks?! 😂
I’m only 45 minutes from cedar point which sucks because all of the coasters aren’t anything for me anymore because I’ve gone there every year.
Can’t wait to ride Top Thrill 2
Wow i just relised i almost died at cedar point i wasn’t fully strapped on on the gate keaper and i had to push the straps on tighter so i didn’t fall of 2 seconds before the loop star
First time I've fully agreed with your ranking, but I havent rode maverick or TTD but I can see how they'd rank
In top 3!!
I'd never wait in line for anything that's more than 1 hr 15 minutes...
Millennium Force is SO underrated. I agree with every opinion except Magnum. Magnum is my #3.
The only really problematic arrow coaster at CP is corkscrew, but I wouldn't mind if Gemini was removed for a GCI
You don’t need it to be intense to have fun tho just enjoy the ride
One summer we drove down from Detroit like 2-3 times a week. Had some friends from Cleveland who’d meet us there…these clowns would straight up hop over the gate to get in.
i was one click away from riding steel vengence, but my mother and sister both said maverick is better, until i get a chance to ride SV, im inclined to believe them, because maverick was absolutely incredible
I'm almost certain I rode a corkscrew coaster at Knotts Berry Farms in 1979 or 80.
There is a lot of rolled coasters that were called corkscrew! There was one at Alton towers in England too.
